Terrible service, 1 hour and they never brought the food, we asked and there was no order!

Good night and I hope my words do not bore you but I want to share part of my evening that was being very good until the end, we took my aunt who was visiting for a single dinner. The cocktails are very rich, the food is very good. At the end of our dinner unfortunately and it is understood by the wooded environment, a cockroach flew towards the hand of my aunt and then to the face from where I quickly separate her and in front of one of those who seemed to be head waiters who ended up killing her. Here comes the sad part. Such a place, beautiful, with prices, because not for everyone and they were unable to extend an apology to us. Simply after killing the cockroach they ignored the fact that it had fallen to one of their clients since we did not have the powerful and rich profile of other visitors. Only that fact put a stain on the night and instead of having been the Family Dinner of remembrance now it is the place where a cockroach fell to a client and they did not even apologize.

I've gone twice
The first one I tried: the huevos rancheros love the presentation but unfortunately the sauce came cold and it took 15 min to bring it back hot.
The second I went with friends and ordered chilaquiles and the sauce had too much lemon and did not know anything rich the combination of it but the presentation very good.
I remember when barrio café was in San Juan and it was the hit
But these two opportunities the truth were fatal and to top it off the bill took a lot to get there
But I hope they manage to improve both in customer service and in the kitchen part.

Super bad attention! 42 minutes waiting for a salad. 3 different meseros attended me and one did not know what I had asked of the previous one.
20 min for the account and 20 more for the return.
Terrible service.

It's amazing the level of inefficiency with Hugo's requests. Orders take more than an hour, there are dishes that are in the app that are not available and the order delivery system sucks. It is ridiculous that at this point they cannot coordinate Hugo's orders well, knowing that they are probably most of his orders I do not know if there has been a change of management recently, but the service in general has decayed and is truly lousy.

Excellent choice in the capital.

Very good quality of its products, excellent tuna tartare and salmon carpaccio, the only bad thing is that they charged the carpaccio at the system price and on the menu had it at another price and when asking the supervisor to arrive to expose him the nonconformity this never arrived and when addressing it on the way out he only said that the price was ok and that it had been a waiter error.

The place is very nice. The entrance gives very bad looks the pile of motorized Hugo in the entrance hall. I had tried strong dishes from the menu before and very good. What I don't recommend is the Chef's Burger. For nothing in the world to ask for that which sucks. Meat all watery, tasteless or just charcoal-flavored.

The food was great, 5 stars. Very sweet! All very professional from presentation to service. We're going back for sure!

Just had the Coconut Rum Coffee because I’m vegan but I love that this place is Nica owned and operated. The place is beautiful and staff if friendly. I wish I could have brought them more business! They also have a hotel and everything looks really nice.

My review for the café: After being surprised by rain at 3pm, we fled into this café. Prices were a bit high but everything else around seemed to be even more expensive or closed. We ordered cafe con leche, a green smoothie, empenadas and the tomato avocado sandwich. Coffee was extremely good, Italian taste. Even better, they gave me a second one for free because they had a coffee happy hour (didn’t know that). The smoothie was as good as it gets, the food absolutely tasty. Smaller portions, but near gourmet level! At the end, the higher prices didn’t bother us anymore for our hunger was greatly satisfied.

A nice cafe that also has a hotel option with 8 rooms. Great selection of coffee’s and a nice espresso. The open café is a great location with strong Wi-Fi if you need somewhere to work. Lots of food options available throughout the day. Breakfast is really good with lots of options. Also located next to taco shop which is always a great thing.

Today Monday 02/04/2018 the place did not have coffee. Amazing the customers arrived and turned around because that was the answer of the waiters "no coffee we broke the machine" apart that have Q improve the service. It is not possible for the staff to be talking and laughing of their party nochds and to speak in high school when a start eats and to comment even of their vomited and who slept with whom the night before. They must have more respect remember that the service is what it is worth.

My favorite breakfast spot. I’m vegetarian and this place cooks clean and delicious meals. The music isn’t loud like it is at other places. This means you can actually have a conversation with the person next to you! Most restaurants in the area have LOUD, annoying music. I could literally go here everyday. Thank you for the food and kindness!

