Epupa Camp

Epupa Falls Camp delivers where it counts. The staff are genuinely warm and welcoming, and the standard of service throughout our stay was excellent — attentive without being intrusive. The facilities are well maintained, which is impressive given the camp’s remote location in the Kunene region.
The star of the show, however, is the setting itself. The water at Epupa Falls is an absolute spectacle — one of those rare places that stops you in your tracks. The extra activities on offer complement the experience beautifully and are well worth doing.
A few areas could use attention: some of the tented campsites need upgrading, as our tent leaked during rain. Roof fans would also make a meaningful difference in the heat of the day — small additions that would significantly improve comfort overnight.
Overall, a wonderful and memorable stop on any Namibia itinerary. Sort out the tents and the fans, and this place is a five-star experience without question.

When we arrived in Epupa, we stayed at Epupa Camp. It’s not the campsite or lodge located right next to the falls, but they’re still very close — just a 15-minute walk. The campsite itself is good: spacious, with nice showers and toilets, electricity points, and firepits. The views are amazing!
The staff were very friendly, and there’s also a common area with a bar where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings. The price was very reasonable too. Totally recommended!

We stayed 2 days, the place is very beatiful and quiet! They offer different kind of acrivities, we did the rafting and the morning walk looking for crocodiles, birds and trees.
Very recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at the Epupa Camp, a true green Oasis and a wonderful location to detox, we can sincerely recommend. The staff is friendly and helpful, so are the guides.
We camped (camp no 2) and the campsite was fantastic, right next to the Kunenriver. One of our best camping experiences. Each camp site has its own ablutions, which are open sky and very clean and private. Hot water is made by donkeys, however one doesn't have to worry about lighting it, as the staff is taking care of it in the mornings and afternoon/evening. As well each campsite has two own wash block/basin, one close by to the fireplace, which is very convenient and a second larger one in the surrounding area. We as well enjoyed one of the two pools and had a lovely lunch, sitting right next to the river. Make sure to pre order lunch/dinner if you like to eat with them. The kitchen was fantastic. The bar ha lovely drinks incl nice ocktails. The activities offered are great as well, one shouldn’t miss the river rafting, thanks to the amazing Katuji and Kapanga, great guides.
If you want to camp at Epupa, there are no two minds but to stay at Epupa Camp! You will only notice it when you are at Epupa and have seen the other camping grounds in this area. You have your privacy! even when having fellow campers around you. The campsite is built so big and generous, that there is enough space between each other. As well the greenery and palm trees, give a natural barrier.

An excellent camp well lucked after. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again to visit.

Our visit to Epupa Camp was a memorable experience. The stunning location along the Kunene River, near the Epupa Falls, offered breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and culture of northern Namibia. Great campsite. We were not sure about where to stay at first but this was a great choice! Nice views of Kunene River with a bridge to walk over and explore. Refreshing by the pool with some cool drinks was also nice. We were the only guests the first night and it was super quiet. We took a private tour to explore the nature with Joao Mutotwa which was also a great experience.

It's a perfect camp. A beautiful site. People very cool. All is top in this camp. Thanf you for all.

We stayed in really cool waterfront rustic treehouses right at the top of Epupa falls. The fronts were open to the falls and it was beautiful. We were able to walk out of the camp and to an area where it was safe to take a dip above the falls which was fun.
The rooms are very cool but rustic with the beds with mosquito nets. I didn’t sleep well-the locks on the interior are possibly reachable by someone who has come up the stairs so I didn’t feel secure (I was staying alone) and the falls are really loud.
Great fun bar, again with great falls view.
I’m very glad we stayed there, but also one night was fine.

We camped here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The ablusion areas are just too lovely — simple, clean but under the stars. The staff were so helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The pool was divine to relax in and the beers were cold. What more could we ask for. The bridge had recently been washed away but I think that would have been very interesting to have done.
There were monkeys in the campsite but they didn't bother us. They also did have some pigs who were so cute but also didn't bother us.
We also got to know Jaoa who does tours of the tribes and just is so interesting and lovely to chat to. Ask at reception for him and you will not be disappointed.

If you are planning a trip to Namibia and are toying with the idea of going to Epupa Falls — GO! this was hands down one of the most amazing parts of our Namibia trip, a fair drive to get to but so worth it and Epupa Camp made it even more special. I am a person who likes to plan, I read all reviews and research a lot! I was very torn on where to stay in Epupa Falls but hands down know we made an amazing campsite choice. It is about ten minutes walk to the falls through the village, everyone is so friendly that this was lovely and you really don't need to be any closer to the falls — on our way back from viewing the falls we had a great football game with the kids in the village, and it was so much fun we did it again the following evening too.
Epupa campsite was perfection, very spacious, riverside, open air showers, gorgeous bar area to relax and have a drink at. Also a fantastic morning spent river rafting, both campsite swimming pools have river views — we were there in August so it was fresh swimming but so good!
I have nothing to fault, pure magic!
And also a great place to visit the Himba, we visited a village the day we left and it was personal, informative and just all round great!
