The location is unbeatable. Close to Taupo lake and a few minutes walk to cafes and bars. Easy to grab a bite to eat any time. Room is quite big with full amenuties. Parking is next to the room we stay. So convenient. Recommend!

Friendly staff & clean rooms. The outdoor spa is awesome on those chilly taupo evenings however, getting out is a challenge bcos of the cold. Although we did have a spa in our room, which was also nice as we even used that aswell. Close to town so is an easy walk to mostly everything e. G. Resteraunts, bars etc… Negatives… It does need a little updating, especially with creaky stairs. But I did enjoy my stay there.

We travelled from Auckland to Rotorua and then Taupo before continuing to further south. And Le Chalet Suisse Motel is by far the best accommodation we checked in to.

Fabulous room but tight parking if you have a long vehicle. Paper thin walls. Kept awake most of the night with rowdy neighbours and management only tried knocking on their door with no response and the noise continued.

Third stay here. Spotless really comfotable accommodation. We will be back again. Handy walking to restaurants and town. Great views. A really well run and very pleasant place to stay.

A pleasant well managed motel. We had a unit with bed,, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor with two bedrooms upstairs. There was restricted lounge space. Some have bedrooms and bathroom upstairs, so be clear about your requirements. Parking may not be alongside the unit. We had a great view of the lake. That does not apply to all units. An easy walk to the town.

Rooms are big. Staff very friendly. Bed linen had a small stain (look like washed out blood). Whirpool was a bit of a disappointment because the jets didn‘t work very well.

Great host & location with a nice lake view and all the local bars & eateries a short walk away. Got a free upgrade when we arrived. Nice place to stay in Taupo.

Perfect location, beautiful veiw and loved the room! The hot tub was perfect for relaxing the muscles after doing long walks/activities. I'll deffinitely want to book here again if I come back to taupo :)

Great apartments — really well located for all the bars, restaurants and shops. There's parking for one car per apartment and the spots are a decent size. The jacuzzi bath was awesome and the toiletries provided were lovely. The beds were super comfy too. There's a pool on site though the weather wasn't good enough to get out and use it but in the height of summer I'd definitely have done so. Only down side were the creaky stairs and tou could hear people walking around next door but nothing else! Staff were really helpful and gave us tips for the area as well as advice for our onward drive to Wellington.

Some of the furnitue is dated with chips and paint missing. No sound proofing between units Got quite embarrassing at times in the evening. I will not be returning.

We love staying at Le Chalet Suisse and have been having holidays here for 12 years. Great units and facilities, friendly staff and amazing lake views. Our family and overseas visitors from England have also enjoyed staying here with us. Highly recommended ☺

Excellent! Well appointed. High standard apart from the spa bath had a fault so we couldn't use it. It didn't spoil our enjoyment of course!

The BEST accommodation I have stayed in New Zealand! The couple are very welcoming and detailed explanation to us what is there in the vicinity… which restaurant is worth visiting and what's around us… upon checking-in will fill us with all the information that we need (e. G. Parking spaces, Wi-Fi and etc…). The room that we got is facing directly Taupo lake and we have a great time there! We got the premium 2bedrm apartment which comes with a jacuzzi tub IN THE ROOM… After the Tongariro walk WE really need a warm tub to soak in… suggestion for additional night explore lake Taupo and to soak all the fatigue away… The Motel is situated away from the busy area, where we like it that way (less crowd) probably 15mins walk (with luggage) from the i-site that allows us to board the InterCity buses to bring us to Wellington.

Front Aprt's thin walls, needs dble glazing due to traffic/truck noise.

Rooms are nice and spacious but a few things let it down. •The curtains were mouldy and damaged •The fridge wasn't the best and froze food •The bedroom was lit up with street lights As said a few minor things that can be easily improved.

Great accommodation for a lads trip to Fieldays. Clean tidy and staff were friendly. Showers were very tiny. But clean, No sky in our room but I don't blame them as sky extorts these small motels. Quite a cool place for young family as they have a pool in summer and it's close to mini put.

(+) Got a room with a great view of the lake. Our room also had menus for a few restaurants in town, which helped us to decide where to go in advance — this saved us a a fair bit of time. (-) Walls a little thin — not much traffic outside, but other guests can get a little noisy.

A great two bedroom apartment, stayed for one night. We where a late arrival and the staff has turned on the heating. Or apartment overlooked the lake and was very spacious. Very close to the main Taupo centre.

The owners were both genuinely kind and friendly people who made our stay perfect. The room was very clean and had all the kitchen equipment we needed. The spa bath in the main room was a lovely touch. Highly recommend, we would stay here again.

Spacious, clean with new appliances. Wanted to give 5 stars for that but the wall between the rooms… Could hear the people next door clearly, even their speaker phone.

A few minor niggles, like heating set on 5C when I arrived, bed a bit lumpy, loose sealant strip lying in the shower. But the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners is outstanding, it's spotlessly clean, has off street parking and the Wi-Fi is free, fast and unlimited.

Great service, beautiful view and warm and cozy rooms. Recommend this motel.
