No need to write about it, I have communicated with the staff… but they don’t bother to communicate back. Rumour has it they’re not that interested in repeat business and it’s all just transactional. Didn’t tell my husband when he booked that they were coring, didn’t tell him when he arrived at the club house for his tee time either and still charged full rate. Won’t be back.

What a great golf course, lots of bunkers with thick fescue grasses & steep valleys off the fairways, Jack Nicklaus designed with many elevation changes & magnificent views. Some tee shots can be quite intimidating as well as approach shots. Greens are large but some have several tiers & undulations. Greens were quick with many breaks but generally if hit properly stayed online. A great test & experience, trick is to hit to the landing areas.

In great weather outside is place. So reasonably priced for breakfast and lunch. And the coffee makes worthwhile pulling in off the highway. There are great views of the Golf Course and the chalets make an ideal location for weddings and honeymoon.

The golfing experience is superb. We found that a long tee ball certainly helps and missing the fairway is not fatal all the time either. The greens were fast paced for us but there were flat areas around pin placements. Each shot required attention but that’s why we play. The course fits beautifully with the landscape and the prevailing wind enhances the challenge. The debrief and chat at the cafe afterwards was good fun. A tough challenging course but a total pleasure to be out there. We’ll keep coming back.

I organised a High Tea for 3 friends and I at the Castle and had a fantastic experience. Plenty of food, more than one glass of champas (which we were so pleased about) and great coffee. The furnishings were beautiful and of course the setting was amazing. But the best part of our experience was the hosts — Anthony and Peter. Anthony used to Butler for the Clintons and royal family and Peter was security for Duran Duran — in amongst all the other cool experiences and achievements these boys have done. So welcoming and will definitely be back for more. Will try the degustation meal next. Cheers team!

The Kinloch Club is home to one of New Zealand's top-rated championship golf courses. Located a 20-minute drive west of the touristic town of Taupo, the layout is set a kilometre back from the shoreline of Lake Taupo, the country's largest fresh-water lake. Surrounded by the natural beauty of rugged open farmland, the layout also offers panoramic views down to the lake.

What a fantastic course, from the moment you arrive the staff were all so helpful. Course is tough but definitely worth playing, I will be returning.

Brilliant golf course, plenty of challenges around the greens but fairways are wide and easy to hit.

The best briefing I've ever learned. Unfortunately, the course is difficult for ordinary golfers to play. Place in very good condition, even the lunch was good. Max.

I'm glad we played it on a day without wind! Beautiful views, very challenging layout. Long carries to the fairways on some holes. A bit expensive for what it is.

McLaren Auckland customers recently stayed at the Kinloch Lodge and it was nothing but 5 Star. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their time and we look forward to hosting guests here in the future.

Yesterday, we decided to have lunch out somewhere, and while, if I'm honest, this wasn't our first choice, we are very happy to say it is where we ended up. We both selected the venison in red wine pie, which was delicious. And, at just $16, it was excellent value. The room itself is a very pleasant space, with views out onto part of the course, and the staff were lovely. We will definitely eat here again, and have no hesitation in recommending it to you reading this now.

Outstanding ambience service and food.

I can speak to the quality and exquisite style of this golf course. Well maintained 18 hole Links course will challenge even those of us on single figures. I traveled a long way to play this course and nothing about the experience was disappointing. I did however bawk at the price of accommodation at $1, 200 a night as the value didn't seem apparent from calls with staff or what else is on offer in the region.
