Reviews of Mobola Island Lodge
Stayed one night on the way and way back from Katima, in a mixture of bungalows, rooms, and luxury tents. All were wonderful. The location is fabulous. The route off the main road was easy to follow and well maintained. The location is fabulous. The rooms were immaculate. The bar/restaurant overlooking the river was beautiful. The dinners were delicious. Our regret was not saving more time to take advantage of all the activities.
We stayed on the Island. It was an amazing experience. From the staff, Justina's excellent and professional communication, the way they dealt with a large group. Well done. The accommodation, comfortable beds, warm showers was all we could ask for. The surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely be back.

Mobola Lodge is beautifully situated and offers a truly relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. The surroundings are peaceful, and the receptionist was friendly, welcoming and very helpful, which made our stay pleasant.
Unfortunately, our experience with the meals was disappointing, especially considering the prices.
For dinner, we paid N$800 for 2 people. The meal consisted of one traditional vetkoek without any condiments, two meatballs, mashed potatoes, grilled butternut cubes, cabbage and carrot salad with a vinegar dressing, followed by instant mousse pudding garnished with two blueberries. While the meal was edible, we felt that the quality, variety and presentation did not justify the price.
Breakfast was N$400 for two people and was served on the patio of our bungalow. It was nicely presented, but unfortunately also fell short of our expectations. We received in total two boiled eggs, four slices of cheese, eight slices of bread with a small amount of margarine, jam, honey and peanut butter, 1 sliced tomato, 5cm long cucumber, half an onion, 1 carrot sliced into strips, 1 pepper sliced into strips, four pieces of meatloaf, six slices of salami, 1 diced apple and orange, and half a jug of juice. There was no milk, cereal or yoghurt.
We understand that food costs and expectations can differ, and we certainly don't expect luxury meals. However, at these prices, we expected a little more in terms of quality, quantity and variety.
