Sunset Beach Resort

Had a wonderful time at Sunset Beach resort.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
We camp for 12 nights. Camp sites very nice grass stands and neatly. Will definitely go again. We had a fun time with all the things you can do in Chidenguele!

We found Sunset Beac Resort on our way to another holiday destination. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Beautiful scenery, amazing bar/restaurant, lovely room and excellent service. We’ve already recommended the resort to several friends. Looking forward to returning in December 2024!

Food was awful pretty much flavourless unfortunately, was really hoping it would be as good as the ocean view but that sadly was not the case. Furthermore half of our food never arrived and we were told we never ordered it. We only came for the restaurant and did not stay over so I cannot comment on accommodation but the decor is rather outdated and the building is pretty dilapidated.
Will not be returning.

Campsite good value for price. Each spot with roofed kitchenarea, own bathroom with shower. There is a not bad Restaurant. Self caterer bei prepared. Xia Xia ist the next real shopping oportunity.

Rooms were nice, no aircon but had ceiling fans. Restaurant deck and pool area has lovely view of the ocean. Restaurant had nice food but they refused to charge to the room for paying in total at the end, so we were charged for each meal and then they could not provide slips. This was frustrating each time. We should have been explained this at check in so we were could plan accordingly.

Really enjoy staying at the lodge, staff are always friendly and helpful, special thanks to Julietta who went above and beyond not only for us but everyone she had to assist, amazing lady.
Both dinner and breakfast was fantastic.
Room was comfortable and clean.
Fantastic ocean views from the deck and a great spot to have drinks and a meal.
Nice clean pool and if you are up to some exercise the enjoy a walk down to the beach, it's quite a steep slope and there are plenty of stairs to work up a thirst for those lovely cold beers when you get back.
Was not our first visit to Sunset and it won't be the last.
Congratulations to the staff and management for a job well done, keep up the good work.

We have stayed here before, nice campsite with own shower and toilet and a basin to do dishes. Needs better cleaning and could use an update, but the water was hot and plentiful. Great view from restaurant, and ice cold beer with friendly and efficient service in restaurant and reception. Good Wifi as well. Tip: Stick to basic food like hamburgers, some of our friends were not overly impressed with the food, but my toastie was fantastic.
It is all still a bit "old Mozambique" meaning it needs a bit of updating, and TLC but we would stop there again. Our friends stayed in the chalet, said it was really nice.
You could see that the absence of guests during covid has had a financial impact, but the area is so beautiful, I am sure business will pick up and necessary attention to detail will be given…
