What a lovely stay we had at Santiago Merida. We arrived on Friday with a stay booked until Monday and we extended an extra day. Rita & Jon have wonderful staff and everyone is so welcoming. The menu although not huge had many great things on it and the staff was flexible if you wanted something else they could provide. The menu included typical Yucatecan food to small pizzas and hamburgers. Everything was spotlessly clean and they are following the pandemic guidelines for your safety. Can't say enough nice things! special kudos to their kitchen staff!

I will NEVER patronize this place again! My son and I stayed there overnight while emergency electrical work was being done on our Airbnb. We enjoyed the place and was even planning on paying to have our family come stay there during their visit next month that is until… The guy that manages the place shows up at my Airbnb door unannounced scaring the crap out of me and accusing my son and I of stealing a glass WATER BOTTLE! I have never been so insulted. We paid for EVERYTHING we consumed. I even tipped the service staff. We travel all over the world for work! We are not those type of people! We did not touch a single drop of water that was in the room because I literally walk around with a hydroflask full of water as I prefer to consume it cold. He then said “well maybe your son took it” My 12 year old son couldn’t care less about a glass water bottle! He said well I have my cleaning lady on camera putting 2 bottles in your room and now there’s only one. I said well, I’d definitely like to go back and see that video. (he refused) When I asked him to call the authorities, he had nothing to say and called me “emotional” I feel that this was probably racially motivated and we were stereotyped. I plan to take this further and warn others about how we were treated. It’s a shame that such a beautiful place would operate like this. Btw. He also tried to extort me for 650 pesos “to replace it”

Highly recommended. Good location. Great people. Lovely ambiance. Superb food. Nice rooms. Everything I want in a small hotel!

It has interesting details in the decoration. Not agreed to the bedrooms, only at the lobby but if it looks very nice to spend a nice weekend. The owners are people very polite, especially the wife.

I have stayed with Rita and Jan almost since the inception of this fabulous bit of paradise. That the city of Merida is a bit off the beaten track is a shame. It has so much to offer and the Yucateco people are a breed unto themselves. The Santiago setting and the accommodations are the best but are regularly surpassed by the hosts' hospitality — it know no limits.

My wife and I have stayed in this beautiful, comfortable, charming little 6 bedroom hotel many times over the past four years. We travel the world frequently, and this is our favorite hotel. The first class experience is because the owners, Rita and Jan, are a great resource, fun to converse with, and manage their staff and culinary offerings perfectly. Although Mérida has many fine restaurants, sometimes we spend an evening simply enjoying the delicious creations of this hotel’s chefs. So if you want a first class, un-hotel ambiance, I recommend you consider Hotel Mérida Santiago.

Great boutique hotel in old city. Easy walk to parks, restaurants, activities. Staff friendly and knowledgeable.

Could not has asked for better hosts and fellow guests! Just a short distance from the city center, making it quieter and more relaxing, we stayed with a very lovely couple that treated us like family along with a talented staff including two chefs. Our suite had tall ceiling, great natural and decorative lighting and a spacious and relaxing large bathroom with standing shower area. Would love to go back and stay for even longer.

I can't say enough nice things about this place. Luis is an extraordinary chef and makes outstanding Marguritas. Staff is great and beds are beyond comfortable.

This is an excellent place to stay in Merida! The staff are extremely helpful and gave us incredibly useful travel advice. They went to a lot of trouble to help us with all our requests (so patient! ). The hotel is very pretty, and the rooms are large, clean and well appointed. The breakfasts were delicious, even the cakes were home made.

Best place we stayed during our 4 weeks Mexico, Belize and Guatemala trip. The hotel is very nice refurbished, rooms are as amazing as the pool and the lobby/restaurant. Rita, Jan, Gio and Ramon are very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. Another thank you very much for the unforgetable stay!
