Great for summer holiday although a bit crowded, you need to book a year or two in advance to get a spot here.

Awesome campground. Been a couple of times now and we are going back again this summer. Great facilities and friendly staff. The beach is very close and is good for swimming, when we were there the lifeguards were on duty so really good spot for kids. Camp Waipu offers free bodyguards to guests which is a nice bonus. Highly recommended.

Fab little kitchen unit for our family of 4, great showers! Right on the beach and The Cove pub across the road. Delish.

Everyone is friendly and it's well run. The facilities are clean and we'll maintained. The beach and walks are beautiful. There are awesome day trips to glow worm caves and a lovely water fall.

Free Firefly Cave, can also camp, there is water in the hole, so need to wear slippers or more than a pair of shoes. Need to bring lights, flashlights or phone flashes. It's still beautiful to turn off all the lights.

Safe, great location and near to beach, great staff, clean and modern camping. Then there's the beach… awesome for everyone!

This is a camp ground in a great location by the beach. Not cheap, not particularly clean, a bit crowded and noisy. My first experience of having to pay for showers in a holiday park in NZ, in addition to the site fee and I think it would be a better feel if this was all included. We had a tent site, deliberately in the distant corner of the park. Woken around midnight by ranging teenagers and torches. Not dangerous, just annoying. I guess its in an expensive part of the coastline and we stayed at a busy time. Maybe things would be better in the shoulder seasons and not school holidays. Still, there might be better options out there for not much more and next time I would not stay here.

Standard holiday park fare, but nice beach and in a lovely little town.

Generally a very nice campsite, alongside the beach, next to a good store and opposite a wonderful cafe/restaurant. You will have no need to drive anywhere with everything on your doorstep. The only downsides were we weren't very impressed that some cabins had beds already made, whereas others you pay specifically for bedding, only to be given it in laundry bags! (see photo) Also the "$1 for 5 minutes of hot water" showers are actually 1 minute of cold water, 1 minute of luke warm and finally 3 minutes of hot water. Other campsites manage however many minutes of constant hot water, so should they. If my review and photos were helpful to you, please give me a thumbs up Thanks!

A great campsite. Excellent for families and borders the beach. Go here in the off season for a quiet get away.

Love camp waipu cove. Have been here for the last four weekends. Always clean, well looked after great staff. We will be back most likely next weekend!

Got to be one of the best camping spots in NZ, particularly with kids. Beautiful and safe beach just over the sand dunes. Good cafe across the road and a diary.

Good campground with clean facilities set just over a sand dune from a long white sand beach. Been there several times and will go again in our motor caravan. Good cafe nearby.

Specials for winter & tidy camp, kitchen, showers, toilets, playground, laundry extra charge. On edge of beach.

Great location, so many permanent cabins now though. Losing it's sense of community.

This camp has clean, well equipped cabins and facilities. The staff are friendly, and helpful. They have excellent local knowledge and their suggestions of places to explore in the area were much appreciated. The location of the camp is gorgeous. Nothing beats walking along the beach at sunset. Can't wait to come here again.
