First Group Desert Rose

Wonderful on the beach accomodation with friendly staff and great service. Rooms are wonderful with great sea views.

Just a heads-up for anyone planning a trip to Henties Bay: we made a full online payment for a week-long stay at Desert Rose, scheduled for next week. Our plans changed, and we asked to move the booking to March next year — well in advance.
Unfortunately, we received zero assistance. Their bookings are handled from Durban, South Africa, and despite multiple attempts to reach out, there was no flexibility, no support, and no response that showed any care.
We understand policies, but the complete lack of customer service was unacceptable.
If you're considering Desert Rose, I strongly recommend avoiding full online payments unless your plans are absolutely fixed. There seems to be no room for adjustment, even with reasonable notice.
A beautiful location deserves better service.

Getting there was a mission, it was worth it though. I loved the place, it's in a nice small quite town. I can't speak about the safety, I've never felt that safe especially in another country. The service was splendid and loved the staff, they were awesome!

We didn't have much of a sea view, but the unit was large and spacious and well equipped. Staff were friendly. Manager even came to say hi. Arrived in the hot month of the year! Would have been great to have fly mesh on the doors to the veranda so we could keep them open and flies out! We particularly loved the fact that we had a garage. It would also be nice to have an aircon as the fan in main bedroom was noisy. Wi-Fi was slow and intermittent.

The management, in particular, has always stood out for their generosity and willingness to go the extra mile. The facilities are spotless, thoughtfully maintained, and very comfortable. Every unit we’ve stayed in has been well-equipped, with cozy beds, clean and well-designed bathrooms, and even private garages and guest parking.

Great venue and location. Spacy rooms and everything you need. Very friendly reception as well as cleaners and security. Had an awesome stay with family. Children enjoyed the hot jaccuci and playground. Will defnitely inform friends and family to visit this venue.

My stay at Desert Resort was truly beautiful. Falling asleep to the soothing sound of the ocean and waking up to the invigorating fresh sea breeze was an exhilarating experience. The tranquil atmosphere and serene surroundings made for a truly unforgettable getaway. "

Great family vacation place! Amazing views of the ocean from the rooms. I would definitely go back here again. They also have a pool, kids area too. A definite place to visit again.

We stayed at the apartment during December and January. When we first got there it looked amazing and the view we had was unbelievable 😍. The security I think his name was James was amazing! He was the only security that did rounds to check if everything was fine the others did not.
The rooms were nice and warm nice a big.
What I did not like. Now this is first time I have come to a holiday home where there are no complementary tea and coffee and shampoo and conditioner, I am for these as they present a sense of welcoming. The receptionest was never there, sandboarding was offered but they were broken, the jacuzzi that is advertised does not heat up, we sat in the once and the next day it was out of order. The freezer of the fridge was leaking and we had to deal with a wet floor almost every morning. The beds was horrible I'm not sure what it was but I went home with a sore back. They cleaners came on the days they were suppose however we left one morning early to swartkopmund and we came home after 3 or so and the apartment was still not clean, we ended up doing the cleaning ourselves as we had kids and they needed to eat and they came after 5 stating that they were short staffed. The towels we had when we got there was nice and white and fluffy and when they were replaced it was old broken towels, when they came on another day they didn't even make up the beds I almost got a fit when I saw that.

Only spent one night in transit but very impressed. Coming from Etosha the road were much better but the weather 32 degrees to 16 was a bit of a shock. If I had to say anything negative it would be that the mirrors are too high up for us that are less that 5.5 feet.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at First Group Desert Rose as a family of four in a 2-bedroom apartment. The apartment itself was quite nice with a glass front in the living room that gave spectacular views on the ocean and sunset. The apartment had 2 bathrooms with a toilet as well as a separate toilet which was very convenient. The apartment had a huge balcony with a private brai/BBQ area which we really enjoyed and took advantage of.
The apartments also have dedicated lockable garages for the car which was also convenient. There is security on site 24/7, the reception is only open until early afternoon but you can still check-in afterwards with the security guards.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful!
Location is really nice as you can walk down to the ocean in 2 minutes and there is a nice outdoor area with benches and a children playground.
The living room is very spacious with comfortable sofas and there are 2 areas for having meals a normal table and a high table. The kitchen is open and spacious. We really enjoyed these social areas.
Now to the downsides:
We stayed here late August i. E. Namibian winter and the place was cold! We were freezing all the time and had to wear jackets inside the apartment. There is no source of heating to warm up the place. It felt cold and wet due to the proximity to the ocean. The balcony was constantly covered in water, each morning the windows were covered in water from the inside. Everything felt a bit moldy.

This is a magical place. The service was excellent. The place was amazing. The food was great and the people exceptional. It was definitely one of the highlights of my holiday and have becoma a favourite on my destination list.

Full time painting on outside of our apartment, smell of burning, painters in front of our bedroom and lounge during whole day. Could not open bedroom curtains or windows.
Could not sit outside during the day.

Best accommodation in Hentiesbay. Safe with 24hrs security. Beach walks to De Duine Hotel, to watch sunsets, are priceless.

Spend a nite here before leaving for our 💀 coast adventure. Great management and staff. Units with everthing you need. Great views.

Perfect water park with clean facilities at 20 NAD entrance fee.
Situated right next to the beach, and it was a perfect day out. The water park had a range of exciting water slides, splash pads, and pools that catered to everyone from young children to adults. The park offered hours of fun and enjoyment, with something for everyone to do.
But the best part of the water park was the deck with bar service overlooking the ocean and beach. It was the perfect place to unwind and soak in the breathtaking views while sipping on a cold drink. The bar service was prompt and efficient, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
The deck was a great place to take a break from the water activities and relax while enjoying the scenery. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was serene, and the ocean breeze was refreshing. The deck was well-maintained, and the seating was comfortable.
Overall, I would highly recommend this water park to anyone looking for a fun day out by the beach. The water activities were enjoyable, and the deck with bar service overlooking the ocean and beach was a fantastic addition. It was the perfect combination of excitement and relaxation, making it an excellent choice for families and groups of friends alike.
