Amazing location with views over the Namib Mountains & plains with opportunity for wildlife spotting from our terrace (& even from our bed).
The lay-out and style of the room as well as shared spaces were exceptional & well designed. The room had very good privacy.
It was a bit of a walk (450mts for us being in the furthest spot) with small ups and downs between our room and the restaurant/swimming pool/reception/car park. The walking path is of good quality and easily accessible.
All staff were friendly and attentive. We were particularly well looked after by Erasmus, Jacob and Riaan. Also the manager checked in with us to ensure that everything was alright.
Take the opportunity to have Sun-downers at the sundowner “bar” up the hill. Lovely experience!
The food at Namib Outpost was superb. To our delight, the servings were of a reasonable size so that we didn’t feel overful despite a 5-course meal.
A large variety of drinks are included during the stay.
It is worthwhile staying for a few nights without too many planned activities so as a guest you can really enjoy the place.

My partner and I spent two nights at Namib Outpost last month to kick off our 10-day trip throughout Namibia, and as a first phase, visit Sossuvlei and Deadvlei, among other stunning natural landscapes in the area.
We enjoyed everything at Namib Outpost, starting with the hospitality of the whole staff at the reception and the restaurant. The unique design of the lodge blends exquisitely with the surroundings, thus enhancing our ability to connect to the beautiful landscape. We really enjoyed our private chalet, which was luxurious, spacious, and inviting, offering plenty of outdoor space to relax, embrace the desert, and enjoy the incredible starry nights.

Words cannot describe what a wonderful location this is. 5/5 does not do it justice.

The evening drive was excellent and great value – thanks Given. Drinks on the raised viewing platform the next night was sensational. The star bed were a complete surprise – I’ve never experienced anything like it – totally wonderful.
It is hard to find fault with this excellent location. A must ‘do’.

A top notch experience at the Namib Outpost. Great rooms, super service from all the staff and really tasty food. Plus make sure you get there in time for a sundowner! Only minor drawback is that it is quite a drive from the camp to the Sesriem gate — but in our minds it was a small price to pay for probably the best camp/hotel during our 2 week trip. Well done Ondili — it's rare to get such an experience in Africa!

Namib Outpost is a real oasis in the desert & cannot recommend strongly enough! It’s a top-notch destination with the most fabulous team completely committed to giving us a wonderful stay. We were here for the final three nights of our holiday & travelling with friends.
Gina gave us the most lovely welcome. Jannil & Helena are also on the reception staff & so friendly. Then the guys in the dining room — Jacob, Erasmus, Reagan, Allen & Rian (who also did the stupendous sundowner bar). All brilliantly attentive with their personalities shining through. They made us feel so special. They obviously love their jobs and it’s great to hear their employer pays into a pension fund.
The food needs a paragraph of its own. A five course menu each night & every dish was delicious. I don’t remember the chef’s name although he did introduce himself last night. He’s amazing!
The rooms are incredible… overlooking the desert & looking towards the dunes of the Namib Desert. We asked for the outside bed to be made up & slept under the stars… it was a first for me & unforgettable. The decor is stunning and you have total privacy.
Worth every penny!

We are in our late 70’s and stayed here 2 nights in cabin 10. Namib Outpost offered an unparalleled desert experience, blending luxury with the raw beauty of the Namib Desert. Ideal for visiting the iconic Sossusvlei dunes which we did with Lucas — first class experience. Allen our waiter and Abdul the bartender were on hand with a smile and bright cheerful chatter which made the experience one we will not forget. The meals the chef prepared and room service were 1st class. Thank you to all for making our stay so memorable. This is a must visit.

Our 2 night stay at Namib Outpost was incredible. The rooms were amazing. The stargazing, the scenery, the food — all amazing. The staff were very kind and thoughtful.
It is still a bit of a drive away from the gate to Soussuvlei, but worth it for this experience.
Worth noting we had a few critters in the room but is to be expected this remote of an area wasn’t too bad and the bed netting gave some peace of mind at night.

