Bethanie Guest House

It was one of those days where all campsites are taken and luckily we landed in this one which had room for us.
This camping is very convenient and has everything you need including unlimited hot water.
The camping area is very convenient with sitting and food preparation areas which made it easier to do all our chores ewithout unpacking many things from our car.

If you're looking for 5 star luxury, this isn't it. But that's why you don't come here. You come here for the warm welcome, the wonderful character of the place in beautiful surroundings.
The rooms are basic but the bed is comfortable. Dinner was lovely, and I really enjoyed it.
If I am ever back in the area, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The hosts and staff were amazing. We got a wonderful welcome and they made sure our every need was catered for. We had been cycling through the desert for several days and had a much needed rest at this great house. It’s tastefully decorated and the food was extremely tasty. Highly recommended.

So peaceful and welcoming. I woke up in the morning to what would have been my beautiful late wife’s 60th birthday. It has been a hard couple days and the reason I’m traveling Africa to find my life again.
The room was cozy and very comfortable. The pool is small but clean and refreshing. The Wi-Fi works well and is free with your stay. It’s a Beautiful setting with nice architecture, decor, and landscaping. I felt very “at home” here. Thank you for being what I needed today. ❤️💔❤️‍🩹

We — three of us — me, my son and my grandson are travelling light in Southern Namibia and more or less stumbled across the Bethany hotel in the one horse village of Bethany on a dry featureless plain.
What a pleasant surprise. What a comfortable and relaxed oasis. What a great welcome. What interesting conversations about the locality mainly, but not exclusively.
I took a single very comfortable ensuite room with great hot shower. The 'boys' camped out in the secure campsite within the hotel grounds.
Highly recommended as a great place to stay over en route and to hang out.

A hotel/campsite run by the loveliest ladies, we were made to feel so welcome that we extended our stay by another day three times! The campsites are well thought out, with spotless ablutions. The garden and restaurant area were perfect to spend a few days relaxing with fast Wi-Fi and real fresh coffee. Thank you Bett for such a relaxing stay.

Very clean although fairly basic rooms. Decent showers.
Great food with local meat pie.
Very friendly staff. The ladies sang for us before dinner which was lovely. Bar host was also great!
The pool table needs a bit of alignment — although the idiosyncratic response made for some interesting games.

On our journey from Fish River Canyon to the Naukluft mountains we were looking for a place to stay overnight. On the internet we found a reference to the oldest hotel in Namibia. Bethany Guest House. Reviews on Tripadvisor didn't tell us much, but that was undoubtedly due to the difficult quiet Covid time. One more reason to visit this hotel. And we are not disappointed, unfortunately it was still quiet but we were very warmly welcomed by Inge, the owner of the charming hotel with excellent rooms. She told us with pleasure about the history of the guesthouse and we got a tour through the building. In the evening, after a lovely shower, we were welcomed at the fireplace for a nice drink with Lambert and Dorette, Inge's daughter. They live on the game farm Umub to which we were invited directly and where you can hunt and have a gamedrive. What followed was a fine dinner and a wonderful night in our room. We look back with great pleasure on our stay here with these very friendly people.
