Great stay here. Its very clean, modern and well looked after. The owners must be the nicest people in all of Taupō. We arrived early and rang to ask if at all possible that we could check in earlier.
The lady was so accommodating, she promised to call us as soon as our room was ready and within 45 mins she had called and we were able to check in 1.5 hours early!
The home baked cookies were a nice touch.
Great views right across from the lake.

Waterfront room looking over to lake. Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Staff lovely with home made cookies to have with a cuppa. Highly recommend.

Most amazing view of the lake!

We booked in at the last minute due to a mix up with another accommodation provider, the hosts were so welcoming and friendly. Clean, warm and modern unit, great utensils in the kitchen, etc. Perfect for a family. Nice toiletries and super handy location. Lovely homemade cookies on arrival! Highly recommended!

staff were friendly clean room their were four of us. Washing Machine and Dryers free
pay $1 for soap power. Has ice machine for happy hour. Across the road was Lake Taupo
and Coffee Van each morning. Walking path all way to town and plenty of eatery. Franky
delivered paper each morning at your door anything we need or information about town he helped us. Tables along front to sit in the morning with a cup and watch sunrises /sunsets. Dixie Brown great place to eat.

Nice view and clean room and importantly staff is very friendly and helpful.

The shop service is thoughtful. Rooms are newly decorated and clean and tidy at reasonable prices. Location is also very good, to the restaurant is very close! We were skiing from Auckland for the snowy mountains, and it was a very satisfying housing experience.

Custermer server ice was very friendly and the accommodations were quite spacious.

It's was nice I stayed in room 10 they had a relaxing spa and overall it was a amazing experience.

The view was great, I checked in with 2 other friends — the staff member at the night of check in was really nice. We were told that checkout time is 10am sharp — which kinda sucked but we were told that's totally normal — I usually checkout by 11 or 12 most places I stay but that's ok. Hardly got any sleep during the night as the fold out bed was like sleeping on a bed of nails — the springs had shifted position because of how old it was and you had bits poking you through the night — maybe a thin matress of some sort would have helped. The next morning during checkout, the guy at the counter asked us how it was — I expressed my concerns about the fold out bed, he looked at be blankly and said 'you read that it's a fold out bed online, they aren't comfortable, what did you expect? ". That's what gives this a 1 star, I run a business and if any of my clients are unhappy for whatever reason — you go out of our way to rectify the situation. I tried to explain that it wasn't a normal level of uncomfortable, he wouldn't have any of it so I just left. I'm in taupo at least once a month, will be booking elsewhere.

Can't be happier. Amazing view of the lake. Wi-Fi is slightly spotty for our unit but we aren't too annoyed by it.

Really fantastic view of the lake! Spacious accommodation with a comfortable bed and we enjoyed the private spa pool in the back. Clean and modern rooms. Laundry machines available.

Had a lovely time. Very comfortable, our hosts were very willing to assist in anyway possible.

Ate lunch in the pub only. Fish and chips brilliant.

We've stayed here a number of times now for the sole reason of the outstanding staff. The amazing home made baking, the lovely owners and the awesome rooms. I cannot fault Gables at all, it is a home away from home. Love the place — will be staying again for certain. 10/10 — if youre thinking about a place to stay in taupo — this is the place to stay.

The motel is just amazing and provides you with everything you need. Not only are the rooms super luxury, it also offers free laundry, free got pool, coffee a s tea and cookies.

3rd year we have stayed at Gables now. Always s great place to come too. Clean, tidy and friendly hosts! Will be back next year too!

Our room has an awesome view of Lake Taupo. We have a sitting/TV room and kitchenette, bathroom and king size bed in bedroom. The room is cozy, nicely painted, clean and neat. Peter, the owner, was very welcoming and informative. Home made cookies and apples in the room are a nice touch.

Best place we have stayed at over the last 7 days. It's huge. Has a lounge room n private bedroom. Has own thermal hot tub. Would highly recommend staying here. Great price for everything u got.

Truly amazing. The hot pools are just amazing. One of the best places that I have ever stayed in.

Only downside is the second bed is a fold out couch. Better Wi-Fi than you have at home. Full mysky. Showers that'll rip your skin off. Great New Zealander runs the joint. Home baked cookies in your room everyday.

Gabes Motel is an amazing place to stay! With friendly staff and wonderful accommodation I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to stay the night in Taupo :D.

Awesome place their rooms are so clean and fresh, loved the hot tub in our own room. Service friendly as and nothing was a problem. We will be back.

Very good place, we all like four, a bed plus sofa bed. Clean and tidy. There is a kitchen ~ there is a big bathtub, the children are very happy to play with water. Good location, very close to the lake.

The couple who run the place are fantastic hosts! We originally booked because of the room's private hot pool but it's the warm hospitality of the hosts that would bring us back.

Comfy, great private large hot tub, lake view and lake access only 20yds. Staff friendly and helpful. Facilities very modern, clean and complete. Definitely stay here.

We have stayed at the Gables twice now and its been absolutely fabulous. Not only is the location fantastic, but Pete and his team are wonderful hosts, who go the extra mile to ensure your stay is awesome. The rooms are spectacularly clean, and come with all you need to have a comfortable stay. Little things like the fruit and biscuits provided each day are a really nice touch. Cant recommend The Gables enough. Thanks again for having us Pete!

While our stay was short, the place was perfect. Every little detail was taken care of. There is a reason it ranks so highly on TripAdvisor!

Thank you for a wonderful stay and for the excellent service demonstrated by Aaron. We left our baby carrier behind at check out a few days ago. We did not realise until Aaron notified us (both by phone and email) and by then we were two hours away. He personally sent the carrier to the nearest courier office so that we could get it back beforw we leave NZ in two days. So thank you so much! We will definitely come back to Gables the next time we visit Taupo.

Had an absolute blast here. The service was great but the best part are the private mineral pools in each room. Perfect way to unwind after hitting the slopes or taking in all the great activities Taupo has to offer.
