Riad Mayfez Suites & Spa

My husband and I have just enjoyed three nights at this very elegant six-suite-only riad located in the Medina in Fes. The staff were exceptional: welcoming, friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Our suite was luxurious, and the quality of the food was outstanding.
Of particular note was my massage with Hanane. She was superb. Without question this is the best massage I’ve ever had anywhere in the world, and I’ve had plenty. I booked the 80-minute Ayurvedic massage and cannot recommend this highly enough. Philip.

Our stay at Mayfez Riad was nothing short of exceptional.
The riad itself is stunning, blending traditional Moroccan charm with refined luxury. Every space feels thoughtfully designed, creating a peaceful and elegant atmosphere throughout our stay.
What impressed us most was how incredibly helpful the team was in organizing our experience in Fes. They arranged excellent tour guides and made dinner reservations at fantastic local spots. Even more thoughtfully, they personally walked us to our dinner locations to make sure we didn’t get lost in the medina—an extra touch that made us feel completely at ease and cared for.
One of the absolute highlights was the hammam and spa experience. It was incredibly relaxing and beautifully executed, offering an authentic and rejuvenating escape. The treatments were done with great care and expertise, leaving us feeling refreshed and pampered.

Stunning property with lovely rooms in the beating heart of Fez. We found the service to be perfect, the grounds were well kept and beautiful (photos don't do it justice) and the restaurant to be inviting with fresh food. Highly recommend for your getaway in Fez, especially the Palmyra Suite.

I could not say enough about my stay at this charming historical riad. Tucked away in a quiet lane in the medina, Mayfez is a serene oasis — not only because of the beautifully designed rooms and communal spaces but also because of the warm, generous hospitality of the staff. Houda and the team exude authenticity, professionalism and genuine friendliness, making you feel welcome and cared for as soon as you enter their doors. The traditional breakfast and dinner were superb. And I’d highly recommend the hammam which was outstanding! Sunset views from the rooftop relaxation area were breathtaking. My stay at Mayfez was one of my most favourite memories of my trip throughout Morocco. I’d highly recommend it without hesitation.

Wow! Riad Mayfez was a highlight of our tour around Morocco. This stunning, elegant, traditional Riad in the heart of Fez, was an oasis of peace and comfort. We were so wonderfully well looked after by all the lovely staff who attended to our every need and made the effort to befriend and understand us in a short space of time. We miss them — management, wait staff, chef, house keeping — everyone. Everything was lovely. The suite was spacious and beautifully designed with the comfiest bed and lovely balcony and bathroom. The food was delicious and the dining settings, outside in the courtyard or inside in the dining room, with wonderful music and romantic atmosphere were so conducive to relaxing meals and good conversation. The pool was pretty and refreshing. The rooftop at sunset overlooking all of Fez has stayed in our hearts. Mayfez — a magical place to remember forever. Highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning riad — a former vizir’s residence beautifully restored with incredible attention to detail. The atmosphere is pure magic, elegant and peaceful. The staff is beyond amazing — warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful with everything. Truly exceptional hospitality and a memorable stay. Highly recommend Riad Mayfez!

We were excited to stay here for a trip around Morocco, Fes was amazing and our hotel was one of the highlights. The hotel itself is historical and beautifully designed, an experience in itself. Only catering to a few guests at a time so you really feel you have the place to yourself at times! The breakfast was amazing and we had it on our private terrace. We booked the room with the large private terrace and it was so worth it. This Riad is different because it offers a lot of space and light as it is super large, while you have rooms across the way (as in any Riad), they are quite far across a big luxurious courtyard. We had dinner one of the nights we stayed and the food was delicious, great wines and bar selection as well! Reda and the staff are extremely kind and thoughtful and make you feel at home in this beautiful, quiet Riad in the middle of it all! We hope to return someday!

This Riad is absolutely gorgeous! We stayed here for a couple days during our stay in fes as part of our 10 year anniversary trip. Riad Mayfez is truly pure magic. From the moment you step inside, you feel transported — the architecture, interiors, lush courtyard, serene pool, and rooftop views are breathtaking. The suites are very spacious (we stayed in the Vizir’s suite), beautifully designed, and full of character and curated pieces within. What truly sets it apart, though, is the staff: warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, they made us feel like honored guests in a private home. The food was outstanding, and the spa was the perfect retreat after exploring the Medina which is an easy 4 minute walk from the Riad. Luxurious yet welcoming, historic yet comfortable — Riad Mayfez is unforgettable!

