We have known the Heure Bleue for years and we frequent its restaurants at each of our very regular stays in Essaouira. At the gourmet restaurant, chef Ahmed Handour offers a revisited Moroccan cuisine. On the terrace with swimming pool and views of the rooftops of the medina, it offers a simpler cuisine but with very fair flavors. We have already stayed at the hotel and enjoyed the authentic atmosphere. A truly unmissable address in Essaouira!

This is a lovely hotel and a wonderful find. It is a Riad so set around a divine courtyard with trees, pond and relaxing seating. Pool on rooftop is clean but a bit chilly (refreshing when you are hot! ). All the staff are amazing, helpful & so attentive. Our room on the first floor was snug so would recommend upgrade if you can to a suite on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Would love to come back to this extraordinary city and stay here again.

That’s a relais & château so expect perfect service à la française. The ambiance is colonial for sure and the roof top swimming pool impresses. The patio downstairs is ideal for a tea and have breakfast. Ideally situated in the medina it’s the ideal spot to start exploring.

Beautiful hotel in an traditional riad in the médina if Essaouira. Very comfortable rooms and extremely nice staff. We haven't tried the spa and the restaurant unfortunately. But the breakfast was delicious.

This is a lovely Riad (Small Hotel) in the old part of town. Staff and rooms are very nice. Breakfast is outstanding! Highly recommended.

Superb. A hotel of superior standing. Attention is paid to every, single detail. Warm, friendly and efficient staff that personally ensure that your stay is as enjoyable as possible. They organised all of our tours and guides and drivers were booked efficiently through them. The location is perfect for those looking to be in the Medina in order to get an authentic experience, but removed enough to not be emersed in the chaos. Pretty rooftop terrace with pool and great skyline. The rooms look onto a beautiful internal courtyard where a fantastic and varied breakfast is served. In the evening you can drift off to sleep peacefully listening to the Moroccan guitar. They also have beautiful spa facilities. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Starting my review by stating that this hotel is perfectly placed is derogatory for the staff of this hotel.
Because all of the staff are very refined and attentive.
Congratulations to all the collaborators for this refinement and kindness that they show spontaneously and that makes you feel good and serene as soon as we arrive.
Finally, Bravo for the chef of the restaurant of the Blue Hour; Refined cuisine, mixing tradition and originality: in short, happiness!
For all this, I will return with great pleasure to the blue hour.

We were a guest at the Heure Bleue Palais in 2016 for four days. What we could experience and enjoy here was, to describe it with direct words, the hammer. What Francois Laustriat and his employees have done to us is, I think, genuine and warm hospitality. It is not better and we think with joy, but also with a bit of melancholy, these days back.

A veritable palace, worthy of the ' Arabian Nights '. Refined luxury and service to the top. Nice room, spacious. Privileged location close to the beach and the old ramparts.

A welcome as warm as a professional, a traditional setting or modernity adapts to tradition. The chef is exceptional, the staff available and smiling, it reigns a generous human warmth and the terrace a place conducive to relaxation. You have to go without waiting…

Staff very attentive to every need.

The atmosphere and the setting is absolutely amazing. Fireplace and an inside garden that is very beautiful. The service was great and the staff very friendly. You can tell they try really hard to make you good food and it's almost like they try too hard. The food is not bad, it's just not very well balanced. It feels like they are trying to serve very advanced food but don't have the experience or training to match it. I would still recommend going, the experience is fantastic. But don't have too high hopes for the food. Save room for dessert, they are massive and very good!

Island of charm and tranquility at the entrance to the Medina. The restoration formula on the terrace is not to be missed. It's delicious, beautiful and reasonable.

Day two of 10 and we are loving everything about this beautiful hotel… from our upgraded suite to the rooftop pool… heaven. Lunches by the pool have been delicious and all the staff across the hotel cannot do enough for you. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Amazing stay in Essaouria! Exceptional service, great roof terrace and gorgeous internal courtyard. Everyone was not only incredibly caring and helpful, but went the extra mile every day in every small gesture to pamper us and make sure we had the best possible experience. The roof terrace is even nicer and bigger than it appears in the photos, and it was the best spot to relax and enjoy the sunshine in great comfort. The courtyard is an incredible oasis of peace from the noise and chaos of the Medina, gorgeous and soothing.

Amazing setting and decent food but at double/triple the price than anywhere else.

Very upscale and expensive but a must see. It's beautifully renovated and one of the most spectacular houses in Essauira. On the roof terrace there is a pool. The food is excellent but expensive.

This is the best hotel in the area, great facilities and amazing rooms. The view from the roof top terrace is stunning and service is perfect. Only downside is that the rooftop pool is definitely not heated but everything else makes up for that.

Magical place with a beautiful courtyard and an equally beautiful terrace you can eat extremely well and it is ideally located j took me to wonderful holidays.

Hotel Magic dream holiday.

Choices of very nice restaurants in Essaouira is short. This one in an aging Relais and Chateau was recommended highly. Decor could not be nicer, in a garden courtyard that qualifies for one of the nicest Riads in Morocco. Food was more varied than in most places, and deserts were very good. The let down was the moroccan food: no nicer than anywhere else but 4 times the price. Pastilla for 23 Euros, probably from the same pastry shop as La Licorne (still a better choice for dinner). The company was great and the service impeccable, so 3 stars and no regrets. Small budgets stay away.

A wonderful hotel with an idyllic courtyard. Excellent for a breakfast or one of the famous Mint that there just 3 x as good taste at home with fresh mint.
The prices are also 5 * high for overnight stays.