Great place, good food. The coffee is excellent and everything is prepared at the moment. The food is 100% Nicaraguan and the place is served by Nicaraguanese staff as well. They have a hotel next door which seems like a good option to stay.

Only 5 star review in giving in sjds. Ceviche best in town! The mahi mahi burger and rum, lemonade and habiscus tea cocktails are delicious.

Very good Pizza, Pesimo service, bad manager. We brought a wine for tomarnolos and they forbade us to open it. We tried to take the one who sold us but it was very bad. If the Duena or owner is reading this, urgently change the cashier. Instead of Vecchia Signora, we can change the name to Dog Signora.

I loooove the food and the service is always great. I brought some family members that came to visit from the US and they were also in love with it. Barrio Café has always been a must for me whenever I go to San Juan.

Dinner was good and tasty. Prices are a little cheaper than typical American prices — but still fair. Great environment!

Magnificent. The food is delicious, I recommend the steak and the chicken. The portions are generous and often accompanied by sauces that you can not fail to taste, like the ketchup with Chipotle from the hamburger. Additionally the attention is excellent and the waiting time is very little.

It'S A nice, cozy place to spend a quiet time, not so cheap but there are some prices that are fine, the food and drinks are rich.

Nice Hotel with all the services you may need for your stay in San Juan del Sur: Restaurant-Bar, Wi-Fi, A/C. They Have laundry service and free maps of the city. If you want a quiet room, choose one that is not close to the bar. I had to switch to one of the second floor because the first night was not possible to sleep well because of the noise. The staff is very friendly and guides you at all times. There is No pool but you have the beach at 100 meters.

Breakfast was fantastic. My wife and I both had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and a mimosa. Cooked to perfection. A little pricier than other spots in the area but, worth it.

This place is hit or miss and expensive for SJDS. Came here 3 days in a row for breakfast. First day was good. Second day they got our orders wrong and we basically had to eat it anyway. Third day the omelets were half the size of the first 2 days and missing ingredients. $12-15 for an omelette with black coffee after tax and the mandatory tip the apply to the bill. You could go to a more modest setting with same quality food and pay $5-$7.

Rooms appeared nice but no hot water. Water pressure was decent for a cold shower. Free Wi-Fi but unable to use in your rooms. The Wi-Fi only works in the cafe area. Food was good but a but pricey.

Very nice place and comfortable. Good location: near the beach and the local market, ATM and supermarket. There is a restaurant in the place with tasty food. 4 stars for little rooms (we are 2 adults and 2 little girls) and we found wet towels in the room when we arrived.

Place is very cozy. Food is very good and service is great. Prices are right on. You will love the breakfast and the smell of fresh coffee in the morning.

Honestly the best food and service I've had in all of Nicaragua. The ceviche is to die for, the breakfast is fantastic and the pasta is amazing. Authentic food and locally owned. Great coffee and cocktails as well. Definitely worth the visit. You'll probably come more than once. I promise.

Nice place with a good food and drink selection. It is a little pricey, but the food is good. We had a club sandwich and a mozzarella, avocado and tomato sandwich with balsamic glaze and caramelised onions. Both came with crunchy fries and really nice ciabatta. The place was very busy, but service was quick and the staff were nice. They were advertising a watermelon and basil gin and tonic which I'm now kicking myself for not trying.

The food here is amazing! A must try. The catch of the day for dinner and the eggs Benedict for breakfast. Both fantastic dishes! The service is also very good!

We came here on out first day in San Juan. Great local food, and some good cocktails and beer. Staff is very friendly here. Highly recommended at any time of day for some good food and drinks. The terrace in the back is worth it.

Very central Hotel. Rooms nice and clean. Breakfast included is plentiful. I cleaned a room a day yes and day no. The area terrace is very good. With hammocks and couches to relax. Some things "negative" : if you touch rooms near the restaurant will hear a lot of noise ; — (and the desk is not much help when you ask information of San Juan. And if you ask for the breakfast to go we'll charge you the package. It is not for the money, but the detail as the rooms are not cheap.

Asked for a cappuccino. The answer was soy or real milk? I concluded that this was San Juan des Sur's hipster-surfer jaunt par excellence. The coffee was beautiful and delicious.
