Loved it. Very classy Myanmar hotel with great staff and excellent breakfast. We felt like a king and queen here. The bathroom and shower I want in my own home. The whole place was bricked and decorated like an Asian palace of old. Just awesome! And the Wi-Fi is excellent…

Fantastic little hotel with very helpful friendly staff. Wonderful decor, lovely rooms, great location. Easy to walk around town.

The luxurious beautiful decorative boutique style hotel in Mandalay, the location is quite near to Mandalay royal palace just few walking foot step and across the street, suitable for jogging around the moat of palace in the morning. the staff was so polite, supportive and hospitality. the room was so comfortable, clean and full equipped with all necessary facilities.

Unfortunately we were only passing through Mandalay and only stayed one night, but we plan on returning and when we do, this is where we will stay again. Beautiful boutique hotel exuding traditional style and contemporary twists! If you want something a little out of the ordinary then we can highly recommend the Bagan King!

Never has a hotel disappointed me so much. The “deluxe” room was extremely noisy all night, with the sound of cars and honking coming through paper thin glass. They refused to help with this issue. You could get a better night’s sleep at a hostel. Never again and avoid it at all costs if you are in Mandalay.

Very loud and poor service. The rooms are very small, a little bit dark and we could not sleep well because the bed is very hard and you can hear all night the honk from cars and scooters. The hotel is located directly next to a crossing of two big streets and it is ver loud at day and at nighttime. The staff have been very friendly but the service was really poor because they never helped us really. Also the transportation from them is very expensive.

Unfortunately, we are not satisfied overall. This is due to:
— On the first evening and our free cocktail (between 6pm) was denied even though it was 18:57. It said it would be too late.
— At breakfast was cleared around point 10:00 although there were still 2 couples besides us at the meal.
— The hair dryer is so small and weak in performance that man can cheer his hair with it, but a woman is not in less than 1 hour.
— The hotel is located at a busy intersection and it is very noisy even at night as the cars here are constantly honking.
— ACHTING: If you order a taxi, you don't get a taxi, but a driver of the hotel. These rides, like the restaurant, are absolutely overpriced. In addition, local drivers will be booked if their own are not available. Our driver was funny, but he tried penetrating and with a lot of pressure we tried to chuckon tours for the next few days.
— The rooms resemble a "nicely furnished" board. We had booked a 30sqm room with "city views" and two windows. We have got a ~ 16sqm room with a window and views of the next wall of houses on the 2nd floor. After the complaint it was said to be fully booked, but the next day we would receive the booked room.
Unfortunately, this was not the case. It was also tried to offer us a room that is too small with a window. Allegedly we would have been given "wrong information" the day before and for and there would be no better room for us.

Fabulous location. Great views over the river. Restaurant outdoors under big tress facing the river. Awesome sunsets. Walking possible to temples in Old Bagan.

Traditional hotel style, cosy, and comfortable.

It is a very acient design hotel. It is closed to my house. However, the room size is small and price is above average around the other hotles.

Cracking hotel. Room was a decent size with old wooden style furnishings and flooring, nice exposed brickwork in the shower, firm bed. Had a couple of free cocktails each on the house which was a nice touch, good view of Mandalay from the roof bar, mountains and all. The staff were so lovely — kind, happy, and extremely helpful. Only stayed for one night but wish we could have stayed longer!

Great hotel located in a centric spot. Restaurant on top floor provides views of the city, and staff is very helpful!

Great hotel! Love the cozy feeling & the customer service for the size of the hotel is amazing. Breakfast is great with a great view of the city from the roof plus there is a complementary cocktail bar in the evening as well :)

Well designed, thoughtful and enlightening to guests. The lobby ambience is such that you feel like king with your own palace. The rooms are decorated with ancient lights, tap and even showers. The facilities are modern though. Great skybar at and dining area on the 6th floor.

Very good choice to stay at Mandalay, good breakfast, room comfortable and well decorated, good service, good location.

We stayed at Bagan King for 2 nights in July 2015. The airport is located a bit out of town so the drive in took about 45 minutes and cost 12.000 Kyats. The building stands out a bit on the corner as it seems to be a pretty new building and with 6 floors it is higher than buildings around it. Check in was fast and we got room 402. The small elevator worked just fine but it was also possible to take the staircase. The room had dark wooden floor, light walls and dark furniture. The bed was a bit on the hard side but decent enough and I was pleased to see that there was decent reading light for use in the bed. There was an open wardrobe with a few hangers and a small safe, a small table with two chairs, some complimentary water and also a kettle for making tea or coffee. There was a small fridge that had Coke, beer etc and 1 Coke was 1.5 USD and can of beer was 2 USD. The decoration in the room was a bit “tacky” – the phone was made in an old school style and the lighting above the bed was shaped like the watchtower in the palace – a bit much in my opinion. To get internet access we got a code on a small piece of paper that could only be used on one device. It worked fine on my iPhone but when I went to get a code for my iPad it didn’t work. After a lot of running back and forth (or up and down I should say), they said that there were some problems with iPads so the receptionist had to put my iPad ID into the server and that gave me access directly.

It's just IMPOSSIBLE to sleep in that hotel. The room are not insulated from street noise and the street is permanently noisy. Personnel is nice. Hotel is well decorated.

I've been staying in quite a few hotels in Mandalay in the past year and this I say is my favorite. First it is very new. It is centrally located and very accessible. I find the price reasonable given the comfort and style of the hotel. Love the interior design and attention to details — — — very Bagan indeed! Kudos to the architect and design team. Friendly staff. Fast internet. Good breakfast buffet, love the dining area (make sure to catch the sunrise/sunset while enjoying a good cup of Myanmar tea). One thing to hope, that hotel will maintain a "no smoking" policy (even only on some floors).
