We were traveling with our 2 grand-kids (4 and 7 yrs old) and stayed in the King 1 bedroom suite. It was a perfect suite for the 4 of us, with a king bed, and a full double davenport. The pool facility was excellent for the kids (but beware that pool is about 1.5 meters deep everywhere) so if your kids need flotation devices bring them. As the pool / sauna / steam room are open from 0600 till 2200, there was also a nice window for time with just adults.
We also had dinner at the restaurant and made use of the room service which was entirely satisfactory. Staff was friendly and helpful and really made you feel welcome.
The kids also loved it and want to return. We will not disappoint them!
Great Stay with Stunning Views – But Room Service Needs Serious Attention.
The location is amazing—peaceful, scenic, and perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The view from the hotel is a definite highlight! That said, getting there can be a bit tricky. Public transport involves both train and bus connections, and ride-share options like Uber or Bolt can get a bit pricey.
The spa and pool area were fantastic—clean, well-maintained, and super relaxing. A great way to recharge!
However, I did run into a few issues that took away from an otherwise pleasant stay:
• Room service was incredibly slow, and trays left outside guest rooms—including across from mine—sat there from the afternoon until late the next night without being cleared. This wasn’t just a one-time issue; other reviews mention the same.
• The 24/7 room service menu is misleading. While it claims to offer full meals, in reality, the only item available was pizza—not ideal when you expect more variety, especially late at night.
• The bar is advertised to stay open until midnight, but when I returned to the hotel on a Tuesday night, it was already closed. The reason? The only bartender was off that day, and the front desk was short-staffed.
It’s a shame because the property itself is lovely and has a lot of potential. If the service side—especially room service and staffing—were improved, this would easily be a top-tier stay.

We stayed there 2 nights before Christmas and really liked it. The swimming pool is relatively big comparing to other Double tree hotels. The food in the restaurant was tasty but very limited choice if you stay 2 nights. Breakfast was very good. You can order omelet and some other small dishes during breakfast. Amersfoort and Utrecht reachable within 20 mins by car.
