Fantastic facilities and staff, it's really more like a hotel than a hostel in many ways. The only reason that it looses one star is because it's a fair distance out of the old town of Amsterdam — I'd recommend hiring a bike from the rental place next-door to get around while you're here because O-Bikes are non-existent and PT fares aren't cheap. I had a great time here, and it's one of the cheaper, but still nice places to stay if you're on a budget.

Really good location a little far from the center but nothing that public transport or a bike can't solve. Clean and nicely groomed rooms. Most of the staff was helpful and kind, specially the ones in the restaurant. They have a lot of information and a computer in the lobby in case you need to search something and you are out of data.

Lovely rooms. Very nice looking, though fairly simple. Very comfortable bedding, and fresh clean sheets supplied on arrival. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fairly decent bar downstairs. Main issue was the lack of air-conditioning. The room was always boiling when we arrived home in the evenings unless it was after 1am/2am. There were thermal blackout curtains which helped, but it was still an issue. The toilet and shower were in separate rooms which was handy as I was sharing with a number of people. Maintained and clean and in a very acceptable condition. Had no issues with noisy neighbors. Great experience overall. Would definitely recommend this place especially for groups. Will be returning soon.

Rooms are very spacious, modern and clean. Would be made better with more ventilation in the summer. Good social areas and the bar is reasonably priced at happy hour. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Easy public transport links to the old town.

We arrived 3 hours before check-in but the hotel staff locked our bags up free of charge so we could go explore while we waited for the room to be cleaned, as well as holding onto them after we checked out and waited for an evening flight. Super nice of them! There's a happy hour on drinks every evening, and a nice kitchen that will make pizzas or burgers for dinner. Room was quite and we slept well, however that might not have been the case had we neighbors, as the walls were very thin in a newly renovated area. Overall it was very clean and lovely and we enjoyed our stay.

Amazing Staff, very helpful and cooperative. Very lively environment. Good room and facilities. Great crowd. Well connected via tram, metro station is a 15 min walk though. But the tram takes you to Dam square in ~20 mins and its right next to the Hotel. Highly recommended.

Big hostel, rooms are good. For hotel food, it's too expensive, eat abroad.

I do not know the highest marks because it is not really a hostel… if it is more a hotel for young people. In any case the organization is impeccable the rooms are clean and quite large. The water was warm and the time of the room perfect… So if you're looking for a great place to stay in Amsterdam book.

Very nice location for a short trip. The inside of the building is quite large and you may get lost. The rooms are ok. Showers and toilets are in the rooms, but one toilet for 8 people might be a bit stressful especially in the morning. Basins are outside the toilets, which is good as well. Don't expect a super clean room but over all a good place to stay for a few days. The staff is also very nice and the reception is open 24/7. So if you need a towel in the middle of the night feel free to buy one.

Huge hostel. Rooms are big and clean. Staff is very nice and makes you confortable. The location is a bit out of the city center. That's why the prices are good. Is also not a big problem since you can take the tram literally in front of the hostel and go anywhere. It lacks the social component of hostels though, the happy hour is not so good because the place is very big and people tend to be spread across the huge lobby. Bathroom is very small and unconfortable. But I definitely recommend the hostel if you are staying in Amsterdam.

The Stayokay Hostel was quite and clean. The staff was very welcoming. The tram and buses are close by and so are some stores and restaurants. Bring a towel or expect to buy one for 5€. They don't allow outside food and their prices are a bit high. The room rates are too. The bathroom and shower are located in the room which is nice, but the flush is a bit loud. Especially in the middle of the night. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would recommend staying here.

Excellent! The value for money is the best! When I return to Amsterdam I stay here without hesitation.

Pretty good hostel. Good location with easy access to anywhere in the city by tram or cycling. Good value for money, all things considered. Friendly front desk staff. Decent bikes for hire. I dropped two stars because the dorm room didn’t include basic hand wash which is extremely unhygienic and quite frankly gross. I stayed in a room with 5 guys (shared bathroom) and none of them were washing their hands after using the toilet. I would be surprised if it’s even legal for a hostel to do this because it’s a great way to spread germs and disease.

