Enjoyed an evening meal as part of a group tonight, which included Orange Roughy as FISH OF THE DAY and a delicious Pavlova and cream for dessert! Both for a very good price indeed and most enjoyable! Highly recommended!

It was a great place to stay. Have stayed there before, wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Have visited this place when in Dunedin for over 40 years and the food and service has always been consistently good. Last visit no exception.

The design of the single room I stayed at was a bit small & out of date but nevertheless reasonably comfortable. The location was convenient with its own restaurant/bar inside the hotel. It’s a great hotel to stay if you’re traveling on the budget.

Very central, within walking distance of most places. Clean, warm compact room with a good bed. Food in cafe was lovely and good price.

Room 310… the room was clean, beds were comfortable but the layout was awkward. The bathroom was a nightmare, obviously hasn't been upgraded since the building was built, the shower trickled at best and the temperature fluctuated wildly. Access to accommodation elevator was through the public bar/pokie area… not exactly "kid friendly".

Really enjoyed our stay here! The rooms — while pretty standard — were tidy with comfortable beds and cosy blankets. Exactly what we needed for a quick stopover. We also had dinner in the pub downstairs, the meals were well sized and priced. It’s not luxury but it’s friendly comfort — I’d stay again!

Friendly spot to have a drink. We stayed here for one night and enjoyed it. Love the look and feel of the bar! The room was nice and clean. It is also well situated in the center of town with parking included.

Excellent location, go to Otagon Square and countdown are all walking distance. The rooms are narrow and the facilities are older.

Reasonable price. You can hear everything, walls are thin and the floor creaks. Some of the doors don't close properly. Very old building.

Price performance is top is just about a pub who I like it just the rooms are very clean and cozy.

An excellent place to stay in a prime location of Dunedin. The staff is friendly and helpful, the beds were comfortable and the price was right. We will be back.

Loved it here, beds are comfy, suites are nice, staff are friendly, and the whole building has style. Didn't get to eat at the restaurant downstairs but it smelled and looked amazing. The bar has good drink prices, too. Also loved my heated mattress pad!

Buildings of this age have plumbing, electrical and acoustics issues. So expect it. Overcoming this are it’s central location, the convenience of the bistro and bar down stairs, comfy beds and extremely helpful and happy staff. Overall a good experience.

Very noisy and hot room in november, air con did not work. Needs up dated. Old coke and noodles in fridge — mouldy, unreal. Needs done up. Small bathroom. Restaurant food nice. Not recommended.

Large pub / hotel. We had nice room on 3rd floor. There is some building work at the moment so there was some noise during the day. Breakfast and dinner were very nice.

Great location, comfy room. Did hear traffic noise more than I would like in the morning.

Old hotel with lots of character. We loved our room, the attentive staff and the food downstairs.

My stay at the Law Courts Hotel was most unpleasant. I arrived at 8pm at night dropped stuff in room and quickly left to meet family in town. Upon coming back to room I realized I should have inspected it as soon as I got there. If I had of I would have left straight away. By time I got back no staff. There was a used bottle of wine & dip left in fridge obviously from previous stay and so hadnt been cleaned. The wine glass was still dirty. The taps over the sinks were stained with previous toothpaste. The plug on the wall behind the TV was half hanging off the wall. Hair on the bottom of the shower. Musty smelling. Expensive for size of room. Mentioned some things I found to guy in the morning behind desk and he said it wasnt the norm. Just wanted to get out of there. Have photos to back up. Will not stay again and will not recommend.

Nice english style public house in the city center the meals in the large. Resturant were very nice. And fresh.

Great location, just minutes walking away to the city center, first church, railway station and settlers' museum. A bit noise in the morning due to large vehicle passing by.

This is good hotel with great service and friendly staff. The food is superb as is the price. The rooms are clean. The hotel has great facilities for recreation too.

Good location! Within walking distance of many places, including a super short walk to the Cadbury factory and the railway station! Our room was excellent, though it was a bit cold by the windows (and there were many windows).

Wig'n Pen : Awesome good old fashioned roast lunch, almost too much, I struggled to clean my plate. Friendly genuinely caring staff, nothing too much trouble, they were great with my 5 year old. Less than $50 for the 3 of us including drinks.

Staff, meals, rooms, atmosphere all are awesome great hotel.
