Bagan King Hotel

The room was nice, super clean with local interior. The General Manager of the hotel, Mr. U is the most helpful and friendliest. He speaks very good English. He helped us planning our tour, get a tuk tuk for our tour around Mandalay and taxi for our next trip to Bagan with a very reasonable price. Other staffs are friendly and very attentive also. The rooftop bar and restaurant is a must to try. Foods are nice, breakfast and dinner. As a 3 stars hotel and with the price you pay, you are at the best place in Mandalay!

Bagan King Hotel was a great place to stay, and I especially want to commend the F&B team; Aung Ko Ko, Moe Myint, Thet Paing & Shwe Zin. The restaurant staff were warm, welcoming, and very attentive throughout my stay. Their service was prompt, courteous, and always delivered with a smile. They went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Excellent hospitality and truly professional service.

Very friendly and nice staff, clean rooms, rooftop restaurant with a great view, kitchen from the world and local food as well. Highly recommend lime juice, prawn spring rolls, all noodles and soups are delicious. Location is very nice nearby the Palace, where you can promenade with locals in evening, enjoining some fresh cool air.

Really impressed with the staff here! It’s a 3-star hotel, but hospitality and professionalism is 5-star. All the reception staff helped us from day shift to night shift, from trip planning, to booking tuktuk, to communicating in local language, to offering advice of safety… You feel home — despite visiting Myanmar under the current situation.
The restaurant on the 6th floor offers a variety of breakfast included in the rate and the menu changes daily — you won’t get bored with the food! Every evening, there’s happy hour that offers a free drink for guests — would recommend the rum sour! Have a chat with the supervisor here also bartender — he’s been working here 10+ years and always at your service!
We are checking out today for Bagan and will be missing them all!

Bad experience with loud near-by guests, hotel did nothing to stop this. It continued all night into the morning. Staff is polite, but its all superficial.

This hotel is renovated with a lot of local flavour and aesthetics. The room was comfortably furnished. The only complaint is the toilet was a little dim due to dark tone furnishing. The hotel location is good with a number of restaurants and eateries nearby.

This hotel is nice and clean and the service is respectful and attentive. We’ve stayed here when March earthquake happened. The hotel didn’t suffer much and the staff took good care of us which makes it a reliable accommodation in Mandalay.
They also have a rooftop bar that is worth visiting. It has proper food and cold drinks.
The right place to chill after work or on a weekend.

This is a good choice for a short, sightseeing stay in Mandalay as it is near the Royal Palace and everything else. The room was clean and quite large enough for two friends with their cases, though nowhere to actually unpack clothes except a small hanging rail. The bathroom was spotless with a good shower — a little more light would have been appreciated, in the bedroom also. Beds were comfortable, and the service was good.
The best thing about the hotel is the rooftop restaurant where they can slide back the windows to make it more like a roofed terrace. Great cocktails for Happy Hour and the food was nice. Can't say I enjoyed the Puppet Show and Music as it just droned on in the background through the evening although the lady puppeteer was, I am sure, very good — sorry, not my thing!
Breakfasts were particularly good with loads of choice, both Western and Asian — and the only half decent bread we had in Myanmar! Particular merit was a Myanmar flat pancake, filled with chillies, bean sprouts and all sorts!
Shame there was no outside area or pool, but it is in the centre of Mandalay.

This hotel is on a corner of two busy streets in Yangon. It’s rather noisy all day long, with traffic. However, I imagine this may be the same issue for many hotels in the centre of the city.
The rooms were a little over furnished for the size, but was fine for our stay. The bathroom was a good size.
Breakfast was served on the roof top with far reaching views of the city. Sadly there was very little choice for vegetarians, and so I did not bother with breakfast on my second day.
I must mention that the hotel serve free cocktails at happy hour on the roof terrace, which was an unexpected surprise. The team were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Aung Ko Ko.
We dined there on our first evening, and watched the puppet show that took place each evening.
What made this hotel was the team (my reason for 5 stars), who were incredibly helpful and attentive. This was from the welcome desk and reception team, to the restaurant and bar staff.
The reception desk also helped us to find a camera shop and a very reasonable tuk tuk to take us around the “must see” sites for the afternoon. We very much appreciated their help and service with a smile.

Spent two nights here on our holidays and everything was perfect! The location is convenient for touring Mandalay and it is a walking distance to many good restaurants nearby. The entire hotel is uniquely designed, which makes us feel like staying in ancient times Myanmar. As for the room, it was clean and comfortable; the toilet is just wow. Staffs were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Best of all, they have a rooftop bar to view the entire town and free cocktails are served at a certain hour of the day. We would definitely return in the future!
