Absolutely stunning. However very crowded indeed.

It is also called a golden bae, cause of color of sand here is of golden color. We had enjoyed our half day there. It was complete fun. But I recommend to go n visit on nice sunny day. Usually, water is bit cool and wavy and beach is good for relaxing anyways. I think there isn't a proper parking facility, so if you want to visit in summer than better to go bit early morning.

I just went through a day, my cruise for Abel Tasman went out DESA Playa.

Loved it. Incredibly non-commercialized. Beautiful public beach with calm water, plus a fun tidal pool lagoon area that's especially fun for families. Quick water taxi access into Abel Tasman.

Very large and full campground public facilities not quite clean for that but very big places for campers.

Good old kiwi camp site. With 3 beach's less than a 10min walk away it's the ideal place for your summer holiday. Good kitchen & toilet facilities plus a range of camp sites, cabins and rooms available.

My family has been staying every year at the same campsite here for nearly 50 years and it has been the best holiday ever every time, recently DOC has taken over the campground and made it seem much less warm and inviting. They are against campers that come every year like us and want to cater more for the tourists to get more money. Kaiteriteri has turned into more of a money maker than a holiday beach.

Great beach and estuary. Very beautiful. Camp ground right on beach behind road and has good facilities including a shop and restaurant. Family friendly. Can be a bit too busy at times. Management policy of date booking for those with site first refusal rigid with the stated intent to open up the bookings to allow more new people to camp at Kaiteriteri. Booking system is inefficient.

Good camping in great location. Really nice beach. Good for water activities and family holidays.

The lady on 2017 Christmas was rude when asked for help arranging our tent place. Stayed 4 nights in two different spaces check in 2:00 pm/ check out 10 am (4 hours waiting). They don't have water service available (camping/caravan groud). They asked everyone to have a bucket filled wit water in case of a fire. They didn't provide the buckets.

Beautiful beach. Had a lovely swim. Will be much more crowded next week when the school holidays start.

Nice location just in front of the beach. We stayed in a campervan and had a perfect place facing the sea so we could watch the sun rise.

Me and my friends stayed at the campsote for a night in oir campervan. The campsite is located right infront of the beach and the surroundings are calm even though tourists were walking right past our campervan. The staff was friendly and guided us well and gave us sea side parking space. Unlike other campsites the cost of hot showers was not included in the reservation amount. We had to pay for 6 minutes of shower. The showers were at par with most campsites and clean. The bbq too was paid for every 10 minutes and wasn't really a grill bbq, but more of pan fry type. It was disappointing, and after 3 cycles we decided to give up on the bbq and use the oven instead as the bbq was ineffective. The campsite also didn't have any recreational activities. The grounds were not paved or covered with grass, giving rise to some dusty situation. The closest grocery store closed at 5:30PM. However there is a closely located bar with live music which was open untill 10pm or so at night. The campsite was below average compared to all campsite that we stayed at in North and south island in terms of maintenance of ground and facilities for registered campers. However I would say we didn't have a tough time while we stayed there. I would recommend this campsite for people who just need a nights halt before continuing their onward journey.

2 nights in there. Cabin is small but cool. Clean kitchen and toilet. Shower charges 50cent each 6mins, that’s make sense. Amazing sea view and many activities. Kayaking is really cool.

The apartment we stayed in was wonderful and clean. We enjoyed having a lofted room. The entire site was great. Food nearby and a store below. We enjoyed our stay!

Great campground, right next to one of the nicest beaches in the country. Good store next door and very close to tourist activities and restaurants.

What should be a public beach has been designated a reserve. Can't walk your dog there not even on a lead.

Great beach however a huge downer is not much parking so we won't be back for a while.

The location is the only great thing about this campsite. The sites are small and you pay a premium which is understandable because of the popularity of this area. But when you are paying this kind of money to stay, it really bugs me that you have to pay for a shower and even the privilige of using your bbq. Come on… is this in the kiwi spirit of things? Certainly doesn't make me feel welcome.

If you are around nelson and want to hit the tracks for a day. This is the place. From grade 1 to grade 5 level of skills. It got something for you. Visit local bike shops for more info.

My favourite beach spot in the South Island. The camp ground is well run with great facilities. Smaller sites and gets very crowded over summer, but the things to do and see around Kaiteriteri are numerous. The beach is stunning, there's mountain bike parks, tracks, walks, cruises, kayaking, diving, fishing, seal colonies, national park, restaurants, and so much more.

An absolutely stunning location to stay at any time of the year but especially summer. This campsite is well organised, quiet (even when jam packed) and offers a good sized campsite for a reasonable price. The ablutions are kept spotless and with a number of blocks located around the park, you don't have to wander too far to find them. A great place to base yourself for all the amazingness on offer at Abel Tasman National Park. Spectacular beach swimming, regardless of the tide.

A place very quiet and pleasant. It was a unique experience to see up and down the tide.
