We did a wine tasting — our sommelier was so knowledgeable and kind, and the wine was incredible. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous and the view of Te Mata was breathtaking. Would recommend to anyone in the area interested in lovely wine!

Going to a restaurant with no expectations and being completely blown away is a rarity for myself and my partner. Chef Casey is a culinary genius. His attention to detail was extraordinary and the wait staff were more than accommodating. Chef personally came out and delivered our dessert which might I had was amazing using local produce grown on the premises. This was an experience not to be forgotten and highly recommended to anyone willing to let the Chef take control and serve you his honest creations. Paired with local wines handpicked by knowledgeable wait staff. I would more than recomend Craggy Range.

Waited over 20 mins for a tasting and one of the staff actually took my price list away while I was waiting. This is a beautiful location but I'm sorry to find that professionalism and courtesy is lacking from their staff. I watched as they actually ignored a person (who was in the process of buying a not inexpensive bottle) asking a question about their wine. I understand that it gets busy but better customer service (like giving full attention to the customer you are currently helping or letting people know when you need to step away for a moment) would improve the experience here.

Really beautiful building and location. We had their basic tasting, which was very good. Wines were excellent, and the host knowledgable and friendly without being too intruding. However, I felt that 4 wines were not enough given the price of the tasting. It would also have been nice to have had the opportunities to taste their top wines for an additional price (say, an extra $10 to try the Sophia). I came to this winery specifically to try this wine and was very disappointed not to get the chance.

Been to Craggy Range on many occasions but was not impressed this time round. I asked for an ash-tray and received one that was dirty on the outside and had ciggy butts inside… Photos provided. The beef meal I received was extremely salty and I could not finish it… This I mentioned to waitress. Paying top dollar at a top venue demands top quality without fault. Not impressed at all.

One of the best winery experiences in hawkes bay. The food is all sourced locally. Everything is within a half hours drive! The haloumi us from hohepa. The flounder from cape kidnappers. The herbs and salad from their own garden. You are guaranteed freshness! The wine is divine. Order a syrah. You won't be disappointed! The photos are from a garden party I attended for an annual FAWC event which was amazing.

We had 3 in our party have luanchor at Terroir. The meal was simply delightful. After lunch we went to the cellar door for some wine tasting. At first, one of the male staff behind the counter was not friendly and did not approach us immediately. When he did, he gave us a lukewarm greeting. Our party then decided to wine taste with this friendly young lady who is originally from Texas. She was the lifesaver for Craggy. Turned out rather negative experience on its head. We forgot her name but we bought a bottle of wine from her as she was so gracious as a cellar door host. She was knowledgeable and patient, especially with my mother in law who was hard of hearing. Food was great, service was subpar from one but amazing from another. Will come back again one day. Only downside is this place isn't dog friendly. Had to leave our girl in the car while we ate lunch.

Absolutely fantastic. Lodge was immaculate and the wood burner was a good touch. Great welcome with loads of information and the restaurant service and food was second to none. This is all before I mention the view…

A very polished winery, enhanced by being set in amazing scenery.

The staff is very classic and polite. They explained where the wines from, and how is the quality. Definitely will recommend people to come here to taste their wine.

Have intended to make it to Craggy Range for a while but have never been before. The setting is undeniably beautiful and the building itself is a work of art, but that's about where the positivity ends. Both the meals ordered consisted of meat (lamb and beef) and potato, nothing else. The steak came with "packet French fries" which was a little disappointing in a $40.00 meal, and there was no sauce or any such substitute, so the meal was quite dry. The staff had little knowledge of the wines, and the waiter was present only in taking out order. Ended up leaving before they offered us dessert. So yeah, a little disappointed…

Craggy Range is one of the most delectable winery restaurants in the world. Big claim I know however taking into its location, menu, service and wine list one should not visit Hawkes Bay region without visiting. Gourmet food and delicious wine and wonderful decor with views of the range that is unsurpassed. A true diners delight on all fronts. Sets the standards that others try to match. A leader in fine dining at prices that wont hurt the wallet. Not to be missed.

Absolutely beautiful setting. On a fine day the range looks fantastic. Tasting are a bit steep, but free if you buy. The staff really know their stuff, and have a good history of the wines and flavours you're getting.

Food was excellent but tiny portions. Wine was very good and waiters knew about wine. However, the service was good but unprofessional. For example, all waiters were very nice and friendly but orders were forgotten, not delivered or delivered late. We were overcharged for items we never got (like extra chips), owner didn't want us to pay using two credit cards (we had 15 people table) in any way (which is OK in NZ in general), they didn't even charge us for the right table. Common — simple organisation guys!

Food is excellent and the view is second to none. However, the service was unprofessional and junior staff not well trained. We wrote to the management after our visit in January and received no reply. No comparison to the restaurant at Mission Estate Winery where we had lunch a day later.

Everything is fantastic starting from the setting, the service through to the best fondue I have ever had for the entree and so delicious merino lamb loin with artichoke main. Desert was not needed as we were too full. We will definitely come back!
