The pool is nice and room are nice staff. Expecting one guy with glasses a bit older that is awful. He was not smiling and I felt very uncormfortable with him. This guy is suppose to be a manager and he just made change my mood being around.

I stayed at Nomadas Hostel for 4 nights from March 3-7, 2020 as a solo traveler in the 8 bed female dorm. The dorm was comfortable and simple and had 4 metal bunks. The bottom bunks were all double beds and I lucked out with that! Each person had their own medium sized locker (locks were provided). The door to the dorm did not have a lock on it and I would have felt a little more secure if it had. Each bed had an outlet and reading lamp, but no privacy curtains. The other women in my dorm were all respectful and quiet, so no issues there, and I had a good sleep. The dorm had two washrooms just outside the room and there were showers in the larger female dorm next door and in a separate building near the pool as well. The showers in the large female dorm were clean and had consistent hot water. The hostel property was nice and there was an outdoor lounge area behind the reception building with tables and chairs, and some seating inside the reception area. The Wi-Fi worked well throughout the property and there were multiple networks to connect to for different areas. The hostel also had a guest kitchen to cook your own food and a games room/lounge. There were different activities every day of the week with lots of opportunities to try new things or meet other people. There was salsa every evening, yoga classes in the mornings, cooking classes, and live trova music in the evenings. The salsa was really fun and yoga was relaxing. I also enjoyed the live music.

Great Hostel, good location, super great investment and super Tropical garden with a swimming Pool.

This was mu first hostel experience, the hostel was Awesome, I had my bed and locker, there was all ways a bathroom available, I checked in early and they let me stay beforehand, and I checked out on time and they let me stay until I wanted since I had to wait for the plane. I got breakfast everyday. Very central hostel. And at night I got my rest. If you’re looking for a good place to visit and chill, look no further. There are rules you must aby by, and cámaras, but thats the hostel trying to have a good image and your safety. Overall it was a great experience and awesome stay. I really have no bad things to say.

Excellent hostel very friendly with lots of activities to do at the hostel for free. Great social hostel but not it will not kept you up all night. Great to meet people and still get sleep at night if that is what you want. Recommend highly.

A great experience to have stayed in nomad, the tranquility, the atmosphere, the service and its concept have no comparison. All the spaces of the hostel, extremely care to provide satisfaction and comfort. I congratulate you for your attentions, we hope sooner rather than later return.

All the staff friendly and attentive at all times, the breakfast very rich and welcoming space. The salsa classes are the maximum and the lord touches trova also. Amazing hostel! Super friendly staff and beautiful hostel. I stayed there for two months and had to come back because it was such a great experience!

Los procesos administrativos son algo deficientes quisieron cobrarme doble por qué no tenían el registro. En la noche no hay quien de mantenimiento, entiendo que es un hostel pero nadie quiere bañarse con agua fría. De ahí en fuera sus instalaciones bien cuidadas todo limpio es cómodo te ayudan como turista y tienen diferentes clases que lo hacen algo diferente.

Really dirty pool. The hotel we stayed gave access to the pool here. We went down to use it but found it was really dirty. Lots of leaves floating on it and the water was so cloudy you could not see your hand in front of your face. But it did look like a nice set up for a hostel — they should just clean the pool properly and more regularly.

"A disgrace… " Potential Racial Profiling of Guests March 28th 2018 around 9pm During staying at the hostel I witnessed a strange incident that took place while a friend was trying to book a bed in the dormitory. While major booking website (and their own website — see photo attached) was indicating that there is a bed available in the 10 people mixed dormitory they refused to accommodate him. Although it was at 9pm I assume that the platform updates real-time, so I strongly believe that the bed was still available. I did confront them one hour later myself (while the room was still available) and asked to see their computer to verify their story. The night front desk staff was scrolling through a page fast and was saying — nothing free. When I pointed out an opening he responded: "but this room does not have 11 beds " (whatever that means). Anyhow despite with his "explanation", I do not buy it because the whole attitude in the process was "off" and felt very unprofessional. It had all the telltale signs of profiling: no eye contact, did not talk directly to the customer, did not elaborate. The traveller was native Mexican so he was potentially profiled for that or some other reason (? ). Establishment deals mostly with Caucasian foreigners. Despite being a decent hostel, this incident was a disgrace.