Great property, beautiful suites, excellent location in the Medina, a short walk to some of the best restaurants in Fez, also the souks and monuments. Hospitable and hard-working staff, delicious food. Riads by nature face inward from narrow Medina streets. Riad Mayfez has an unusually large courtyard and garden, so provides a better sense of openness and light than other Riads.

Had the most incredible stay here last week! The property is beautiful and immaculate. Our group enjoyed all of the community spaces and rooftops which offered spectacular views of the city. Cannot say enough about Mohammed and all of the staff — they were attentive, kind, and could not do enough for us. The location is central within the Medina and easily walkable to most places. Lastly, the food was delicious. We loved our daily breakfast and had a lovely meal at the hotel for dinner on our last night. Would highly recommend!

The riad itself is stunning—a beautifully restored historic building with less than ten unique rooms, each blending the cultural richness of a traditional Moroccan riad with the thoughtful design and comfort of a European boutique hotel. Our suite was especially memorable, featuring a deck overlooking the heated pool, a cozy sitting area, desk, sleeping loft, and a spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi-style triangular tub and a luxurious shower—charmingly compact but with excellent water pressure.
Throughout the riad, there are charming salons perfect for quiet tea, cocktails, or reading, and rooftop terraces with sweeping views of the ancient medina. The property is filled with elegant touches and details that make it feel more like a private retreat than an impersonal place to sleep.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Mayfez Suites for my birthday, and I can confidently say it was one of the most unforgettable travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this place is something special.
First, the property itself is stunning — a beautifully restored Riad that blends authentic Moroccan design with elegance and comfort. The lush terraces, cascading flowers, and intricately designed spaces make it feel like a peaceful oasis in the heart of Fez. Photos simply don’t do it justice. We were lucky enough to stay in a suite, and the room was jaw-dropping, especially the luxurious bathtub and shower.
But what truly made our stay exceptional was the staff, who go above and beyond in every way.
Dominique is an absolute gem. She was attentive, warm, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She arranged a private city tour with an outstanding guide named Abdul (aka "Sammy"), scheduled our spa services (Hanan, hope I'm spelling that right, was incredible), and even helped us get dinner reservations on a busy night. Thanks to her, my birthday was perfect.
Mohammed also made a huge impact. He was kind, gracious, and made every meal feel like a special occasion. His attentiveness and warmth made us feel completely at home.
Mayfez is built on a mission of quality over quantity. They only have a handful of rooms, and that’s what makes the experience so unique. Every detail felt intentional. Every moment felt personal.

The bedding was first rate, A/C control easy, food exemplary and service exceptional! Hotel was beautiful, with heated pool and adjoining suites for my family. It is the service that sets this hotel apart from all the others. Madame Laraqui runs things beautifully and our concierge Mohammed truly catered to our every need. We had an early plane to catch so the staff got up early to make us fresh coffee and even gave us to-go bags of food! Location was fantastic too. If you are visiting Fez, this is the only place to stay!

Of all the riads in all the places, Riad Mayfez has been my favorite. There are only 7 rooms but they are all so unique and beautifully decorated and maintained. The common area is second to none. But the real beauty of this Riad lies within the staff. Houda is the best manager I have seen anywhere in Morocco and there is no question too difficult or unusual and no request too much for her to attempt to fill. She even took me and a friend in a taxi to her artifacts supplier when she was not going in the same direction. At first glance we thought we were in a junkyard but the place was a treasure trove. Thank you Houda and special shout-out to Mohammed as well. *** Be prepared to climb stairs.

Riad Mayfez is a beautiful, welcoming, intimate riad well-located in the fascinating medina of Fes, Morocco. Everything about our eight-day stay was lovely. Dominique Laraqui, the owner, and her wonderful staff helped greatly to make our time in the city and its environs a truly superlative experience. If you are lucky enough to visit Fes and learn about its important place in Moroccan history, this is where you should stay.

This is the most magical place in all of Fez — everyone is extremely attentive, the Riad is stunning and peaceful, the food is incredible and every detail was thoughtfully crafted from start to finish. Our experience was one of a kind, and it was a beautiful start to our honeymoon. Thank you to Houda and Mohammad in particular who went above and beyond to make it so memorable.

I had a wonderful time at the hotel! They go above and beyond to please you! Mohammed is spectacular and so is his crew. All polite and respectful and punctual! I had the best hamman and a massage there with Hanane! She is perfect! Esma did an amazing facial!
