Nice hotel within walking distance to downtown. The were accommodating to us when we got in early and our room wasnt ready yet. Restaurant and bar on site and lounge.

Had a very terrible experience from checking in to this hotel, the Duty Manager had no idea what he was doing on his very first night on the job and I can't understand why he was on his own if he was training! The bond payment of $100 had to be processed 3 times as he could not get the machine going, after the fourth attempt it was processed successfully, paid for a parking permit onsite and there was hardly any parking so I had to park in the taxi rank parking! I was checked into the wrong room as it was not the room I originally booked. I missed out on the free buffet after the first night which was included in my booking seeing this guy had no idea about it and yet I showed him proof from my phone! There was no compensation of the wrong room and my missing out on the free breakfast buffet! The only positive thing about this experience was from another gentleman by the name of Logan who was very accommodating and understanding, he assisted us on the night which was great! Apart from that I don't think I will use this hotel in the future given the unfortunate experience I have had!

My wife and I had a really great stay here. The room wasn't huge but was pretty much ideal for us. The bed was comfortable and the location was good as we like to walk around a bit.

The hotel is in a nice position for shopping and ferries. We had a room on the 5th floor looking out over the port. It was quite except for the occasional lorry. Staff pleasent and helpful. Room clean and got serviced well. The breakfast was the only let down. Occasionally had to wait for trays to be filled.

The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've stayed in. Maybe I've got the lucky room? That aside, the shower floods into the room & onto the carpet. Food in the hotel restaurant is average. Recommend going into town for dinner.

The food was very good, the rooms were not completely up to date. But that was everywhere in the country with exceptions. Is not a German standard.

A very handy location within walking distance of the CBD. Decent size rooms with a super king size bed. The bathroom is dated with the shower over the bath and no hand rail to assist the climb into the bath. For a tall person to shower requires a bend over to wash the hair as the shower head is very low. Apart from the bathroom a very comfortable room.

Great place. Nice and tidy, exactly what we needed for the night. Room has aircon and mini balcony for fresh auckland air. Closet town. Bathroom was decent. Downstairs breakfast I really enjoyed, not to badly priced.

The Copthorne wasn’t bad; it just wasn’t great either. The food in the restaurant was a little average. I wouldn’t rush back there but wouldn’t kick up a fuss if I was put there either. It’s really hard to put my finger on why this place didn’t resonate with me.

Spacious rooms, helpful and welcoming staff, convenient location.

Staff very friendly, room large and clean. The hallway and the staircase are better cleaned or even renovated. Restaurant was positive, very friendly service and the food was very good.

Alrighty, To start off with the reception was absolutely superb. Great people with amazing customer service. The buildings carpark was full but they did give us a ticket to park in a parking building about 200m down the road. The only downside was there was only two cups and saucers in a room with three of us. We did ask for another mug via calling reception and one was sent up immediately. Other than that, it is a very good place to stay if you are going to Spark Arena.

The hotel room is a little small, the mini bar is not filled, the cleanliness leaves much to be desired, the Toilletenspülung falls almost from the wall and hardly any storage space in the bathroom. The hallway in the hotel does not smell pleasant. The food in the restaurant is OK and the location of the hotel is quite good.

Room looks old. Washroom needs renovations/ updates. I wonder, I have seen other properties of Copthorn but this one is the worst. I heard good about it in Canada but shocked after checking in. This property is in the heart of Auckland but it doesn't fit to what is expected of it. Beware, don't go by name. I am posting some pics and will add some later.

It now gets four stars from us. At first we were in a room that had no options to open a balcony door or a window. The aircondition was also quite loud. However, the staff had us moved to another room where you could open the balcony door. Breakfast was also relatively good. So… Hotel has certainly seen better times. Yet four stars is ok.

The room was very nice and the mattress was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on at a hotel.

Good situation within walking distance of town centre and marina. Poor view of mainly industrial area. Staff welcoming.

I stayed there for a work conference thay was held at the hotel. There was nothing really bad, it is just very basic. The rooms were a little tight to move around and the amenities were very minimal but it has everything you'd need. Service was fine; the staff were friendly and helpful.

Staff are super awesome! Rooms… Just meh. Nothing special. Room service, great. Clean. Food… so, so. Nothing to write home about, but all and all a positive experience.

Stayed here to go to cirque du soleil. Great walking distance to Spark Arena. We stayed for breakfast. Breakfast team were lovely and helpful with gf and df allergies. Be warned $20 per perdon tho. That said they don't tell u it costs $20 per day extra on top of ur room to park ur car. PLUS they make u park it ur self 200m down the road at a parking garage and u literally have to walk back up the hill to get back. Not fun after your flight in! They were not clear on this until we were checking out. It was a little run down and the blanket on the bed was very thin. Next time we will pay the extra to go to the Langham. Thanks anyway.

Awesome location. Clean and comfortable rooms. Thoroughly enjoyed my meals.

A bit of a let down, There is a certain expectation that a Copthorne hotel will provide a clean and sanitary room. In our first room, the tea mugs had been cleaned but still had a tea / coffee residue at the base. But most concerning was the toilet seat. The seat and lid of the seat was old and actually flaking. I am unsure as to how this could be kept sanitary, but how did it pass any possible quality control. We were looked after and allowed to change room, I do wonder if the toilet seat will ever be changed though. Very disappointed.

