Nice and very friendly staff, but the hotel is old and the rooms are extremely small — container style barracks.

Nice service, good breakfast, room was good. There was no prior notification. I can only recommend.

Old fashioned hotel, has 3 stars, friendly staff, moderate rooms but grest location in the city center.

A very nice hotel very old furnished anyway nice. It is located in the middle of the city Den Helder. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Breakfast very good and reasonable choice. You are even asked if you want omelette or scrambled eggs. In the hotel there is also a bar where you can sit comfortably in the evening. Sea is about 1 km away. The beach is about 5 km away.

I was put in a room right off the street with no heat and very loud. I mentioned the heat issue but no one seemed to care. Or business as usual. There seemed to be an attitude of not really caring if you received good service or not by a few of the hotel staff.

Great place to stay for the night! Nice and warm, tons of space, quiet as well. Extremely close to the station, couldn't be any closer! No noise, it's well thought out.

Very old hotel with uncomfortable beds, meager breakfast and bad restaurant. Also the showers have no pressure and the Wi-Fi is very spotty. Only giving two stars because the staff was very friendly.

We were only there in the restaurant.
The staff spoke very good German, and also gave us a direct German menu. We ordered from the map a chini. — and tomato soup and bread with 3 encampments. The soups were homemade and delicious, the bread was freshly baked. I had a biscuit at my latte Machiato, which directly plastered our little 4 year old daughter, when asked if I could get another one for her, the waitress is quickly losgeflitzt and directly brought one.
So mostly very satisfied, only for the prices I give a star deduction.

Food bad, Overpriced. Dirty tables and glasses… I wonder where the three stars are supposed to come from!?

Old fashioned hotel with out any modern trimmings. Noisy, small room, staff are not very attentive. Breakfast is very poor.

Bit old, but everything's working fine and it's a good place to stay. Restaurant has a few options, but really good ones!

I didn't like this hotel at all! I could not find my room then I was told that I had to walk behind the bar through the red door. As I was unpacking, some man came in the room and said he needed to fix the toilet paper holder in my room, he never even knocked, he had a set of keys and let himself in. My room faced an alley and people drove through the alley to make deliveries to the kitchen right next door. It was noisy and hot but if I opened the window, I could hear the kitchen staff talking and the cars in the alley. I would never, ever stay here again.

Tiny rooms. I've stayed here dozens of times with work, once spent a week here. On a few occasions I've had to step over the toilet to get to the shower. It's massively dated. The stairs are stupidly steep and the lifts really slow and should be in a museum. Things are just awkwardly layed out, like so that you try and open a cupboard door and it hits the bed frame. Beds are stiff and the springs can stick in you. The room temperature never seems to be right — too cold in winter and too hot in summer. The lighting is very dim so at night you strain to see in the room. I assume this yellowy glow is in keeping with the style of the place and trying to match the feel of having candles in the days before electricity. It's well positioned right next to Den Helder Station which is handy, however it does mean a lot of street noise if you have the window open to try and cool down. Years ago the food was really good here but nowadays it's seemed to have slipped so I tend to eat elsewhere. On a positive note, on the whole, the staff are nice enough, most rooms now have a decent sized flat screen HD TV and the free Wi-Fi works well enough. I believe that the same family run Hotel Den Helder which is a 2 min taxi ride or 10min walk down the road. This in my mind is a much better hotel, with more space. I will stay here again and again as many offshore companies book here, I assume they get a good deal.

Some rooms are gloomy and dark, Wi-Fi connection in the room poor, but the restaurant is very nice, good food, helpful staff.

Was booked into the hotel by the company I work for, rooms are fine clean and a good size, food is good and staff friendly, weather was great so sitting outside the front with cold beer was nice.

Don't stay in room 113. I received numerous bed bug bites. There was no other vacancies at the hotel or else where in town. Horrible experience.

Only stopped the one night, but found all staff very helpful, quiet room & loads of breakfast to choose from :)

A pretty nice Hotel with good food but some of the rooms; especially the ones to the back of the Hotel; are not that great.

Not so bad. For sleeping and to avoid the bad weather in North Netherlands is ok. Parking is just in the back and the train station just in front. Well comunicated to the city centre for a walk or to go shopping.

My family and I had a lunch in the restaurant at this hotel this summer.
1 we asked for a food for the two-year child. We got a plate of French fries with ketchup and sharp fried "meatballs".
2. We asked the price of the salad bar and were amazed — for us it was free, because we had ordered some food. We asked again. Yes, that is really the case! Wonderful — the child could eat something now. We have tried something. But when we asked for the Bill, the waitress told us all of a sudden that it was a mistake and that she would have still 15 euros for 3 persons at the salad bar. Despite all the evidence, we should pay the sum. So it was written, in the Dutch-speaking menu it has declared us.

Very nice rooms and a good restaurant and a bar.
