Progreso Beach Hotel

Very relaxing beach. Clean with places to eat steps away from the beach.
Using ride share was easy to use. There are rental options for umbrellas, chairs and tables. There were many people visiting however it did not feel crowded which really made the visit pleasurable.

Good solid wiwi close to the beach (on block) and hot showers. Hard beads thou! And the price was more then it should be compared to Merida. Staff was extremely helpful thou.

We were quite pleased. The location is just a few steps to the malecon. Our suite was quite clean and the bed comfortable. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The room decor is minimal at most. The price value though is phenomenal. We would stay here again without hesitation.

The waiter Jorge served us very badly, bad attitude, everything was forgotten and not even thanked when giving him the tip, he turned around annoyed, I do not know what personal problem he had but it is not worth recale with the diner.
We also paid the lounge chairs with one of $ 500 and we did not return the change, we remembered when we were leaving the restaurant and we had to return to ask for it.
The octopus came to us raw, unsalted and chewy.
Beans without any salt at all.
The food and service was left to me and we don't think we are going back.

The sweet bread is delicious, whatever you ask for. Lunches are rich and affordable. It takes a while to attend to you and take your food, but it is worth going to the place.

Very high prices, it took 40 minutes to bring us a juice and hot cakes that was semi raw, we ordered bread and it never arrived, And there was practically no attention from the waiter, we had to be calling him.

Prices too excessive for the food it promises. I ordered the simplest dish that were a green chilaquiles, they knew too horrible the truth, anyone would think that they used a herdez sauce and if not, it was a total disappointment, apart from anyone knows that the chilaquiles go with shredded chicken, not with grilled breast that apart from that they charged us as an extra ingredient, brought bones and fat, a very unpleasant experience for which they boast so much.
I hope and do not block me as you did with the person who published this opinion, since I also witnessed the bad service, but anyway, SS just in case. Best regards.

I am finishing the worst lunch at la Antigua In Progreso I have had in the many times I have eaten here. It took two waiters to understand that we wanted just a glass of water to drink and I am dining with a native Spanish speaker. Ordered entrada and entre to share both came at the same time. We were the only customers and the service was mediocre, while the staff stood 2 meters away chatting. The entre was a 5 on a scale of 1-10. I am shocked at how far la Antigua has fallen in quality and service.