Was a cool place to stay. Very good food.

Did not have a very good time at the Copthorne on Anzac Avenue. The staff were friendly but the food and room service was terrible! The buffet breakfast was bad-the mini crossaints were as hard as bricks, the eggs were undercooked and had no taste whatsoever and the French toast was barely soaked in egg to mention a few things at breakfast. Then when we decided to order room service for dinner, they said there would be a half hour wait. Half an hour later we called, then an hour later, then an hour and a half later and still no dinner had been delivered! So eventually we went downstairs as we couldn't wait any longer and my little sister was starving — for them to finally come up later and say that they only had one cook in the kitchen! If they had told us this to begin with it would have been fine and we would have ordered elsewhere. Grrrr would NOT stay here again. The rooms were outdated like others have said but I guess it's why this place is cheaper than others. Also the parking is a squeeze and it's first in first serve so if you miss out there is parking down the road and hope you don't get caught in the rain!

Good front counter service, quick and helpful. Warm comfy and food on site. Amazing view.

The hotel leaves a bit to be desired with limited parking onsite and a busy reception area that seems under staffed at crucial check out times. The do have an additional parking about 200mts down the road for an additional $15 per night, which would have been fine if not for the torrential rain when we checked in and no undercover walkways between the parking and the hotel. We had breakfast included with our room rate and sadly this was one of the saddest hotel breakfasts I've had in a while. Bone Dry bread, tasteless unappetising hot food, sliced fruit that looked old and crusty like it had not been uncovered over night in the fridge and a deli selection that was not restocked the entire time we had breakfast. Despite not physically paying extra for breakfast, this service needs a major overhaul if its to give any value to the overall experience. The saving grace was the cleanliness of the rooms and despite their being a party a few door down from us, once we were in our room with the door closed, we could not hear them. Which wouldn't have really mattered because the noise from the air conditioning unit in our room thoroughly drowned out my sorrows.

I returned on the second night of the stay and the room hadn't been serviced. I told reception on my way out for dinner and she said 'oh hasn't it' and started typing on her computer. I come back and find the room in the same state but with new towels and milk dumped in front of the tv. The bathrooms are very dated. I had to hold on the button to make the toilet flush: as soon as you release it the water stops. The shower is connected wrong so turning it toward the blue makes it hotter.

This place is a joke… never have I stay in such a crappy place that cost so much. Staff were good at the start but by the end of my stay they were also a joke. Still waiting for a call back re my complaint, I pretty much gave my money away. We didn't even stay the night. I would never recommend staying here ever, what a waste of money there are alot of better places to stay. Also dated room and hot water in the shower states it cold but it boiling hot not good for kids or anyone, dont stay even if its cheap, I have stayed at better camping grounds. My rating if I could put one would be negative 10

A nice standard hotel in the CBD. Unfortunately the Wifi was very expensive so I'd recommend consider using your own data.

Unfortunately it ruined a special birthday night. We paid $252 so we thought it would be lovely. We were in town to see Neil Diamond. We arrived at 3pm so expected our room would be ready as it had been fully booked and paid for from our travel agent at Harvey Travel. The room wasn't ready;told us it would be 15 minutes and gave us drink vouchers. They were a joke;so watered down they may have just been coloured water. We went back to reception 20 minutes later;housekeeper hadn't got back to them so they gave us another room. Apparently there was a problem with the carpet in the original room. We went to room they gave us No103. We went in to find the room wasn't the Superior room we had booked but a disgusting shabby room with holes in the walls that had been poorly patched up, doorway roughly undercoated and toliet seat with the plastic peeling off of it everywhere;the tiles behind the toilet had no apparent grout around them and looked ready to fall out anytime. Toilet seats are less than $20! The beds were two singles! We had stipulated a queen at least. We then went back to the reception and brought the porter up to the room and showed him the less than acceptable room and said we want another one. He came back a few moments later and we were moved to the room along the hall. It had a king bed and was in a slightly better condition. However we have stayed in place where we have paid $130 per night and they would leave this place for dead!

Great hotel clean and tidy, great location not far to walk into town and Queens whalf would certainly come back again.

The worst Hotel that we have stayed in Auckland. The staff were rude and unhelpful. They ran out of food and closed the bar after the Eagles concert, so no food and drinks for cold, wet and hungry concert goers, of which, there were many of us The four night that we stayed there 14th to the 19th March, the staff seemed disinterested and unfriendly. The bathroom was shabby. I would never recommend this hotel, even the taxi drivers have nothing good to say about it.

Nice people at reception but the rooms are wayyyy tired the bathroom had a hole in the ceiling, the book in the room said they had a minibar in the room, which didn't exist, cracked tiles in the bathroom, stains here and there. Overall, Copthorne want to charge at standard Auckland rates but offer a rather lesser product. This place really needs a tidy up, there are better hotels for the money.

Had a horrible experience with Copthorne Hotel on Anzac Ave. Rooms are uncomfortable and really small. Service was very bad. Very bad experience. Wouldn't recommend to anyone to go there. Worst hotel I ever stayed in. Some cheaper motels are way better than this. Especially if you are going with your family, please don't go there. You will hate your whole vacation. It's that bad.

Great location, good food, good service, generally a good experience. Totally tainted by having $100 taken from my account that has not yet been returned, and now my holiday is over. I could've done with that $$$ for my holiday : (