The staff is attentive and the place is welcoming. At the entrance there are slates where they place brochures of cultural events, they also offer tour.
The downside: there is no parking.

Its location is unbeatable; Practically in the center of the city. It is silent; We had an acceptable bed, with clean sheets; Multi-speed fans working very well (this is very important in such a hot city) ; Good facilities; Hot water; security within the accommodation; There is a reciprocal respect between the diverse guests, nationals or foreigners.

Could be a great hostel but alas the owners run it like a prison. I get not being a party hostel but no bar AND A BAN ON drinking tequila and hard alcohol even in your private room is outrageous… also you cannot even bring friends into the building. The place has zero atmosphere as well.

The best hostel in Merida. Rooms are clean and spacious. The pool is amazing and they propose several free activities. Staff is nice and helpful. You will definitley meet people there and enjoy your stay in Merida.

Hammocks, pool, gardens all in one place! The rooms are not airconditioned but its ok.

A different experience good breakfast, the bad thing is the ice cold water of the pool.

The hostel is one of the most major of Mérida, it is clean and has many options whether you want to share a room or if you prefer more privacy or even the advantage of having a room of one's own. The establishment is clean and the prices are quite accessible.

Room was clean and private. The hammocks and pool are so relaxing. I extended my stay as soon as I arrived. Breakfast was filling and tasty. Wifi works! So many tours available as well as free activities included in your stay. Would stay here again.

The hostel is very comfortable, has many additional services such as swimming pool, hammock area, computers with Internet, hot water, yoga classes, salsa and Mexican cuisine. The staff is very attentive and the facilities very clean. Great location.

My stay at the Hostel Nomadas was very pleasant. I recommend it for its tranquility and for the attention they offer you quickly and clearly.

Hostel in the heart of Mérida. Dormitories and private rooms. Breakfast is included. You can relax around the pool on a deckchair or in a hammock.

Very high quality, and cheap concidering what you get. Good breakfast, clean and the people working there are really helpful. Will definitely come back.

I loved there are rooms for all kinds of budgets, it is full of foreigners, there is super cheap cooking class and you eat what you prepare which is a good portion, tmb there are free classes like salsa and yoga and if you go there to the airport you can check out leave your luggage in guard and continue to occupy the facilities apart has excellent location.

I attended to the hostel as a provider. I noticed is a very nice place with good atmosphere. Something interesting is that you can feel all the good vibe from the workers of the hostel. It has a great pool to relax.

Rustic room without television. Comfortable bed. Nice courtyard with hammock and swimming pool. Monotonous breakfast or you have to wash your own dishes. Well located in a city with little interest. Friendly and accommodating staff who even reimbursed us for booked nights.

It's a nice hostel with a great pool. There are different kinds of double rooms, and the dorms are really good. You have a lot of space and a locker. If you want to party it's definitely the wrong place — they are really strict about being silent at 11 pm. Free yoga, cooking and salsa classes.

Pricier than any of the hostels we've stayed in Mexico but worth it. The breakfast is great, we've met cool people and made friends here, there is good Wi-Fi, a nice pool and hammocks :) The kitchen isn't quite big enough for the TONS of people who stay here but there are great cooking classes most nights where you are taught to make your own yucatecan meals for only 35 pesos! There are also great free yoga lessons in the morning, music at night, helpful staff with all the info about the city and just general good vibes. All in all a wonderful place to stay in Meridá.

Had a single toom with private bathroom. Clean but sparce. No toiletries provided and towels can be rented. Great location in historic district. Ideal for budget-minded travellers.

