Love this hotel, facilities are a bit dated but the rooms are spacious and beautiful. While the rooms don’t have modern tech, such as bedside light controls, the decors are beautiful. I am ambivalent about the staff, most of the time they are so accommodating and friendly, but when I asked for new bottles of water (since they only do room service every other day), I was told I have to pay. I raised this when I checked out but was told bottled water comes with the room. Otherwise, everything is good, the location is also nice, close to cafes and restaurants, but if your room faces the street, then you may hear some noise. Will stay again.
Wow. Excellent hotel. Underrated. The shower is so good it deserves a 5* review already. Really high pressure and hot water. Also the shower is roomy. Large bottles of shower gel, shampoo, hand wash and body lotion. I like the sink too. Now to the bed — it’s very comfortable. Mattress topper is good and the pillow is very comfortable. Room temperature was good and had underfloor heating. Breakfast was great, was small scale but had everything I wanted. Muesli, croissant, fruit and eggs (3 kinds). Location was good in the old city centre. 15 mins walk from the station.
Please refill the tissue box there was one tissue left in my box. The room is VERY DARK I really do not like dark hotels. Please install brighter lighting, lamps and fixtures. It’s not chic or trendy to have a dark af room. TV doesn’t work half the time (no signal).

Normally I tend to overlook a handful of lower reviews when the majority are positive, but in this case I wish I hadn’t, as many of the issues mentioned in them turned out to be accurate.
Unfortunately, the biggest problem was the complete lack of soundproofing. You can hear seemingly every sound from outside as well as everything happening in the corridor. Doors opening and closing throughout the night were clearly audible, making it very difficult to get a good night’s sleep.
The bed itself was uncomfortable, with a noticeable dip in the mattress. Cleanliness was also below expectations: there was hair on the duvet cover, and the tea/coffee machine was so heavily affected by limescale that we didn’t feel comfortable using it. The air conditioning unit also made strange noises even when it wasn’t switched on.
The room and décor generally felt dated and in need of refurbishment.
These are all things that could perhaps be overlooked at a basic two-star hotel with a corresponding price. However, for a hotel marketed as four stars and charging accordingly, the overall standard simply doesn’t feel justified.
On the positive side, the staff were friendly and the location is good, within easy walking distance of the city centre.
EDIT: After discussing one on one with the hotel, I am happy to report that they have acknowledged the issues and worked to make things right. Hopefully things improve for the next guest.
