Moon Light Hotel

Just a great place to stay in Mandalay! Close to some great restaurants, clean rooms, and super helpful friendly staff. We stayed three nights, went to Hsipaw for the night, and we were able to leave our luggage here in storage. We decided to come back and stay another night. After checking out, and exploring Mandalay for another day, we could shower and wait for our bus in the lobby. Would recommend this place to any, and everybody!

This is a modern hotel with decent size rooms and a very good location. The shower is powerful and the wash basin had hot water which is not always a given in budget hotels. There is a cold drink welcome after the nice fellow on the door ushers you in and takes your bags. The spotless room had a big bed with an excellent firm mattress. The room also has a variety of lighting. The breakfast had about six noodle, rice and stir fry dishes as well as eggs, toast and four or five fruits. There was also unlimited coffee and cakes/cookies aplenty. This hotel is budget in price but way beyond that in every other way. Last but not least the staff are completely and utterly charming. Not least the lovely lady on the front desk Miss Yir Yin Oo.
My only, and minor, quibble would be the lack of natural light as our room was right next to another building.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel. The room was really nice, clean, with warm water and AC.
The staff was really kind and helpful.
The day of my birthday, the manager came to my room with a cake and a bottle of red white! What a surprise! It was unexpected to spend a so nice birthday in Mandalay!
We rented a scooter at the reception to visit Inwa and Mingun. The staff well adviced us about the roads to take and the places to see.
Our stay in this hotel is a really good experience.

The best staff I've met yet, and amazing breakfast! Rooms are very modern and super clean. They even held my bag for a few days while I traveled around to other towns. Cannot recommend enough.

At first glance, the hotel seems good. Good location and nice establishment, recent, Chinese style (normal, no? ). At check-in, the hostess wanted to keep the ID card of my partner, it is surely a common practice in Burma. But when I asked her what the reason, she was not able to answer and just smiled stupidly. Regarding the room, the windows are very thin, impossible to sleep without earplugs. The hotel is located in a very noisy street and it is a shame not to have equipped the rooms with quality windows (made in China as usual, sadly). Regarding the bathroom, it is difficult to adjust the temperature of the water. It is necessary to wait 1minute each time one modifies the quantity of hot or cold water to obtain a result … weird. No bath exit towel, so we put water everywhere in the room by stepping after shower. Despite this, the rest of the staff are great, and the breakfast very decent. Too bad as it could be a very good hotel.

Very good service and fair price.

I really enjoyed it. The rooms are pretty darn good. A little noisy in front, and in back a touch dark, but super clean with nice bathrooms. This is important.
The reason it’s four stars is I don’t like that they charge US dollars and use an inflated exchange rate when converting to local currency (literally several percent above the current rate). I showed them the real exchange rate, and they still denied using it. But the staff I helpful and the breakfast is good.