It's a Nice Hostel, with a great pool, good breakfast. The bathrooms have a weird smell thou that made me want to vomit. The night staff doesn't allow for the guest to be social. At 8:30pm we were asked to turn off our music which wasn't even loud. This is a Hostel I thought, were having guest hang out and talk should be encouraged. This is The first time in all of my hostel stays that I ever encountered the staff discouraging It. I understand maybe after 11pm or 12pm. But come on. This isn't a fancy hotel. It's disappointing because I enjoy the accommodations, the events, but people should be allowed to talk. It's really weird that as a paying customer I'm getting told to be quiet.

Hotel very well placed in the very lively center of Merida, but the distance from the street also allows to rest in peace if needed.
Room (double single supplement) very nice and very well air conditioned, very large shower and nice bedding.
Very nice pool.
Only small downside, the breakfast offered is not terrible but it is a detail.
Reasonable rate for location and services offered.

Nice hostel. In the women's room with 16 beds slept (own socket + fan + locker + lamp) showers and toilet clean. Pool! Breakfast Delicious! Unfortunately, the guests were more at Wi-Fi than talking.

Nice hostel fo a trip to Merida. It's a bit far away from the bus terminal but the taxis are't too expensive. The breakfast is goid and the pool is where you should be in the afternoon.

The staff was really helpful. I had reserved the wrong days and showed up one day in advance. As we were a group of 10, they didn't have any rooms left, but they managed to redirect me to another hostel nearby.
I sent an email to cancel the extra days, and the day after, the manager confirmed that I wouldn't pay anything extra!
Swimming pool is awesome and clean, there is a nice breakfast, I definitely recommend this hostel.

Hi, I have a bad experience with one of the staff when staying at Nomadas from 17-21 June 2017. I was staying with a group from SES (Student Energy Summit) 2017. In the first day of staying I put a deposit of USD 10 that they said I can get back once I check out. On the last day (21 June in the morning), when I want to check out, I leave my luggage in the storage, and the staff told me that I can only take my deposit after I am completely leaving the hostel. Once I got back to the hostel (around 12 midnight) to take my luggage and get my deposit the staff (different with one in the morning) said they don't have my name on the list of deposit based on the computer database. I lost my USD 10 and this is completely annoying. I remembered that I put my name on a log book, then the staff couldn't find the book that I refer to (or he pretends that he didn't know). Moreover, the staff is completely rude by saying that I made a story about the deposit. This is very unacceptable for me.

Cheap, clean, and comfortable. We spent three nights in a private room with double beds. The room was comfortable. The pool with its hammocks was a welcome relief from the heat. They also offer nightly cooking classes and weekly dance classes which were enjoyable. We would stay here again on our next visit.

Great place for backpackers. They have friendly and helpful staff that have many recommendations for things to do around Merida. There is free water and a delicious breakfast included with your stay. The pool and hammocks were a great place to hang out. The room was quite hot, but there was two large fans provided and it didn't bother me too much since I didn't spend a lot of time in the room.

THE place for a backpacker to stay in Merida. Free drinking water, awesome pool, tons of suggestions, good kitchen, cooking classes (just pay small fee for ingredients) and chilled vibe. Check out the Cuzama cenotes as a day trip!

They dont lie when they say theyre the best hostel in mexico! SUPER Cleab, very forthcoming and friendly staff, beautiful pool area which is very needed especially during the heat between noon and afternoon. Good location, too.

Quite ok — good hostel, bright and relatively large private room for one night. Bath could certainly be renewed. For that price, though, really good. Pool is great, but looks better in the photos.

What a wonderful place! I spent five days at the hostel and it is a charming place which seems miles away from the bustle of the city. While the reception area isn't very impressive when you step into the courtyards they are colorful and a wonderful place to sit on a hammock and relax. The courtyard with the pool is stunning. While this place isn't very large there are so many quiet corners to relax. I would return without question.

The pool and outside areas are nice, the dorms are decent. The breakfast is okay. They strictly enforce quiet hours starting at 11, you may see that as a good or had thing.

