Florentina Hotel in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Florentina Hotel located, and is street noise audible?

The hotel is located slightly outside the city, adjacent to a road, which can make the rooms noisy. Guests note that the windows do not close tightly, exacerbating street noise. Conversely, some visitors describe the hotel as a quiet place.

Does the hotel have parking?

Yes, the hotel provides parking located directly in front of the building. Guests confirm its availability and convenience.

What languages does the staff speak, and how polite are they?

Opinions regarding the staff are mixed. Many guests describe the employees as very kind, warm, and welcoming, noting their helpfulness. However, several people pointed out that the receptionist speaks only Russian, which led to communication difficulties. There was also a reported incident of rudeness from the receptionist after a guest declined to book a second room.

What is the situation with payments and receipts at Florentina Hotel?

The payment situation is inconsistent: some guests confirm that card payments are accepted, while others were told by staff that paying by card was not possible. There was a reported instance where the room rate was unexpectedly increased from 600 to 800 MDL upon check-in. Additionally, a guest reported billing issues where the fiscal receipt was issued under a restaurant-bar rather than a hotel, causing problems when submitting expense reports to accounting.

What kind of breakfast is offered at the hotel?

Guests describe the breakfast as basic and rather modest. The menu typically includes a boiled egg, bread or toast with cream cheese, a croissant, tea, and coffee. Some visitors were satisfied with the quality of the coffee, while others found the meal selection insufficient, and one guest reported that the kitchen was closed, with only tea and a croissant offered for breakfast.

Are drinking water and a kettle available in the rooms?

Information regarding these amenities is contradictory. Some reviews mention the absence of a kettle in the room. There was also a reported case of a complete lack of drinking water, along with tap water supply issues that prevented a guest from showering.

How is the soundproofing in the rooms, and how comfortable are the beds?

Soundproofing leaves much to be desired: some guests complain about "paper-thin" walls through which other residents can be heard. Regarding the beds, opinions are divided: some find them very comfortable, while others report that the beds in their room were broken.

What condition are the furniture and room decor in?

The condition of the rooms receives mixed assessments. While some reviews mention cleanliness and coziness, there are many complaints regarding wear and tear: outdated furniture and appliances, stained walls, and windows that do not close securely. Some rooms experience plumbing and hardware issues (such as loose screws on bathroom furniture) as well as faulty doors that do not stay shut unless locked.

How do the ventilation and air conditioning systems work?

The hotel has air conditioners, and some guests confirm they operate properly. However, others note that most rooms lack air conditioning.

Is there an elevator in the hotel, and is it easy to access the rooms?

The hotel is situated on the second floor, and there is no elevator in the building. This may cause significant difficulty for guests with reduced mobility or those carrying heavy luggage up the stairs.

How clean are the rooms and common areas?

Cleanliness reviews are conflicting. Some guests find the rooms clean and well-maintained. Others give cleanliness a low rating (3 out of 5) and describe the condition of their room in extremely negative terms, advising not to even touch the surfaces.

Nice hotel and with no noise. Person at the desk was very kind even if you came with no reservation. Room was large and clean. Would use this hotel again.

The hotel is a bit outside of the city. It is located on the second floor with no elevator — so if you have any mobility issues, look somewhere else. It is located close to the road, therefore noisy, with generous parking just in front. The windows are not closing right and the noise can be annoying. The lady at the reception was nice, but was speaking only Russian. Not a big issue for me, but still, Moldova has an official language which is not Russian. Again, the lady was trying to be nice. The room was very large and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The TV very small, I was not able to get in running (it had some additional signal decoder). The door of the room would not stay closed unless locked. The door of the bathroom would not close at all. Breakfast was basic — a boiled egg, some spread cheese, bread and coffee/tea, plus a small croissant.

Rooms were relatively clean, personal tried to be helpful but spoke only russian,.
No AC in most of the rooms; just double beds when we booked rooms with two single beds; bathroom furniture was a bit questionable with loose screws and toilets.
