Tony's Lodge Hotel

Went to Tony's for a few days with a mate on fishing trip he looked after us nothing was a problem cooked us breakfast and dinner each day whenever we got in he's a top person I recommend a stay at his place he treated us like family we be back soon Tony.

Had an awesome time at the lodge, we were welcomed so well and it felt like home. The breakfast was yummy and the kids enjoyed the variety. Very warm rooms we slept like babies. Excellent hospitality. Thanks for having us.

Enjoyable stay with breakfast provided but a little expensive. Barbecue facilities available. A short walking distance brings you to the other end of Lake Taupo. It is quite close to the bus stop at Mission Bay. You could arrange with Tony to pick you up and drop you off after your stay. You could ask the bus driver's assistance to drop you off nearer to Tony's Lodge.

Yet another inexpensive B&B, just like many others. It was far from being great, we got a small room and a shared bathroom. The walls are thin so we could hear other guests. Tony, the owner, knew exactly what we need and set up our breakfast the night before our departure so we could leave early.

Really great place. We booked for one night and finally stayed three nights. Tony is friendly and helpfull.

Ideally located just a two minute walk from a perfect swimming spot on Lake Taupo. Located midway between Taupo township and the National Park its easy to plan daytrips to both destinations. Tonys Lodge are booking agents for shuttle bus companys should you be planning hiking the Tongariro crossing. An outdoor BBQ is available for evening cooking as well as a communal kitchen.

An awesome stay for 1 night on our way from Wellington to Auckland. All necessities were met and the provided breakfast was sufficient. Located right next to the lake only 2 minutes walk away and a short distance away from town centres, you get stunning views of the stars on a clear night. Tony was a wonderful host and a pleasure to talk to.

We stayed one night from at Tony's as a stopover. Tony was very hospitable, the room, the bathrooms and toilets were very clean and all amenities were provided. There was also plenty of options for breakfast in the morning.

We were staying at Tony's B&B because it was perfectly located for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Tony was extremely helpful and was able to organise the Tongariro shuttle for us and give us very helpful directions. I would definitely recommend a stay there.

Tony is so nice and he makes you feel comfortable in less than a second. We needed to leave early in the morning for the tongariro crossing and he woke up early just so we could have breakfast anyway. Lovely nightstay! Thanks Tony!

Feels like my 2nd home. Definitely going to stay here. Tony is the man.

Had a great night's stay at Tony's place. Tony is very friendly and a great host. Very chatty and put us at ease. Bedding included electric blankets which was very cosy. Breakfast was included and was excellent. The tarpaulin outside is great for kids to play and enjoy. The only thing which I wish is that Tony would accept credit or debit cards or other non cash methods of payment too.

Friendly staff and guests, clean and warm beds showers and toilets, good entertainment options (books and sky tv). Breakfast was good however guest were not informed of the time it would be served and it was served an hour after the checkout time period began.

We stayed at Tony's for 1 night after doing the Tongariro Mountain Crossing, and we absolutely loved it! From the moment we arrived, Tony and his family couldn't have been more welcoming and lovely. From providing us with towels to have a swim in the lake, to overseeing the BBQ while we cooked our dinner, Tony went absolutely out of his way to make us feel at home. A great place to hang out and chat with a cold beer, lovely comfortable beds, spotless shared bathroom facilities and a delicious breakfast — one of the best places we've stayed in New Zealand. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our 2 dogs were accommodated without any fuss. Was also able to get a slow (8amp) charge for my Outlander PHEV. My daughter enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and playing with Tony's youngest daughter. Breakfast was scrumptious. Shared facilities were very clean. The property is well maintained. Tony went out of his way to make us feel at home.

I never give 5 stars for a review, but I will make this one exception. Tony is an absolute boss. This man makes a beast of a breakfast and always seems to be cheerful. He is full of interesting facts, and always in for a laugh. He seemed genuinly interested in our stories. All in all, Tony is the perfect host. Thanks for the amazing time Tony, even if it was only for one day. The residence itself is very cozy and warm. The moment you arrive it feels like a homecoming. The rooms were clean and so were the toilets and the showers. Next time we'll certainly book again! Kind regards, Jan, Simon and Ezra.
