Riad Alena

I couldn't recommend Alena more. It is the best value for money stay in North Africa. The food is stunning, the location amazing, the staff so friendly and attentive and the riad itself is so lovely.

Staying at this riad was truly exceptional, the perfect balance of Moroccan palace meets cosy, welcoming home. Every detail feels thoughtful and luxurious. The bedrooms are stunning, with spacious bathrooms, highest-quality finishes, heavy fluffy towels, and silky soft sheets that make it impossible not to relax.
The rooftop is a tranquil oasis. We enjoyed breakfast up there every morning, choosing from eggs cooked however you like, the shakshuka was to die for. Alongside it came granola, yoghurt, fresh fruit, gorgeous breads and dips… the quality of the food really impressed us.
We also had dinner one evening, lovingly prepared by the wonderful Abla. The slow-cooked shoulder of lamb, tender chicken, and vibrant salads were unforgettable. We felt so well looked after the entire stay, we didn’t lift a finger. It was the best stay, with the best staff, and the best atmosphere.
A huge, ginormous thank you to the amazing team — Alena, Abdu, Fatima, Mustafa, and Abla. You made our trip truly special. We can’t wait to return.

Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a real highlight — fresh fruit, pastries, and tasty Moroccan dishes to start the day. We also had homemade lunch and dinner during our stay, and the food was amazing — everything was so fresh and full of flavor.
The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed.

We also enjoyed homemade lunch and dinner, with delicious fresh food prepared by the in-house chef.
The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free.
Overall, Riad Alena is a gem — cozy, authentic, and full of heart. We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Marrakech!

Absolutely perfect — I wish I could give more than five stars especially to the service. The staff are so kind and welcoming. They truly want you to feel comfortable and we did. The food is so good and the rooms are super clean, quiet, and very cosy. I hope we have the opportunity to come back. Loved it so much.

A wonderful and peaceful riad that checks all the right boxes. It's close to the edge to the medina, so you don't need to haul your luggage down cobblestone streets trying to get to it. It's down a secluded alleyway so it's quiet and there isn't noise outside your window. There are only 4 rooms and they are cozily appointed. They look just like the pictures and there were no surprises.
The best part of Riad Alena however, is the service. We arrived early in the morning after an overnight flight. The staff checked us into our room early for a much needed nap. Every day breakfast was delicious and prepared for us exactly when we were ready to have it.
As hectic as the medina of Marrakech can be, Riad Alena was our quiet home base and that was priceless.

Riad Alena is a beautifully curated haven as you enter the Medina. We had the pleasure of staying in 2 / 4 rooms and each has its own unique Moroccan charm.

We spent two incredible weeks at Riad Alena. Everything was perfect: the warm welcome, the refined setting, the comfort of the rooms, and the serenity of the place. The team was truly attentive and caring, always making sure everything was flawless. A real enchanted escape in the heart of Marrakech. I highly recommend it!

The perfect riad in Marrakesh.
Beautifully located, close enough to walk to all the main sights and the souks, yet tucked away on a quiet street so you can actually relax and switch off from the bustle. The riad itself is stunning: tastefully restored, with just four bedrooms that make it feel intimate and private, a plunge pool to cool off in the afternoons, and a roof terrace that quickly became our favourite spot for long, lazy meals and evening drinks under the stars.
Louis and his team were outstanding. Their hospitality, warmth and professionalism set the tone for our entire stay. Nothing was too much trouble, from organising activities and restaurant reservations to sharing insider tips that made all the difference. The food prepared at the riad was delicious, and having the option to enjoy it in such a peaceful setting was a real highlight.
Honestly, I couldn’t fault a single thing. 10/10. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Marrakesh that combines charm, comfort and genuine hospitality, this is it.

The food was absolutely outstanding—fresh, authentic Moroccan dishes full of flavor and beautifully presented. Every meal felt special, and it was honestly some of the best food I had during my entire trip.
The riad itself is stunning—peaceful, beautifully decorated, a mixture of traditional Moroccan and vintage decor. It was the perfect place to relax after exploring the busy streets of the Medina. I cannot recommend it enough if you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, amazing food, and genuine Moroccan hospitality. It’s also so conveniently located to restaurants, the Medina and attractions.

The stand out features of my stay include exceptional service and a fantastic breakfast on the rooftop each day. I was travelling solo and felt very safe here, I loved how close it was to El Fenn, the main square and the souks. The room was so beautiful and the bed was incredibly comfortable! I will definitely be returning.
If I were to have one recommendation, it would be to bring earplugs as the acoustics in the riad mean you can hear pretty much everything (luckily it's a small riad with only a handful of rooms so there are not many guests making noise) and of course the call to prayer, which can be heard from any riad in Marrakech so this suggestion is applicable no matter which riad you stay!

For our honeymoon and first trip to Marrakesh, my wife and I stayed at Riad Alena, and we're very glad to have chosen to spend our stay there. Riad Alena has a fantastic location within the Medina; near the Souks, El Fenn and the square at Jemaa el-Fnaa, yet tucked away to offer a quiet and serene place to stay. The Riad is also within walking distance to Gueliz and the new town, and there is an enjoyable walk through the park to the nearby supermarkets should you fancy a change from the busy streets of the Medina. The Riad itself is beautiful, small and intimate yet full of beautiful materials, art and craftsmanship. The bedrooms are comfortable and beautifully furnished and the shared spaces such as the living room, courtyard and roof terrace are equally homely, cosy and relaxing; we made much more use of these than we expected! From the roof terrace there are views of the treetops of the nearby gardens, which is perhaps a unique offering in the medina.
Abdou and Soulaimane were fantastic hosts, and genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed our stay in Marrakesh. For most of our stay we followed the recommendations from Abdou and Soulaimane — whether this was somewhere to eat, or to explore — which really helped us make the most of our time in Marrakesh.

We had a wonderful stay at Alena. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and the rooms beautifully appointed. The breakfasts fresh and full of local treats and and made with love. Would whole heartedly recommend it to any friend wishing to visit Marrakesh.

Riad Alena, with its wonderful host and staff, is a true gem in the heart of Marrakech’s Medina. The hospitality, warmth, and that genuine feeling of being “at home away from home” are offered in a way I have rarely encountered in all my years of traveling.
The rooms are incredibly tastefully decorated, with luxurious bedding and cozy bathrobes that make it a joy to sit out on the beautiful terrace in the morning or evening with a hot cup of tea or coffee. The food is simply delicious.
We had the privilege and joy of celebrating the end of Ramadan with a fabulous breakfast, together with the owner and the staff. It was a wonderful feeling of togetherness that transcended religious boundaries.
If there were more stars to give, I would give them all! I'm already looking forward to my next stay with you, dear Alena Family!

The Riad is small with only 4 rooms available. The rooms are very comfortable and very well decorated. Makes you fell at home. The breakfast is absolutely worth coming for alone — served on the rooftop in a family atmosphere. The staff is first class — looking after you all the time. There is coffee, the and soft drinks available at your free disposal. We are sure to retur.

The Riad was really peaceful and in a great location very near to the Medina walls and within walking distance of some of the main attractions and good restaurants. The staff were all very friendly and really helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner can be booked in advance; this was also excellent. Our room was very comfortable. All in all Riad Alena was perfect for our stay in Marrakesh.