Great accommodation. Clean and very well organized. Breakfast varied and price similar to the cafes around, more abundant, that's it. The only drawback is with the staff at night, confuse obligations with the minimum kindness that we presume to anyone. Something to improve on.

Absolutely good and recommended for a budget accommodation in Amsterdam drinks/food prices in the hostel absolutely OK (happy hour) cleanliness top breakfast for 6, €50 really great! Mega selection and Coffee specialties!

Probably the coolest hostel I've ever been in and definitely the best breakfast I've ever seen in a hostel! Good job guys! The cleanliness of this place is extraordinary and I honestly think they are doing a good job all the time and I wasn't just lucky.

This is the best hostel I've been by far, the rooms are clean and wide, the beds are nice and soft. Is great for family groups and solitaire travelers. Breakfast is good. Attention is optimal, the staff is really kind. Is not too close from the center of Amsterdam but it has plenty of tram stops near so you will be there in 20 mins max. The neighborhood is really calm and nice, you can go walk around is really safe.

It's remoteness from city center is a blessing in disguise, it's not flooded with potheads and hence the ambience is good and lovely, rooms are clean and beds are comfy. Public transport proximity is good. Travelling should not be a problem. Definitely recommended.

Extremely friendly hostel located slightly outside of the city center. It's immediately in front of a light rail station so accessibility to the rest of the city shouldn't be an issue. Prices are slightly above other hostels but accommodations are certainly newer than other places.

Very clean rooms, good location, close to public transport, but it is possible to get to the city center quickly. The lobby is pretty cute, you can find a lot of interesting things there like souvenirs, automats with drinks and sweets, and all touristic leaflets. Personnel is very kind. My only remark is that food is not allowed in rooms, you must eat it in the lobby.

A good value for money place to spend a few nights. The rooms are quite soundproof and they are spacious. Very comfortable beds with a heating and the rooms very nice. The service is very attentive and responsible.

More spacious rooms than standard and clean, friendly and helpful staff. In front of the hotel there is a bus to get to Dam Square and behind the hotel there is another one to get to the station. Only drawback of the room was the water mixer which had some problems going from hot to cold continuously and as long as you wash your hands no problem but when trying to take a shower then it gets a little more complicated. All in all however I highly recommend it.

Very nice hostel, in the centre of Amsterdam. The tram is nearby, so all the destinations in the city can be reached. In the hostel there is a canteen and a kiosk directly at the entrance. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for a youth hostel, this is the right place!

The food service is excellent The rooms are clean with toilet shower and two washbasins.

The location is not true that it is 300 m from the center as it puts. It's also an Islamic neighborhood. It is far from everything and you have to take tram to go everywhere. The people in this accommodation are up on drugs that are scary to walk in the hallways at night. Towels are not included, you have to pay €5 if you want them. They don't make you the bed. We went 5 people and there was the mirror of the elevator vomited and full of potatoes on the floor. It's an amazing cold in the rooms. The truth is a real scam.

Good stay in this youth hostel. Proximity to the transport to the common ideal pear to visit Amsterdam. P + R close to park the car over several days. Only negative breakfast for my part, 2 machines pear the coffee very slow and opening expected at 7am and in reality always opens 10-15min after. Not be in a hurry.

Spacious, clean and very nice staff. About 35 minutes walk from downtown, with buses and trams that pass every bit, less than two minutes and take you to the center. They also have bike rental options. Breakfast is buffet type, but it is not as varied as we could expect a group of Spaniards. Still, for us it was very good option to have booked it. Highly recommended.

Nice hostel, nice staff which is always on hand with advice and action. Had a leaky window in the room and therefore a permanent draught. Got a spare room right away. Really recommend!
The rooms are nicely decorated and there was nothing missing. Nice reception area with small snack kiosk. Easy access by tram to the city centre (line 14 every 10 minutes CA)

Comfortable and cheap hostel, we stayed in a 4 person room with private bathroom. It is easily reached by tram, not too far from the center, equipped with many services, breakfast plentiful at a good price, excellent the possibility to buy tickets and abundances of the means and tickets of various museums at discounted prices.

