Bahnhof Hotel Aus

Great service and attention to detail. Booked a nightmare accommodation facility in Aus (not as advertised and very creepy) but the hotel gave us a discounted rate to offset the price already paid and went out of their way to make us happy. Very pretty restaurant, beer garden and different places to sit and relax. Great for 1 night as Aus doesn't offer much except wild horses at Garub.

What a wonderful stay with incredibly friendly staff, great food, and clean rooms. We arrived a little earlier than the official check-in time, but after checking whether our room was ready, they kindly let us in without any extra charge, which was much appreciated.
We had a delicious lunch with well-prepared dishes, and the service throughout our stay was exceptional. The staff were always friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, all with a smile.
Later, we enjoyed a beer in the sunshine at the beer garden before having dinner at the restaurant, a perfect end to the day.
The room we stayed in was slightly outdated, but very clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The beds were comfy too, which made for a great night’s sleep.
Overall, a lovely experience and definitely a place I would recommend!

Well located Hotel on the way to Luderitz with friendly staff and an excellent restaurant with good food. The rooms are basic but very clean however the sleeping experience was not great because of the EXTREMELY LOUD fan in the room that could not be switched off because of the heat. I sounded like someone is chopping through the wall. We highly recommend you consider air conditioning.

The room was hot during the night and there is no Wi-Fi in the room.
Hmm, the main door of the hallway going to the rooms is locked during the evening. I found it dangerous if a fire breaks out and the door is locked and you need a key to open it.
I noticed your response.
Nevertheless, this is ultimately dangerous because in case of an emergency you want to run away and not try to open a door with a key. The door should have a handle to push and open from the inside. Any fire marshal will disapprove this.

Did not stay at the Hotel, but had an early dinner there. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was great, really enjoyed the pork schnitzel and steak.

Being a vegetarian in Namibia isn't exactly easy.
So I was hopeful when the menu at the restaurant actually offered several vegetarian dishes that sounded interesting (spinach and feta roulade). Unfortunately, everything was deep-fried.
A pity.
But considering the try, the exceptionally friendly service, the relaxed atmosphere, and the good Wi-Fi, the restaurant it's worth 4 stars.

We booked late to split up the drive from Sossusvlei to Luderitz. We didn’t know what to expect. We found a quaint former rail stop hotel. The photos are accurate. It was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly. Secure parking at the back and fuel/ATM 50m away across the street to start the next leg of our journey. The restaurant and beer garden had great German inspired food. A nod to the original owners, but the spaetzle was just as I remover from Bavaria. The portions were very generous so come hungry. Definitely worth a stop on your Namibian adventure.

I don't know about the rooms cause we only had lunch on the way.
Lunch was great. Vegetarian choice was delicious.

We had dinner at Bahnhof Hotel last night — 26 August 2025. Our server was Cecile Pofadder. From the moment we walked in the door we were welcomed with a smile. When we asked her what is good to eat, she said everything, and she was correct, everything we had was delicious. She is such a delight and so helpful. Thank you Cecile for the best personal service. You are a gem and an absolute star ⭐

If there were an award for most friendly staff, they would get it here. What helpful, passionate and sweet staff work here. Everyone greets you with a smile. Fine rooms in an authentic setting. Restaurant is of a high standard. Very good food. Nice that there is private and guarded parking. Still, some points for improvement: in the last 6 rooms of the corridor, there is no Wi-Fi coverage, and hot water is limited. Finally, the current owners want to retire. This hotel is therefore for sale. So if you are interested in a nice adventure, approach the management.

The Accommodation is perfect, spacious and clean with all the needed amenities. There is only one negative. There are no basic things one might need, No Salt and Pepper, No matches, but candles? Everyone unfortunately does not travel with a full kitchen, especially when traveling for business, and some people still prefer a self-catering unit to a hotel room.

We only had dinner at the hotel restaurant, a pleasant restaurant, kind staff, but the food it's a half scam. We ordered the seafood from the ocean “The Calamari Stew”….
Well, there was maybe half a squid on the plate, and four fifths of the contents were, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots in tomato sauce.
There was no sign of basmati rice, but instead there was semolina.
So, remember if you order the “Calamari Stew” is not a plate from the ocean but a plate from the garden 🤣👎🏻

Everyone that visits Namibia (even Namibians) must make a point to stay at or at least have lunch (and cake) at the Bahnhof Hotel in Aus! the staff, the food, the cleanliness. Perfection! if this is not good enough motivation. They have the best cake in Namibia!

Very pleasant stay. Staff very efficient, friendly and helpful. Food excellent. I don’t have 100 characters in my report, so, accept this or dismiss it.

We (a couple from Norway) stayed here for a night on our way from Fish River Canyon to Sossusvlei (as we suspect many of the guests do — perhaps also to&from Lüderitz-). It is perfectly placed for that. We had a nice room, no frills but clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having an aperetif in the fire place lounge before having a nice a la carte dinner. Compliments to friendly Trainee Waitress Chrizelle Engelbret! PS: There is no abundance of things to do in Aus itself, but if you, as we did, drive north to Sossusvlei it is worthwile to take a detour on the D707 instead of just the C27. Very scenic!

What a friendly accommodating hotel, with lovely staff. The food is excellent too. We particularly appreciated the Choir that sand during supper. We want to return soon.

The location itself is great even though there is not much to do in aus, we underestimated the quantity of tours you can do to the sperrgebiet (which in the end we didnt have enough time for)
