Good and clean, friendly staff, very good service, great security, good atmosphere so that I like this hotel, highly recommend and I will back again.

I had a absolutely amazing time here! 🙂 They have a peaceful homely environment with great hospitality. Its has huge statue of buddha which gives a positive and peaceful vibes. I spent 6wks in Nepal, my last 9 nights were at the Dom Himalaya Hotel… Wow! Highly Recommended. On arrival I was greeted by friendly staff offering a yummy refreshing drink. My room was very comfortable, extremely clean with impressive daily housekeeping, I had a spacious private balcony which was really pleasant and relaxing to sit out on in the morning and evenings. I utilised the mini bar, Wi-Fi, awesome laundry service, Sky TV, hot water, heating/aircon and room service. The restaurant was amazing offering buffet breakfast daily and the Chicken dishes I ate for dinner were succulent and beautifully presented each time. The superb convenient location in the popular tourist hub Kathmandu, Thamel made it enjoyable to walk 30mins to see Swayambhunath Stupa ‘Monkey Temple’ and the next day to Durbar Square. Outstanding hotel management and attentive staff. Thank you!

What a delight to find such wonderful people, running a very comfortable good value hotel right here in the heart of Thamel, Kathmandu.
Raj and his staff could not be more helpful in making our stay so enjoyable.
We have sat down and worked out a superb totally personalised itinerary, suitable for our abilities and requirements, to make the most of our time here in Nepal.
It may well seem chaotic out on the main streets, but this is an amazing oasis of calm, that is only a few steps away from the vibrancy.

THE UNIQUE BOUTIQUE HOTEL WITH THE MOST WARM YET SUAVE STAY IN KATHMANDU Arriving and being at the Himalayan is being at an oasis of serene luxury. As we checked in, we were greeted by a courteous bright-eyed young girl at the reception with traditional guest welcoming KHADA and fresh fruit juice. The rooms are well equipped with elegant furnitures and fittings and offcourse with a cozy balcony evoke a quaint charm. All minute details go on from Lord 'Buddha' statue in front and on the rooftop, nestling cradle, wild variegated flora and organic vegetation to make the property what it is. There were some specific instances of excellent hosting. Every morning a wide variety of veg. And non-veg. Palatable Indian and Oriental breakfast being served in the decent dining arena added with enchanting musical spa. Mr. Sameer Raj, the manager, the softspoken handsome young guy was always special and excellent in taking care of our peaceful stay, comfort and warmth. We found that all the staff members, be at the reception, restaurant or house keeping uniformly carry the same sense of courtesy and responsibility and adhered to pleasing guest oriented SOPs. The most pleasant experience happened when Mr. Sameer arranged for a special lunch on their behalf to honour us accompanied by the most decent owner Mr. Deepak and Mr. Khagendra and not the least Mr. Rajendra, the travel manager.

Exceptional service. Delicious food. Most of the rooms have balcony. Plenty common outside sitting space. Management makes you feel at home and always ready to accommodate your needs. Conveniently located in Thamel.

The staff are professional, happy, kind, and it is clear that they care about creating an enjoyable experience for guests. For instance, while we were checking in they brought out fresh watermelon juices as a "welcome drink". Yum! The hotel is clean with an inviting outdoor space and comfortable lobby. The breakfast buffet is a huge spread of amazing options, in a clean, nice dining area. Our room was nice, the shower warm with good water pressure, and the balcony comfortable with a nice breeze. I'd definitely come again!

There are many functional hotels, even pleasant ones and DomHimalaya is both… But what sets them apart is their authentic friendliness, their smiles, the ability (and willingness) of the staff to regard you as a guest rather than a customer. Oh and the organic food. And the herb flower garden (good for breakfast, an iced coffee, candle lit dinner). And creative ideas for things to do (where to buy prayer flags? chocolate? down jacket? Nepalese pants? What temples to visit? Where to go for a hike? )