Friendly staff, very nice rooms, good quiet location away from the hordes of tourists around the central area of Amsterdam. Showers are very good as well. I rented a bike near Amsterdam Centraal and biked here and all around Amsterdam without any issues. I found it hard to meet people at this hostel. Due to the sheer size of this place and the number of people visiting in groups, I found it to be more like a hotel in atmosphere than a hostel. Some people might be into that, but as a solo traveller it felt impersonal. I would give this hostel 3.5/5 if Google allowed half stars.

Good value for money Very spartan, but there is everything you really need. The centre is easily reached by tram 14 which is a two minute walk from the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Terribly cold! It's impossible to sleep, the wind blows from all the cracks. Room 259 is just awful. Paid towels that are not mentioned when booking. Paid shampoos and gels. There's nothing in the room except KLOPOV! just terrified. The hostel is very far away, it is impossible to get to the center on foot. And marijuana smells everywhere.

Very good location and great location Also we can not leave out the fact that the cafeteria has good sanwich and has Bavarian beer. Also important to mention the friendliness of the staff which is actually really great.
If you do not want to go out also have bar and restaurant that is Buenisimo really enjoy the stay.

When we tried to call to let them know our flight was canceled so we will arrive a day later than expected, it was hard to get a hold of them on the phone because all the phone numbers we could find were disconnected as in they were not in service. Other than that it was a good hostel. Very big and nice. There is a bar and restaurant down stairs but the bar is only open for about 2 hours I believe so we never went there. Clean rooms, big space, they don't crowd too many beds in one room. Very nice place.

I went with my boyfriend for 2 days to Amsterdam. We looked for a cheap sleeping place and found this amazing place. The receptionist were absolutely lovely and helped us a lot (with parking places and more). Our room was really clean and for this price pretty big. The only thing is, that we had to pay more for towels, if we want to shower.

Not in the center but very close to public transport stops. There are supermarket, bars and a few shops nearby. Rooms maybe a little small but clean, bathroom included. Luggage storage is available. Too bad it doesn't have laundry facilities and a shared kitchen.

It's cool! Booked three days before arrival. One night cost 16 degrees. The rooms are very clean, there is free Wi-Fi. For a towel and a box for storing things you need to pay extra.

Excellent accommodation. We were in a double room with private bathroom and the truth Q was lovely. The breakfast was very good. Transport very close to the center. Very friendly staff. Much cheaper than the average hotel in Amsterdam. I really recommend it.

Very good quality-price. Good beds, large bathroom, good insulation, breakfast buffet and quite nice staff. Good transport to downtown and cheap (Uber). Bottle shop just opposite and a street market with food and cheap clothes.

We had ac23h layover in Amsterdam and therefore booked our overnight stay with Stayokay. Check-in was super easy with friendly staff. It was the first time we ever stayed in a hostel and Stayokay facilities were very clean as well as their dorms. Additionally down a few blocks there was a street full of restaurants and around the corner was a bike rental store, so we didn't have to go far to find what we needed. One issue I had was the next morning we had to check out, the elevator was out of order, so we had to carry our luggage down 3 flights of stairs. However, overall I would recommend this hostel to others.

Ideal accommodation for a group trip. Close to downtown and good connection with public transport. In the area there is everything to eat and shopping.

Everything is liked and the room is nice and the shower and toilet are all there, the access is electronic, the breakfast is a repetitive buffet but arranges. Have Wi-Fi.

Had a great time staying here. Friendly helpful staff, printed my flight boarding pass. Very clean and tidy hotel. No trouble and no thieves. Nice atmosphere in hotel, they have a very nice bar area on the ground floor that I found very chilled and comfortable to be in.

We stayed here for 2 days, although its little outside from Amsterdam Centraal. There is tram station very close to this hostel. Hostel itself is pretty big and secure. They also provide breakfast for ~7£. Rooms and beds are comfortable.

