I stayed in a fixed tent, and had a pleasant night except for mosquitos. I would have appreciated management giving the tent a spray before I got in.
Food (shared with a group staying) was fine. My only concern was being charged per cup for my morning coffee; (a) I should be been told that in advance.

We arrived out of season without a booking, but the owners were able to assist. Very expensive for an average chalet with very little light. Well equipped for self catering. The restaurant burned down a while ago, but meals are served in the chapel (seems to have been a wedding venue) Nice for walks, very quiet at night, but not priced for locals. There is a camp site as well, so that could work for a stay over on the way to the border, but book ahead and arrange for meals as soon as you get there.

This is the second time at West nest Lodge, previous stay was in the tented camp and second time was camping. After a long trip we had something to drink at the bar and the headed for the restaurant. The food was great. Staff always welcoming and friendly.
