Drinks with friends at the bar, their finger food is great, a good variety. Nice and clean place with great staff and facilities to match. Dinner was buffet and choices were good, even for vegetarian friends of mine.

Comfortable rooms that have everything you need for a short stay. Small gym onsite. Lovely, welcoming staff that are very helpful. Prime location for events at Logan Campbell Centre/ASB Showgrounds, walkable distance. You must pay to park your car at the hotel.

Had a business conference here, didn't stay over. Nice lunch and coffee etc. Good rest room facilities and parking was fine (pay parking however). It wasn't overcrowded at the time and I thought the event was well hosted by Novotel. Please give this review a thumbs up if it was useful at all.

Bed is worn out. TV quality very poor. Bad signal and size small. Picture doesn’t go to edge of TV screen indicating a modified signal deteriorating the clarity to the degree not worth watching. Aircon noisy and light in panel very bright at night. Bar staff not properly trained or service minded, but other staff very friendly. Buffet at $59 was good, breakfast a bit average. Paying $300/night for a superior room not living up to expectations.

Excellent sercive, room are clean and breakfast is awesome. Love the food. Overall it has been a great experience with their outstanding staff.

Our young family recently stayed here due to the close proximity to the Mt Smart stadium venue. The place was amazing. The service from everyone from the reception to housekeeping was first class. Will definitely be staying here again next time we come up.

All you can eat buffet is amazing! Great garden… Lovely family destination. Great menu. Friendly staff.

Good hard to find with the GPS a bit removed from the city.

Friendly atmosphere, very busy , but staff still attentive and helpful. Had problem with door to room. Key card failed 3 nights in a row. Each time card was replaced no problems, but had to retrace steps to reception. Eating from the bar menu was prompt, in comparison to the restaurant. No complaints on the food. Rooms comfortable and quiet.

Very pricey for what it is. Very confused staff who had no idea what was happening with mine and friends booking and free breakfast. Some staff went above and beyond to be helpful others went above and beyond not knowing what they were doing!

Attended a conference today. Front desk very friendly, great customer service. Restaurant staff (women) sadly let you down tables not cleared of used crockery, kept running out of milk on coffee machine. Ran out of food at lunch time buffet. Had to go & find staff to resolve our issues. I expected a higher level of service.

Nice friendly professional staff. Had a massive T bone steak at the restaurant which was very nice. Clean rooms.

Great restaurant with buffet breakfast and dinners. Friendly staff and excellent service. We visit often as a couple and also with friends in a group.

I arrived at check-in behind a very large party of tourists. One of the staff spotted me at the back and beckoned me to move past the large party — she could see that arriving late after a long journey, I was very tired. She asked politely whether I would like room service, and rang through to the kitchen to ensure that my order would get priority. The room service dining was top-notch and with a complimentary glass of wine. Just wonderful and responsive service.

Second visit here. Just keeps getting better. Rooms are comfortable, spacious, and well appointed and quiet! Restaurant menu is good, and breakfast is comprehensive. Great place to be. Fab staff. Go here — you'll be pleased you did.

Fantastic Stay. Everything Wonderful. Friendly, professional and helpful staff. Food amazing. Room lovely. Thank-you! However — only reason it is not a 10 — no window to open and too stuffy. Air conditioning doesn't really do the same job and just makes air too dry.

Reception was ok, although slow, nice to receive a voucher for 2 complimentary drinks — which unfortunately we forgot to use to put against our bar tab — an automatic credit on the final bill would have been easier. But it was a nice touch. Bar menu has changed and not as easy to provide tapas for the group we were entertaining of 10+ people. Don't think you had enough bar staff on, one poor guy was trying to look after everyone … he did well considering, but had to wait a while to be served. Miss your salt and pepper squid — that was a winner! But overall had a good stay. Keep up the great work, thanks guys.

We arrived at check approximately half an hour early, took reception a little while to find us a room. Nice room was found with an outlook. TV was fuzzy but it was great to have a working clock, beds very comfortable pillows good. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant both were off good standard. Check out was efficient and speedy. Another good stay.

This property is old, vicinity to the city is poor. Hardly any restaurants around. Staff is excellent. I was welcomed very well, and also great interactions during the stay. Extremely limited choice in food menu in restaurant and bar. Liked your laundry option, news paper service and supplies. I think the property needs major upgrade.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Novotel. Everyone was friendly, helpful and polite, from the Reception staff to the restaurant staff and the cleaning crew. I was especially impressed with the young Russian waiter who remembered what we'd ordered on previous nights and make recommendations for us. Also the wonderful cleaning staff member who overheard me ask if anyone had thrown out a newspaper and went off especially to find me one. These touches make for a very memorable stay. Thanks.

