Swotha Café and Swotha Traditional Homes are within same complex or building premises. Swotha homes offer nice, airy, and simple yet quite practical accomodation options for travellers who want to experience Patan from within. It's neat and clean, some people may find some discomfort while climbing up the steep stairs, basically the way it had traditionally been for centuries. The Swotha Café offer nice and compact food options. The breakfast could have been little more elaborate but still it's good enough. Addition of fresh juice option could have been great. It does get lil hot at the restaurant during the afternoon.

Very good food options at Cafe Swotha, the restaurant on the ground floor of the inn. The decor is intimate and I tend to spend the whole day writing/reading here at times.

Super dinner at Cafe'Swotha restaurant with well thought out and executed dishes. Careful service. Clean and bright environment you spend about 15/20 euros per head.

It's always been a pleasure visiting Swotha, it's not a place you'd spot much Nepalese hanging out for it's pricepoint, but the food and ambience makes up for rare visits. The menu is very well curated, smartly thought and we'll executed. The food has been consistent over the years, and is worthy of being recommended. The drink menu is small too, but well thought. They have specials written out on the black board on the wall, which is a easy goto for any meal.

Came to Cafe Swotha for breakfast and dinner. Delicious, clean western food (and some Nepali selections). In a nice little alleyway for a quiet meal. Indoor and outdoor seating. Staff are very professional. Highly recommend.

I've only had dinner in this place, and though the food is really good, it would be even better if they had more items on the menu.

Sets a great example of how our traditional architecture can progress into the future. Great model for others to learn from. Also, spending a night here was such an escape, right in the middle of Patan.

I haven't stayed here, I just had a look round and saw the bedrooms, and I was impressed. Best thing about this place, and the reason I'm doing this review, is the fact that it's a really well renovated historic Kathmandu of the Newari clan (or is it a caste? ). There aren't many hotels or buildings of such quality and for this it's worth a visit if not a stay. The restaurant is good, clean and modern and the staff really friendly. If I need to book a hotel in the Patan area of Kathmandsu I would be torn between this one and the one right next door — — the Inn, also a beautiful renovation job. Both places are little oasis of calm and taste in the chaos of Kathmandu.

Amazing food! The best meal I've had in Nepal, would recommend the lasagne.

Café Swotha — Wow! I came here with my friends several times while I was in Kathmandu so I’ve sampled at least half of the menu and everything has been incredible. This is a chef that really knows what they’re doing. Plus, the service is perfect, the wine is excellent, and the atmosphere is comfortable. I loved the big heaping salads, the croque madame, and the cheesecake especially. This is also the place to go if you’re craving steak or a giant cheeseburger. The pasta dishes are large and well executed, and there’s even a tali plate if you want to go with a more local dish. You can expect pretty much anything you order to be awesome. Highly recommend.

Good food and ambience. A small cafe/bistro serves a selection of sandwiches, steaks and pasta. Very hospitable staff.

This café has one of the best chocolate mousse in the World. Another new great hotel next door too.
