Probably the coolest experience of my life, highly recommend this to anyone.
What an amazing experience. We were driven from Fes all the way down to Rissani where we swapped out our passenger van for 4x4s. Then stayed the night at the desert hotel. Then the next day after breakfast we jumped on some camels and headed into the dunes of the Sahara. We stayed the night at a desert camp run by Berbers. It was amazing watching the sunset, moon rise and sunrise in the shadows of the great dunes. I recommend staying 2 nights as a 1 night stay, while it may seem cheaper, will not give you the same experience. Be prepared for a 10 hour drive if you're coming from Fes via private car or more if going by bus. Definitely more if you're coming from Marrakech.

Certainly for tourists who like to be stroll and not have a lot of freedom during the bivouac, this can be a good experience, but as far as I am concerned, this is not the case. When you are picked at the bus exit at 6 o'clock in Rissani and you are forced to ride in their taxi to either say take you to Merzouga but finally it is to advertise for this bivouac and arrive a few meters from this "hostel" tell us basically : "you choose what, you come or you get off here" (in the middle of the desert)! So yes that's the game we got made, but I prefer to warn future customers!