NO AIR CONDITION, staying at this hostel was a huge mistake, the temperature rises to over 90F in the daytime, you will be miserable here, I spent the whole time covered in sweat. Ants and bees are all over the dilapidated property. The janitor guy is very rude, he told me in broken English not to be playing with the lock when it is so old it broke on its own, Merida is a nice happening place, don't ruin your vacation here, PLEASE.

They seem to have organised activities every night, and real ones, like salsa class or cooking class, not "we will pour you one shot of tequila for posing for a picture like you were having fun" like some other hostels. Also they seem to have pretty strict "no assholes " policy, so no heavy drinking or disturbing others, but I guess some people might think it is negative side. On negative side place seem to be bit run down. Also — plastic covers on mattresses with towel on top are not very good for ventilation.

Great hostel. Will definitely come back here if I visit again.

Hello my name is Anthony, i've done my fair share of traveling in the last 2years and this would have to be the worst ran hostel i've stayed at, apart from the more than friendly girls who work the morning shift. As far as the setup at this hostel it's old but has a lot of character and a very nice pool area but if your looking to have a good time of a night time at this 'hostel' then your better off looking elsewhere! Any time after 9:30-10pm is when the fun police are in full force so if your looking to have quite beer and talk to fellow travellers around the pool area then think again because once it clicks over 10pm then no noise for the rest of the night. Lets be honest if your staying at a hostel you should expect to hear a little bit of noise until at least midnight and shouldn't have to put up with being harassed by the nightshift staff for talking in a quite and respectable matter.

The hostel looks amazing In the pictures simply for the fact that the facilities are amazing however this is where the positives end. The staff are extremely rude and unhelpful. My mates girlfriend was turned away at 3 in the morning because they presumed earlier in the night she wasn't coming despite the 24hr check-in. Therefore on arrival they said they had no room. Despite us having many beds free in the large dorm that we were staying in that night. She had to wonder the streets by herself to find alternative accommodation. The next day she was not allowed to enter the hostel to visit us even for 5 minutes despite she had never actually met me at this stage and was from another country. Zero empathy or common sense was used by the staff. Also after 9 o'clock they are very against drinking alcohol (beer and wine is only allowed in the hostel in the first place). Large groups of people were cooking talking and laughing however because we had a few drinks on our table we were constantly being told to be quiet when the signs clearly stated noise was permitted at a time later then 9pm. The people that go here are lovely, however this isn't saying much, it is a hostel and 90% of people that stay at them are good people and are up for a good time. The atmosphere though was terrible due to the way it was ran disallowing a hostel vibe conducive to a positive hostel vibe. There were other hostels in merida with better locations and far better staff.

This place is amazing! It has dorms for men and wimon, and private rooms for couples and families from what I have seen they all look spotless and they are cleaned daily. The pool looks like something from a tropical paradise and they keep it priesteen although it's surrounded by trees and reflects green light. They have hammocks draped over a shallow spot covered by a trellis, the water keeps the area cool even during the heat of the day. The staff all speak perfect English and they are helpful, kind and professional even if you pull in after midnight. They have cooking classes for 25p, salsa dancing lessions and a professional guitar player that comes every night to perform live music for free. I have traveled all over Europe and America and this is by far the coolest place I have ever stayed. It requires a reservation beforehand but it is priced extremely reasonably and includes breakfast. I never right reviews but I'm so impressed with this place I have to.

Great hostel! very central. Less than 5 minutes to walk to Gran Plaza! But it's hard to sleep long, because some people take a shower before 7 a. M. And that's very loud.

The best hostel in mexico.

Family atmosphere, attentive to the good employees and boss be travellers. A rare find in the back of the hostel: a pool surrounded by tables and hammocks. The garden to the iguanas is full of cactus of sorts under the gaze of the Maya gods who inhabit this paradise of calm and beauty. Various activities every day: trova, salsa, Mexican gastronomy courses, yoga courses. Close to everything. 20 minutes from the beach of Progresso, 5 minute from the Zocalo of this beautiful colonial city of Merida.
