Love the people, the atmosphere and every little detail about the hostel. I met my trekking buddies there. Also great food.

Great experiences and people! lots of fun. The perfect place to organize your trip. I personally recommend the mountain biking to the big falls!

The best hostel to stay, definitely. Since you get there you feel this amazing vibe, happy vibe running through all of your body. And it doesn’t finish here, the people in Aloobar is great, amazing. They really make you feel in home and help you with everything. Also you’re gonna meet amazing people from all around the world and gonna learn so much. And the food… IT’S AWESOME, absolutely delicious. Ask for momos and eat them in roof grade while you’re listen some live music (some people start to play guitar and sing).
The bathrooms and bedrooms are clean.
I highly recommend you to stay here. I assure you that you’re gonna spend a great time there.

Perfect for backpackers, the standard of the rooms match the amount you pay for. Best place is the rooftop restaurant, where you can meet loads of people and chill. Location is ideal.

Hostel is named after a Sage who lived for 1000 years by following strict procedures. The hostel is in the heart of Kathmandu with shopping areas at walking distance. I stayed here while going for Everest Base Camp Trek. It is economical with good ambience. Has a rooftop restaurant with quotes written on walls by previous travellers. Good place hangaround and talk to fellow travellers when you are staying here. Had a great time. Would surely return in future.

Location, price and help from staff are excellent. Bathrooms could do with a refurb tho. The rooftop has multiple areas which is a bonus, the main bar playing cool tunes. Vibe is friendly/chilled nomad and I highly tecommend for solo travellers.

The hostel is in a quiet place a little secluded from the thamel neighborhood but it is not a problem. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good common areas and large rooms. He's got a rooftop restaurant. Good place to meet people. Overall quite clean. The only catch I see is that while I've been there are showers that don't work and you have to look for those that work floor by floor.

If you look for a backpack hostels close to Kathmandu’s Nightlife and bar area (Thamel) there you go. There‘s no proper Wi-Fi in the rooms, therefore on their enchanting terrace including an restaurant. The kitchen downstairs is only for the staff, not for Travellers.

The rooftop is very nice and there is an interesting choice of food. Apart of that, the comfort is really rudimentary. The beds are not comfortable, and not balanced and make a big noise when moving, everything is very noisy, so for me it was almost impossible to sleep. That's why I put this grade, I left this hostel totally exhausted. Then the kitchen opens after 8 for breakfast which I find pretty late.

Great concept and location… I suggested one of my friend from Netherlands … his response was gr8 and wish to stay at this place when ever he comes to Nepal.

If you are on a tight budget, and doing long stay travel, then this could be your place in Kathmandu. For a price per night under 10 bucks you get so much in return. Its a cozy budget Hostel. On a great location. Very close to the Thamel area.

This is litteraly the best hostel in the world I haved traveld to so far. They have a great staff with comfy rooms and an amazing rooftop.

The showers did not work in my private room and the bed sheets have not been changed for a while. No reaction when I complained. The showers in general are cold.

The rooms are basic but clean. Very nice social areas. I paid 350 rupi per night in a 12 bed room.

450 rooms in dormitory with 12 persons and 550 in dormitories with 5 to 8 persons and 1100 RP in private room of 2 persons. The toilets are too small but there is PQ. Hot shower but hardly adjustable (can become hot), low Wi-Fi and plug to recharge rotten (must be very patient). Restaurant not given (150rp for a hot chocolate). Washing machine 300rp. It's a bit of a tourist trap or backpackers. But very warm place Yes… to rest on the roof but very little sun and chill (December).

Magical place, for sure! This is not just a hostel, it's an institution. Everyone knows alobar1000, because it simply deserves to be known by everyone. The areas to hang out in is super cozy and made both to get some time for yourself and to meet new people. The staff is amazing — extra thought to Deepek, such a sweet person! — and always care about that you will have a good experience at alobar. Rooms are being cleaned every day, there's a locker for every bed and the showers actually work (thank you! ). Top rates!

Alobar1000 is just amazing. The staffs are so friendly and welcoming. The rooftop is the best. The property is so big that sometimes it is bit unclean. I am sure it is difficult to keep up with the hundreds of guests but they try to keep it clean and tidy. I met other trekkers to join on an epic Everest Base Camp trek. You will love it.

Casual atmosphere, friendly staff, well stocked bar and restaurant. Lockers are outside of rooms, sometimes on a different floor. Attached transport organiser charges a considerable fee for arranging services.

One of the best rooftop restaurant in any hostel. At 350 NC you get a good bed at the hostel.

It's very social place to meet other like minded cheap broke backpackers. Ages go from 18 to 42 on average. Cleaning is good, they offer also nice food, but the best is the personal working frontdesk, rooftop, and cleaning. Very good hearted. Rooms go from 300 to 600 Nepali rupees, and they have an amazing rooftop to make new friends. Recommend mostly for the social aspect.
