Just wow. This is an amazing place to stay. Instantly welcomed and treated as family and Hassan looked after us so well, from helping us with transport, showing us the town, and guiding us up to Talamrout.
The food was delicious and generous (our favourite was the kofta tagine).
The views from our room were spectacular, looking directly onto the Atlas mountains. Picture postcard perfect.
Would highly recommend staying here and this will be our base for our next Moroccan adventure.
I particularly recommend staying here for acclimation for Toubakal as it is situated in the higher town and close enough to walk to Imlil for supplies.

I booked a room at this hotel online, however my partner and I were refused accommodation because we did not have a marriage certificate. It was nighttime and the roads were bad so we offered to resolve this situation by paying for and staying in two separate rooms, however the owner refused this, despite there clearly being vacant rooms in the property (and rooms available on Booking. Com, etc). As a result of this refusal, we were left in an unfamiliar village late at night with nowhere to sleep, forced to navigate narrow, winding roads in complete darkness and without streetlights.
Furthermore, throughout the entire interaction, owner was rude, disrespectful, and made judgemental comments about us travelling together while unmarried.
While I fully acknowledge the importance of understanding and respecting local laws and customs when travelling, the Moroccan Minister of Justice has publicly stated that requiring couples to produce a marriage certificate is not law, but in fact an illegal practice that hotels should not enforce.
If the owner chooses to apply his own moral beliefs, then that is his personal choice, but he should have communicated this policy to us upon our booking, instead of placing us in an uncomfortable, stressful and unsafe situation.