Rather good address, large, without curfew, can be a bit far from the center on foot, but with a bike or public transportation close to no worries.

A very decent hostel. Stayed in a dorm with friends. The room was spacious and clean, and there were power plugs and lights for each bed. The breakfast was good and the area is nice.

The single rooms are rather spartan given the price range. Reception activates 24/7 with the possibility of storing luggage. For transportation you can rent a bicycle, or take advantage of the tram line that passes right in front of the hotel.

I liked this hostel for its cleanliness and order. I did not like it though that it does not have a kitchen where you can prepare food.

Nice hostel, thought it is laid out more like a hotel than your usual youth hostel. The rooms can get exceptionally warm at night too, so fair warning if you're coming in summer! Haven't tried the food as I've unfortunately been very ill but the staff are very helpful and friendly. Had an issue with being given a non working key four times in a row before it was sorted. Not ideal lugging my bags up and down stairs when unwell after so long travelling but but their fault, just frustrating when all I wanted to do was sleep!

Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. Clean. No residents kitchen or drink making facilities. Coffee bar in day bar in the evening and drinks machine. Bikes for hire are large and heavy. Laundromat. Not as cheap as I would like but probably cheapest available. Evening meal but I didn't have it. Theatre and cinema on the other side of the building.

Friendly place, with bar and small restaurant, for a very affordable price. I advise against it however in summer: the Windows do not open almost and it is hot even at night!

Nice comfortable hostel, spacious and clean. Prices in the Netherlands standard. Only negative note the meals not included and very expensive. The management turns off the machines to oblige customers to buy breakfast in the inside bar. Positive note in particular is the freedom that is enjoyed in the use of the outdoor space, pleasant and well cared for.

Very nice hostel. Very well located, close to public transport and the city centre (about 15min by tram). Pretty quiet. Breakfast is good, plentiful and varied. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are a little run down and the décor is unsatisfactory. But it's clean all the same. On the other hand, no towel or soap or anything, not very cool. Value for money it depends on the days, the price can triple for a Saturday…

It's a good place to stay for a week. However, if you stay longer than that then dinner get's repetitive and they cannot clean your room properly.

This hostel was good overall. A friend and I stayed last week in an ensuite six bedroom female dorm. The rooms are huge and the bathroom is fantastic because there's a vanity area outside of the toilet and shower, so you don't have to fight with other girls to get ready. Theres also a decent amount of food for breakfast. However, there were a few downsides. There aren't lockers in the room, just a shelf. There's lockers downstairs, but you have to pay to use them. The towels were €4, 50 for a full sized one, which is way more than the typical €1-2. Lastly, its pretty far away from everything, but we bought the €12 two-day public transport pass, which was worth it because we rode the metro many times, including to the train station when we left. There were a ton of kids everywhere, I'm assuming for school trips. Overall, it was a good place to stay and we were happy with it.

A nice hostel in a old school verry nice done maybe not everything was working or great but a nice place to stay in the east side of amsterdam for a couple of days and not to expensive.

Very bad Wi-Fi, doesn't work well. Not a good thing when you're a traveller. Hostel looks very industrial, but is quiet and dorms are nice and big.

This was a nice hostel to stay at in Amsterdam. It's in a beautiful, old building with a lot of character. Four of us had a six-bed room to ourselves, which included a loft and tall two-story windows. I didn't like the rules against bringing any food in, but that can be overlooked since they offered free breakfast in the mornings. Hint: look for signs to guide you on your way to the hostel — — they have them posted for a few blocks and are very helpful.

As hostels go this is top. There was 4 of us in a private room with an ensuite it was was comfy, had a nice shower, sturdy bunk beds for and overall spacious and the breakfast was free but very European ie. Meat bread cereal and yoghurt. The pitcher of Betsy the bar on a night is 10 euro. The staff are friendly and secure lockers are freely available next to reception at 2 euro per 24hr which isn't too bad.
