Located in the Thamel neighborhood in Kathmandu, 20.9 km from Nagarkot, Kathmandu Mantra Home features free Wi-Fi access and private parking. The location was great with excellent restaurants near by. The hosts (Basanta and Prakash) were the best part of my stay. They went out of their way to organize my trek and travels. They helped me with my needs while I stayed at the hotel. Two Thumbs Up! ” We are so happy that we chose to stay in this little gem. The rooms are well equipped, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious and the staff are incredibly helpful, they gave us invaluable advice on where to visit in Kathmandu, where to trek, what to take and stored our luggage for us during our trek. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Thamel and surrounded by many restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this hotel. ”

Money oriented hotel… Yesterday I went to ask room and they said Rs. 2000 for normal deluxe room but my friend paid 1500 for same room 3 days ago. Don't pay more than Rs. 1500 for normal deluxe room and Rs. 2000 for AC!

Everything is in line with the stated. The negative is the lack of heating, but in Kathmandu so everywhere. People air conditioning in the room. In warm season it is not important, and in winter it is noticeable.

Perhaps the quietest place in Tamel.

The staff were very friendly and the room was nice and mostly clean. The breafast that is included is very filling. The locarion is also fantastic, next to many good stores and restaurants. There is a great rooftop view and sitting area. And the Wi-Fi was also good.

Living better than the 3rd floor.
The music from the restaurants next door is heard higher at night.

Terrific location, easy access to Thamel area — shops, restaurants etc. No elevator so be prepared for stairs. I was on 7th floor and Wi-Fi was spotty, if you want constant access ask for lower floor. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Great price for the location and staff. Rooms were fairly cleaned but I felt they can use a refresh on their sheets and towels.

Worst Customer Service. Not upfront about anything. No proper parking facility. Charged much on parking. I had to describe every single details of my booking. I booked a deluxe double and they tried to stick me with standard twin room. Then they saw my booking and tried to place me in a double room with no ac. Later on, I had to manage by merging two beds and that was really uncomfortable the whole night. The wordt part was they tried to convience me that the booking system had error. This is irrelevant to me because I paid for what I wanted not what their system assigns them.

Good rooms, very good breakfast. Attention, no elevator and there are up to 7 floors. Good luggage service and good Wi-Fi.

Staff was young and very pleasant to deal with. The rooms were nice and the sheets were clean but the bathroom smelled a bit when you used the sink. It had nice views of a little courtyard and was overall quite nice.

Beautiful hotel in a busy street.

You will not get fresh hotels like kathmandu mantra home in a cheap rate always! It is located at the heart of Thamel and have a good view from the top roof. Try to take rooms in the top floors so that you can have a good view from the room. But remember about the stairs as there is no elevator. The management is very helpful. They will help you to get any solutions.