Rooms are OK, TV reception is below average and the sleep button not working on the remote is a PITA. I find the shower heads to be too high, and I can't adjust the temperature as high as I like it (I like VERY hot showers). Pillows are too soft for my liking (But you can order others). This sounds a bit negative, but really it's only nit picking. Rooms are clean and tidy and well laid out. Bar is good (New enclosed outdoor area is cool) and service is good. All in all I am Satisfied with my stay.

Had a firm confirmed paid for booking for a Executive Room King Bed but given a standard twin bed room instead — no forewarning, no explanation or reason, no recompense. Some body flogged my room to somebody else! Are these people corrupt?

Nice location with good service, parking can be challenging if not staying at hotel.

WE enjoyed our stay. The only part we didn't quite like was that Whilst your invitation on upgrading through email stated that it would cost around $90+ when we checked in we were told it would be $110+ because the Junior suite was booked for 2 nights during our stay and therefore we could have the junior suite but we had to pay an extra $20 to the email offer price. We just feel no good will was shown on your part.

Sitting here at a wedding — came all the way from USA expecting great things and a taste of Kiwi food. The buffet dinner kept running out of food and people kept asking where the food was. The beef was so tough — everyone at our table left it and didn't eat it. They changed the chicken midway through everyone still getting food from plain chicken to some sort of Indian watery tandoori and the flavor was so strange — it didn't go with the rest of the buffet. Even weirder was that the bridal table had to get up and get their own food from the buffet. I would not recommend this place for a function and absolutely avoid this place for a wedding. The plates at my table are still not cleared and the bride and groom have already cut the cake! I'm just happy I'm not staying here. It's a little odd that this hotel only offers 1 hour of free Wi-Fi. How are we supposed to post and stream our memories in real time? Lastly, there is no sense of urgency or sense of importance for a once in a lifetime event such as a celebration of a marriage. Unfortunately everyone is going to remember this experience of having bad food and service. I'm sorry bride and groom. We write this in hopes for future celebrants to be aware of what to expect.

Very nice hotel with clean and modern rooms. Professional staff. Highly recommended.

Just a one night stay. Rooms were clean and functional but the one we stayed was very compact — so compact with the large bed taking up nearly the entire lounge. TV was pretty small and when we tried to use it, we kept getting pay for view channels with no logical way to escape them. I won't be in a hurry to stay here again.

Had the best time here. My mother in laws birthday was also held at the Novotel and the service was exceptional. Very hard to find service where staff had a smile on their faces the whole entire time. You made my mothers night the most special one she would not forget. Thank you for taking care of our family. The hotel was perfect especially with all the children we had with us. Highly recommend.

Convenient parking for event goer's ($6), function rooms to hold events as well. Good location if you do not wish to be living in the central city during your stay in Auckalnd.

We flew into NZ in the evening and got to the Hotel quite late. We ate in the restaurant. The food was very nice, the price OK. But the most outstanding was the young waiter who served us. Faizal was friendly, welcomed us to the country, gave us tips on what to see and where to go. He is obviously well trained in hospitality and has left a lasting impression on us. The other staff were friendly and helpful, but Faizal was exceptional.

We really felt like very special guests from the moment we stepped into the foyer until we left the next day. We had excellent service from competant and just lovely staff, everyone was so helpful and accommodating. Our room was great, had everything we required plus we overlooked the airport and even saw our daughter's plane arrive from London at the crack of dawn. How cool is that and we couldn't hear a thing right next to the airport! Amazing.

We were a party of 10 that attended the breakfast and easter egg hunt (07/04/12). I was utterly disappointed with how the event panned out. The restaurant appeared to have sold vouchers for breakfast well over what they could comfortably seat (400 + hotel guests) in the 5 hours available for breakfast. A line that went for perhaps 30 or 40 metres to the restaurant reception greeted us, after getting to reception we were asked to wait, 30 minutes later we were seated (but only after asking a very helpful manager of some sort), the food was great when you could get it, it was a race of course, most items were empty within seconds. To top that off the egg hunt afterwards was just a battle to get close to the easter bunnys giving the eggs away. The staff were very good considering the situation, and I was curious about the restaurant here having been to a couple other Accor hotel restaurants but I likely will not come again.

My husband and I booked a nights accommodation, advised we would be checking in at midnight or after due to flying into Auckland from Australia, Confirmed the booking a month out, confirmed again the week before we were to arrive — were told not a problem. Arrived at 12.30am — they were over booked and since we had not arrived by 8pm our booking was canceled. We had a 9am meeting at the ASB Showgrounds — and no accommodation — they were fully booked and told us they couldn't help us we would need to find another hotel at 12.30am — We refused to leave and sat down in the lobby and prepared to sleep on a couch. The hotel said we couldn't do that! eventually the night manager came and said he was sorry for the confusion — he could get us a room at a hotel in Downtown Auckland — we had no car, no public transport and a $30taxi ride minimum to get to the city and still had to be back at the ASB showgrounds at 9am — we refused and said we would stay on the couch it was closer to where we had to be in 7.5 hours. By 2.30am they found us a room we could sleep in.
