The Desert Grace

One of the most unique places we have stayed! Sunrises and sunsets were unbelievable, with a private pool and desert view from each room. It is ~25 minutes off the main road to get to the remote location so be prepared!
The breakfast and dinner buffet had several vegetarian options and the bar was open late with amazing local wine options.
Above all, the staff was INCREDIBLE. They kept the dinner buffet open late to accommodate our late check-in and ensure we didn’t sleep hungry. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable.

Desert Grace, you got it right. Must be the most professional and friendly staff we have ever met. The food was fantastic and a great variety. As Namibians we are proud… and I would recommend this to anyone as a must! The views, the peacefulness, the cold beer and small details. All worth it. Will definitely come back. Just awsome🍻

My husband and I were in Namibia for 3 whole weeks and stayed at 10 places. This was our favourite! I love the thoughtful and modern design loaded with comfort and personality — pink accents throughout pick up the gorgeous pink-hued dunes, the pink fridge on the way, and the service was caring and personalized. I would not hesitate to recommend and return!

This place is pure magic.
First, the location — the desert is at your doorstep. You don’t have to even leave your room to see oryx grazing during the day and the Milky Way during the night.
The property is also a delight. Beautiful architecture, thoughtful (and pink! ) interiors, and little surprises like private pools and swings as chairs.
Finally, the food and service were absolutely top notch. Every meal was delicious (oryx steaks are sooooo good). Every activity/ excursion was a delight. Every staff member was warm and gracious.
Desert Grace indeed.

We had a wonderful time at The Desert Grace.
The room was excellent, well appointed and spacious.
Food was pretty good, plenty of options, and breakfasted started early.
The highlight is the night sky, highly recommend setting an alarm and get up to watch the milky way from the balcony.
The sundowner was quite good, you won't see as many animals as other parts of Namibia, but the view over the valley from the top is great.

What a lovely place! I spent 3 days here and I can truly recommend this hotel. The lodge is situated in the desert and it is very peaceful there, a perfect place to unwind and relax. If you want activities they offer day tours to Soussusvlei, which is a must.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also offer a good selection of wines, both still and sparkling.
Nature is present in both interior design as well as the beautiful desert outside. The location of the place is remote. However, it is easily accessible by car or a shuttle from from Windhoek.

Nice design and facilities. My partner really liked the pink colour scheme, I might be colour blind and didnt see any pink anywhere though. Fancy terrace and beautiful night skies.

No e-bikes. I went there to spend my exploring on their e-bikes as advertised, not to go to sossusvlei. Basically, the trip was a bust. They said they haven’t had them in a while, yet they still advertise for it. The rooms are great, the view is great. Thankfully they had hiking trails, though they haven’t kept them up in quite a bit and you can get lost, which isn’t a bad thing. I went during their slow season using the vouchers, so service was definitely not great. I’m assuming people who pay the low prices during a slow season are given what they paid for in service. If it wasn’t for the one lady at the front desk (her name started with a Z) and a server named Matthew, this review would have been about a 1 star based on the service alone. Those two definitely redeemed the place.

Have you ever seen the Milky Way? This is the place to see it.
Food: buffet style, and was quite nice. Lovely room with our own plunge pool. The rooms are designed to have privacy looking out onto the planes.
We did the Sky and scorpion walk, and because of low light pollution, you could see the stars and planets really well.
The staff were helpful and friendly.
We were made to feel welcome and special. I would recommend this place.

A gem situated close to the Namib Desert and the perfect place from which to visit Sossusvlei. The rooms are beautifully designed, with a private pool and classy, authentic design features throughout the rooms. Huge windows in the room look out onto the African wilderness. Showers are inside the room and outside. The outside shower is perfect on hot day with spectacular views.
Service is first class. A special shout out to Marcelino who made our stay perfect. Anything we needed, he arranged. Hopefully next time we go he will be the manager!
There’s a bar and nice restaurant but no other entertainment within the resort and weak Wi-Fi, so be prepared to be immersed in a remote, reflective retreat perfect for someone looking to escape from their regular day-to-day routine. The tours to Sossusvlei, the sundown tour and other organised activities are definitely worth it. Guide Rafael has the eyes of a hawk and can spot animals hidden in the vast landscape.
We spotted multiple birds, some wildebeest, springbok, ostriches and oryxs. Unlike in South Africa, the animals are completely wild and so spotting them is a not guaranteed which makes seeing them more special. Note I have added some drone footage that was allowed after seeking special permission from the hotel owners.
Overall, if your budget allows, this is an absolutely superb lodge and worth every penny. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Would give more stars if I could. I had just reached the gate when the battery of my car decided to die — the gentleman working the gate and Mr. Olavi helped me reach the lodge by pushing my car until it would start one last time. Mr. Olavi then identified the issue and another colleague transported a new battery from Windhoek to the lodge after a friend of mine had bought it. Mr. Olavi build it in and made sure that I could get back home safely — thank you!
Apart from the minor car issue and slight panic it invoked, I had a wonderful time. The kitchen aced the vegan food at dinner (even though I did not let them know in advance, which I usually do), the rooms and facilities were absolutely lovely and the trip to Sossusvlei was fantastic as well. Staff were all lovely and ensured everyone was enjoying themselves.
Hope to come back one day!

This fantastic get-away gives you all the right sensations. This topped all my previous similar destinations, to become number 1. This is the type of place that calls you back… the one that doesn't disappoint you.
My partner and myself had a magnificent time, with friendly staff, amazing views, top-tier facilities and just stunning elegant decor. Although my partner is not usually the "lodge" type, he was tempted to reschedule our plans to go home and rather stay an extra night, as he had such a great time. The food was fantastic. We left without being able to think of any improvements, because we had everything our hearts desired. WOW, thank you Desert Grace — you will not be forgotten and we will be returning as soon as possible!

This was the perfect gateway. A beautiful scenery with good service. I loved the 4 earth elements that are displayed there, basically Grace signature. Grace made me look at color pink differently. Their display of pink is cute. Thanks, I would love to come back.

We were excited about our visit to Desert Grace Lodge, especially looking forward to the drinks in the fridge en route. However, upon arriving at the lodge after a 7-hour drive at 4 pm, the fridge was completely empty. The reception's dismissive response was that there had been enough drinks earlier, and they were not responsible for the shortage.
Planning to visit Sossusvlei the next morning, we inquired about breakfast. We were told that cold breakfast starts at 5 am and hot breakfast at 6 am. Arriving at 6 am, we found the hot breakfast items—beans, sausage, and bacon—were ice cold, and no one was manning the egg and pancake stations.
This experience was a major disappointment, overshadowing what we had hoped would be an enjoyable stay.

Absolutely stunning rooms! Each room has it own private pool! Beds are nice and firm and the bedrooms look out over the desert! Can't wait to taste thier food.

Spent a weekend here. It’s quite chilled and tranquil. I love the aesthetics, the food and entire set up. Service is another story, they could definitely improve on that.
Would I come back here? Maybe if I want an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city only. Oh and the room is the destination lmao.

Build with sandbags and situated on the dune line. Stunning sunsets and sundowners, each bungalow with own splash pool. Good food and excellent service.
