Casa Julia

It is confusing how Casa Julia is so highly rated. The room was VERY tight… only place to set suitcases was in front of exit/entry door. Photos show amount of space on either side of the bed (for two). We booked months in advance. Low quality furnishings and poor cleanliness. Breakfast was poor and service was very poor. Issue with bill caused delay at checkout. I would not recommend.

The room is large and the common areas are nicely appointed. However, I'd warn that this is not a place to stay if you have trouble sleeping with loud noises. Most of the rooms have windows facing a central courtyard where people party and talk very loudly on some nights. The hotel has no staff from 8pm until morning, so there is no way to stop the partying in the central courtyard. I get that staffing a hotel after hours is expensive, so a compromise would be for the hotel to lock up the central courtyard after dark. People can smoke on the front street areas if they need to. There is no need for Casa Julia to make it easy for people to yell, drink, and smoke in the central courtyard around midnight. I mentioned this to the staff the next morning, but they provided no solution, not even a complimentary breakfast or some token gesture for my inconvenience and lack of sleep. To add insult to injury, they asked me to pay the city tax a second time, even though I already paid it and had a receipt for it. Overall, this hotel has a lot of potential, but some minor corrections to how the staff handle situations would have been greatly appreciated. It isn't their fault that people were partying in the courtyard but the hotel's policies enable it. If they want to have the courtyard open past 8pm they should consider staffing the front desk longer so they can lock up that area when the staff goes home or can confront guests who are being overly loud.

My partner was less happy than me, but for my point of view it was a very good experience overall. The room is very small but it serves its purpose and is enjoyable.

Tiny bedroom and bathroom could only get out of one side of the bed as the other was against the window. You literally could not swing a cat. The bathroom was tiny to say the least. It was all very clean but VERY clostraphobic and hot.

Clean and Comfortable! Super quiet and safe. I felt at home right away. Super nice room with cozy bedding. The clerk made it possible for me to check in early. I was very tired at this point of my trip, so I greatly appreciated this! Just a super relaxed vibe.

I have just spent 3 nights at Casa Julia. While I found the room itself to be more than expected (dressing gowns provided, pen knife), plenty of toiletries), I was very disappointed by the following: my room was not serviced at all on the Friday, my first day there, even though I had mentioned this to the receptionist in the early afternoon; while a very handy kettle, cups, sugar and milk were provided, there was no tea or coffee to accompany the sugar, milk, cups and kettle; I found the staff to be surly and unhelpful, an indication to me that they are unhappy with management/owners. Management need to remedy this and then Casa Julia could be transformed into a venue that I would wish to stay at every time I visit Delft.

Perfect staying for solo business trip, specifically, if you need to daily commute/walk to Delft university. Very kind stuff, good room, cosy common/dinning area with good breakfast. Certain vegan option avaliable. Coffe/tea avaliable also during the day.

Stayed for two nights at Casa Julia.
We found the room to be super small. We could barely find space to open our suitcases. It could have had a cozy vibe. However, the room was actually pretty cold during the night; we had pretty thin blankets and had to request another one the next day.
Pillows and bed were also not very comfortable.
The shower pressure was very low. However, the shower amenities were quite nice.
We had breakfast for the first morning (19.50pp), which was appalling for the price.
The service itself was friendly – however, we were overcharged when we checked in on the first night, and there was some confusion about the payment when we checked out.
The location was very handy for us as we were visiting the university.

I loved my stay in Casa Julia. The staff is very professional and nice. Everything was perfect, although I would suggest changing the pillows, which were not very good. The location is perfect, a short walk to city center, close to restaurants and shops.

We stayed for 6 nights. Our room was dirty to say the least. The shower curtain was filled with black mold at the bottom. At first we thought it was just wet but the next day the spots remained and it had a nasty smell. Also in the description of the room included a mini bar, which was nowhere in the room and the same apllies to the iron. Our sheets were never changed during our stay. We had a temporary hot water and heating problem and the stuff didn't provide us with an alternative (fortunately it was fixed in the same day). Also the cleaners left their stuff in our room.

Small, but extremely cozy. Only thing I can note is that the supply of breakfast food was slightly limited (they ran out of bacon and eggs on Sunday. ) The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the amenities were perfect for a couple's weekend getaway.

The smaller size of this hotel and friendly staff makes it feel more like a bed and breakfast place than a hotel. Which is a good thing! We stayed for two nights and found it to be quite enjoyable. The place was very clean and our room, which we received a free upgrade, was spotless. Thanks very much to Jamie at the front who welcomed us and was very friendly. The breakfast was good and just what a person would need to start the day. Nice little quiet courtyard to have a drink and relax in was a nice bonus. The hotel is about 12-15 minute walk from the train station and about the same to the sites to see in the town itself. Big bonus is the two minute walk to the Royal Delft Museum around the corner which was actually quite fascinating to see. The Museum also has a nice little restaurant there with outside garden to enjoy.

Excellent place. Friendly, clean and good-sized rooms. Great and quiet location. We arrived by bike and were given good options of where to keep them overnight.

It is really nice staying in this hotel. The staff is friendly and the hotel itself radiates a cozy charm that instantly makes you feel at home. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a comfortable and inviting place to stay.

Casa Julia have a nice location, just between city centre and the university campus! The rooms are very confortable, cozy and with a nice design. All staff is very friendly and provides great support! I reaaly enjoyed this experience, it is highly recommended!

Charming small hotel conveniently located to the university, good for business or personal travel. It’s super quiet due to being on a residential street with no restaurants or stores. The room is rather tiny, perfect for a person travelling alone in my opinion. Bed was comfortable, I slept very well!
The breakfast is also notable, with cute little glass vases of yogurt, gluten free stuff that is high quality, even smoked salmon!
The breakfast room/ lounge is cozy and nice to sit in the evening instead of the room.
