I stayed here for a conference and it was great. I slept so well, the bed was very comfy and staffs are nice. Only thing I worry is that if you are sensitive for sleeping, this place can be not the best. For me pretty satisfied.
We traveled two hours to Dunedin for a funeral & I didn't feel welcomed like other reviews I'd read. We changed our booking from 2 nights to 1 & the owners words were "you changed the rules on me so I changed the rules on you". "because you have no money". My husband had started a new job that week & we hadn't received his first wages like we had hoped that day. We recently moved 8hrs south from Nelson & were blind sighted when my grandmother passed away. He placed my husband, five children & I in downstairs rooms which were not 'Delux' like I'd booked, however I had organised our finances for at least 1 night. The owner stated he'd done me a deal because we were staying two nights. I wasn't aware of this 'deal' as I rung directly because of changing prices on the internet. I wanted comfortable rooms for my family to take the stress off of myself as I was grieving. After I deliberated in a protest with the owner I was offered a Delux room with my girls & my husband & boys had a standard room. My 'Delux' (room 17) however had mould around the bath tub which I forgot to tell management before I left & I forgot to take photos as part of my review. The bathroom door didn't shut properly & when my 7yr old done a the smell lingered out into the room (gross). I also had trouble locking the door on the inside as the lock isn't level to the latch. It's also a basic old metal sliding lock that I could only describe as seeing on a shed. I think the door needs to be replaced also.

Excellent motel and my new first choice of somewhere to stay in Dunedin. The room was clean, stylish and warm. It's a pleasant walk through a nature reserve to the city and the views from the neighbourhood are spectacular. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. I would absolutely stay here again.