The Namib Outpost resort is a very friendly 5 star resort. The staff are so friendly and helpful, ensuring that everyone has a super time while at the resort. We arrived by flying to the resorts airstrip. We received a warm welcome by Jason, who drove us to the resort about 15 minutes away. Our welcome at the we resort was very pleasant. This continued during our hole stay here. Our accommodation was very comfortable and the view over the desert was magic. Jason took us on two excursions, the Sundowner drive and Sossanvlei sand dunes. These were so much fun. The food at the resort was very good.

Breathtaking — the chalets are exceptionally well designed and yet they don’t take away from the landscape by offering great views of the vast desert and its fauna.
The staff is superbly hospitable and the food is exquisite.

A bit of context first. My wife and I are in our early and late 60s respectively and generally have one ‘big holiday’ a year. While we always go ‘relatively high end’ we still look for value for money (so, for example, we still believe that ‘tips’ need to be earned but we tend to be generous when they are! ). We have always booked through Scott-Dunn who always come up with a special trip that includes some amazing accommodation and are more than willing to amend the holiday to suit our specific requests. We were very lucky to be upgraded to the Outpost from its sister hotel — and what a place. Each room overlooks the desert and has a balcony looking out onto the savana. Each has inside and outside showers, indide and outside beds and LOTS of space! Meals were exceptional — with dinner being a fixed menu — while some things on the menu would not have been my choice — they were all superb! In reality — eat what's delivered, you will not be dissapointed given the chef (a lady called Sara) is clearly a culinary magician! We were looked after exceptionally well by all the staff ancd the location is to die for. I have no hesitation in giveing a 5 start review — thank you to all at Outpost — a truely memorable experience.

My stay at Namib Outpost in Namibia was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled on the edge of the iconic Namib Desert, this luxury eco-lodge offers a unique blend of raw natural beauty and refined comfort. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the sheer tranquility of the surroundings—the vast desert landscapes, the red sand dunes glowing at sunrise and sunset, and the sense of being completely immersed in nature.
The accommodation was exceptional. The spacious chalet-style suite offered panoramic views of the desert, complete privacy, and thoughtful touches that made the stay incredibly comfortable—from the elegant outdoor shower to the cozy indoor lounge area. Waking up to the sight of oryx and springbok just beyond the deck was a surreal experience.
The staff at Namib Outpost deserve special mention. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made the stay feel deeply personal. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and always eager to share insights about the region, the wildlife, and the history of the area.
Meals at the lodge were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Dining under the stars, surrounded by the stillness of the desert, is an experience I’ll never forget. The activities arranged by the lodge—from guided nature drives to sundowners on the dunes—were well-curated and gave me a deeper appreciation for Namibia’s majestic landscapes.

Just perfect. Everything from welcome to lodge, to food to service to excursion has been perfect. I am not used to write comments and less used to have nothing to say to improve. Here just perfect! Only wanted to be able to stay a bit more, see you next time.

Secluded and special. The rooms are amazing. South facing and get hot but cool as the sun sets. The food is excellent and so is the service. Thankful for no kids. It would completely ruin the romantic experience.

I was blown away at the beauty of this place. We stayed for 3 nights with our children aged 8 and 4. We were welcomed with exceptional service. The food was lovely and facilities pristine. Nothing out of order. We feel very privileged to experience this level of comfort in the middle of nowhere.

An outstanding Lodge with Epic Scenery, great accommodation and the food and service was first Class. We would especially like to thank Alan who made such an enormous contribution to our stay. Beautiful lodge in the desert. Fantastic views, luxurious room, excellent food and wine, and the most hospitable staff ever. The local tours (Dead Vlei, the dunes, the petroglyphs) provided are top notch. Highly recommend this lodge for anyone traveling in Namibia.

The best bed and rooms of all safaris, amazing sundowner cocktails and enjoyed all the much needed pools. A true oasis of excellence in the desert. Enjoyed our desert tour and the many sights. Food great service and evening chef outstanding — breakfast not quite as good!
