Camp Hogo Kavango

I had a very disappointing experience at Camp Hogo and want to share my experience with others. First, the photos on the listing were misleading and outdated in the future please bookingcom must make another way to give a rating 8.2 that is stated on the app is not matching on what we experienced even for a camper. The property did not resemble what was advertised, which was incredibly frustrating. When we arrived, the staff were unhelpful—several people were simply lying on the couch, and no one seemed interested in assisting or addressing any concerns we had.
On top of this, we encountered a major issue with the cancellation fee. Given the poor condition of the property and the fact that it did not meet the standards shown online, we felt that the cancellation fee was unfair. Unfortunately, we still had to pay the fee despite these issues. It seems like certain properties rely on the cancellation fee than to actually have guests there.
I would not recommend this place, and Is surprised that booking.
Com has this on there website. Hope others will take this into consideration when booking. It’s disappointing that such an experience resulted in no resolution, and I will be more cautious in the future about relying on online photos and descriptions.

The drive there is not the smoothest, but it’s such a beautiful place. The greenery scenery was absolutely stunning (I’m a lover of such places). There’s a bar that overlooks the river 👌🏾. The owner was welcoming and friendly. It’s a good chill spot since it doesn’t get too crowded. There’s a swimming pool filled with water from the river. Ps. You can go boat cruising.

Camp Hogo offers a laid-back glamping experience on the banks of the Kavango River.
After a long drive from Windhoek, Oom Gert's welcoming atmosphere and chilled beers at the bar are a delightful relief. His team is warm and trustworthy, ensuring a comfortable stay amidst the hustle and bustle of Rundu and the beauty of the Kavango.
As frequent campers we found Camp Hogo to be the ideal launchpad for our Northern adventures, but free from the usual hassles of first setting up camp etc.
Oom Gert's dedication has earned our utmost respect, and we wholeheartedly recommend Camp Hogo to easy-going and relaxed travelers.

Oom Gert and the young men made us feel like family. Excellent T-bone Steak! Relaxing sunset cruise. Nothing was too much for his guests. You must go to Rundu and visit Camp Hogo!

It is a nice place indeed. And it has a nice sunset view ofcourse if you're a sucker for those😊😊

Bathrooms are clean. Tents are bit comfy, pillows were not great. We booked 3 river tents, received 2 river tents and 1 tent at the back. To much visits from the owners, on our alone vacation. However, we could be right next to the river.

Stunning campsite on the banks of the river. Power and water points at each site. Free Wi Fi. Take a sunset Cruise for only N$100 pp. Nice restaurant and bar with deck overlooking the river. They also have tents on decks. Hosts are friendly and make you feel at home.

It's a very nice place good food place to relaxing you won't regretting.

It’s a very beautiful place and the staff member have good customer service, the boat cruise was really fun.

It's a great place right next to the river, nothing you'd expect after driving through Rundu.

Very hospitable owner. We even got coffee brought to your tent brought. Breakfast is very good. For dinner, there was a very tasty Ochsenschwanzstew and we eat were allowed to,
Super tent clean with views of the river. Community showers and toilets very clean. We would book each time again.
