La Urraca Loca Hostel Hostel

A lovely place to stay while on Ometepe, run by equally lovely people. The dorm was comfortable and clean, the showers and bathrooms were as well. For $4 the breakfast is filling and very tasty! The owners were very friendly and helpful, and were happy to answer questions and organise outings etc. Very quiet and chill vibe, close to the kayaking, hiking, and great restaurants. Stay here!

One of my favourite hostels ever! The hosts were great and helped us book our trek up the volcano. Rooms are very clean and so are the bathrooms.

Our hosts Patricia and Dennis were so helpful from the moment we arrived, and set us up with an amazing tour of Volcán Maderas with a local guide named Arlen. He was amazing and shared his deep knowledge of the island and it’s wildlife with us as well as how the local community functions. Rooms were extremely clean and the bathrooms are spotless. Breakfast is offered daily and it is delicious. Finally, Patricia and Dennis helped us schedule our departure so that we could arrive at our next destination on time. Thank you La Urraca Loca.

Such a cute place with the garden, hammocks, everything is new, made of good sturdy materials, the dorms are super clean and even the internet works surprisingly good. Love the cat and the dogs and the owners are real sweethearts :) a minute walk from where the bus drops you off but away from the main road so you can get a good night sleep without any disturbances. Lockers big enough for the whole backpack. I'm glad that I stayed at this place, the owners understand travelers and provide them with everything they need and make them feel welcome.

I spent a week at La Urraca Loca and I definitely had a great time. The owners are a very nice couple from Italy and Spain and they do their best to make you feel welcome. The location is good, there is a bus stop nearby, cafes and restaurants and there is a rocky beach 5 minutes from the hostel. You can also rent bikes for a few dollars nearby. The hostel is new and clean, and both the dorm and private rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is not included but it's delicious. We had an authentic Italian pizza night, went on a guided tour at Finca Magdalena and enjoyed a salsa class with a local guy who is a very good teacher. I really recommend this place!

Such a lovely place! The owners, Patricia and Denis make you feel home in a foreign country. You get welcomed in a warm personal way which makes you feel just comfortable! Everything is clean and new. The breakfast is amazing and the smoothie tastes so good :) they have a beautiful lil garden with colibris :-) they offer you their own travel experience for your own journey with good hints and possibilities, definitely a winning place and its totally worth it to stay a few nights! Everything made with love.

Lovely place with an amazing view on the Volcano. You can enjoy the hummingbirds in the garden, spanish lessons and good vibes, 2mn away from the main road.
Patricia and Dennis are both so nice and helpfull. And you definitely have to try their pizzas!
