Tsumkwe Country Lodge

The accommodation was wonderful — very clean and comfortable, and was equipped with everything I needed. The restaurant had delicious food, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The owners were also fantastic — welcoming and warm, and took time to speak with me and show me around the area. I can only recommend that everyone stay here when visiting Tsumkwe.

We stayed a couple nights here because we wanted to visit the bushman living museum which is at around 30-40 minutes drive.
The lodge is in the middle of nowhere in the outskirts of Tsumkwe a sleepy small town.
The accommodation was quite basic but clean (a little revamping would be nice)
Anyway the bed had a good mosquito net and the shower had hot water ; there were also extra blankets which we appreciated because during our stay the temperature was quite cold.
We loved the garden so well kept with shadowy trees.
The staff was caring and lovely : We want to thank especially Nelson who was so kind and helpful!
The food was very good both at dinner and breakfast with a good variety.

One of the vehicles in our group broke down on our way to Khaudum and this lodge saved us, accomodating us even when they were pretty much full, helping us get assistance with the vehicle and just overall so friendly and accomodating! The Nyae Nyae conservancy is a must see and just around the corner from the lodge.

Tsumkwe Country Lodge is a really nice place where to spend some days before reaching the Khaudum NP or some other places nearby. The lodge has a beautiful bar area, a nice swimming pool and a very well organized campsite area. The Lodge is based very close to Tsumkwe, so if you need to buy some stuff it takes only a few minutes by car. The personnel is absolutely polite and friendly.

We came across this lodge by accident, the village looks small and one might even not expect to find anything remotely accommodating or secure. But then you come across a sign bit old that says country lodge, tired of driving from Botswana decided to give it a go. If we at least find a spot to park our camper and rest. To our surprise this small oasis shows up. And the welcoming was amazing, instead of taking camping spot we got a room. Perfect! Clean and cold water / shower under this abrasive heat! The owners fantastic people and the duty Manager Izzy made our stay more than comforting!
I dare you, anyone to give them a shot you will be incredibly surprised. Also there is couple nice secrets there that make this place heavenly in the middle of the dry, hot and nothingness (but isn’t nothing there? You better check by yourself! )

Friendly staff, little spot but everything at hand. Spotless abluvion blocks. I enjoyed the beautiful sight of the elephants that came to drink in the evening very close to the camp.

Tsumkwe Country Lodge may be simple and the rooms basic to spartan, but it is a clean establishment with lovely, very helpful staff and extremely friendly and outgoing owners. We realised that Tsumkwe is actually Namibia's outback but with many extraordinary things to discover and for this loved our stay there. Being tour operators we would give it 4 out of 5 for excellent serve, delicious food, fantastic staff, and seeing about 12 elephants at the lodge's waterholes was simply stunning. The tremendous social and environmental support and initiatives of the Pienaar family is absolutely laudable and commendable. To see with our own eyes that six hippos are surviving for the last eight years thanks to the untirable efforts of Pine Pienaar to pump water daily (besides all the elephants that come drink there every day) is heartwarming. Pine: THANK YOU! This is environmental bravoury at its best, and government should take this as an example. We will defintiely come back for many more times.

Our party of 9 had a great stay at the Tsumkwe Country Lodge. The staff were so kind and attentive. The food was excellent, especially the Kudu Steak. The rooms were comfortable and the grounds well-kept. Most importantly, the owners were so incredibly helpful in sorting out a car repair issue. They really went above and beyond the call of duty. And to top it all off: You can watch elephants at the waterhole behind the property!

We had booked the lodge for one night. A beautifully maintained facility awaited us. Of course with basic accommodation, but everything was well maintained and clean. The warmth and service of the staff is fantastic. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and all at attractive prices. We would love to come back.

We arrived after a massacre trip on a dirt track and we found a quiet and comfortable park. We were fine and we eaten very well.

I really Loved staying there. The rooms were nice. The food was yummy and I even got to see elephants up close.

We were at the Tsumkwe campsite on April 22, 2024.
It is a beautiful campsite with beautiful large camping pitches.
The campsite has its own waterhole where we spotted a very large elephant.
Furthermore, the campsite has a very good restaurant and a small swimming pool.
The staff is super nice and helpful.
We stayed 1 night as a stop on the way to the Waterberg plateau.

We had a wonderful stay here. Camped in a 4x4 but had our own lovely little private bathroom, huge space for car and our own lawn for our table and chairs. The grounds are really pretty and the the team were so lovely and helpful. We’re veggie and they quickly whipped us up a tasty chickpea curry. Perfect location for a Dobe border crossing!

I stayed at the Tsumkwe Country Lodge for a long duration camping and it feels like leaving home. Warm staff, good food, lovely owners and very well maintained. Campsite is great and the four resident dogs are a plus. It is pet friendly also.
