Olas Tulum

Lovely property! Stayed for 4 nights in March 2025, Room Oceanfront room. I will be detailed, as I know women may have questions! Jimmy the owner was very sweet and funny and was on the property our entire stay with some good restaurant recommendations. My boyfriend communicated with Abby for payment, reservations, directions to the hotel, etc. She was not on-site at the time. Our room was indeed, right on the ocean (upstairs) with a beautiful view of the sea/beach. At the time we went in March, no need for A/C, as the ocean breeze and fan provided was enough to cool the room day/night. There is a sliding door with screen if needed. We didn't experience any mosquitos at all our entire stay so were able to leave the screen open with no problem. Has a big refrigerator and kitchenette. Filtered drinkable water is provided in a large recepticle in the kitchen. Shower was hot and pretty good pressure, no issues there. Small bathroom, but to be expected. Nice closet and shelves for clothing. Beach towels and bath towels provided. Breakfast is included and served daily 8-10am (eggs/granola/fruit/fruit bread/coffee/tea. ) Nano, the chef even made me scrambled eggs daily, even though they typically offer hardboiled. They accommodate dairy-free people like me which was great. The only complaint that I have is it would have been nice to have an option of lunch at the hotel, so you can relax on the beach and not have to worry about lunch.

A perfect getaway : we went to bed with the sound of the waves and woke up to the sound of the waves; we had long chatty delicious breakfasts before heading out for walks, swims and hours of reading. The lagoon was magnificent, we ate supremely well in town and so enjoyed the quiet end of the beach we found ourselves on.

One of the best holiday experiences we have had in recent years and somewhere we hope to return to. A beautiful location, lovely breakfasts with a sociable and chilled vibe. Olas is run by a team that genuinely care that you are having a good time with great food and drink recommendations and lots of local knowledge.

We stayed at Olas in early December and I can not say enough about the place. Absolutely incredible. We never return to a spot, the world is filled with too many options however I will easily make an exception for Olas. Highly recommend.

My husband and I recently stayed at Olas, and it was truly a wonderful experience. Abby, our host, went above and beyond with her kind and generous hospitality, recommending many amazing places for us to explore. Each morning, we enjoyed a simple, yet delicious breakfast, that was the perfect start to our day. While it does take a bit of effort to reach Olas from town, the journey is well worth it. It's a bit of a journey to get to Olas from town, but just take your time and you'll be rewarded with a peaceful oasis at the end of a busy strip.

Tulum may have gotten busier in the past years but Olas remains a beautiful, peaceful hideaway at the end of the jungle road. You will go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of the waves crashing, you will find tranquility under the palms, you will enjoy incredible hosts. The true magic of Tulum still exists, in a few special places — Olas is one of them.

Olas Tulum is a slice of heaven — beachfront, quiet, and gracious. I’ve stayed here twice, and each time it just gets better. Nothing is better than falling asleep listening to the sounds of the ocean and feeling the breeze and waking to the sounds of the birds. The staff are so kind and accommodating and have all kinds of recommendations to make your visit memorable. With the recent opening of the Tulum Airport, it’s about a 45 minute ride to Olas by taxi or private transport. Restaurants are 2 miles up the beach road, and I usually walked to dinner and took a taxi back. Love this place!

WOW! If you are looking for an eco-friendly small and quiet resort to stay at, look no further. This place is AMAZING! The ocean front and ocean view rooms both have the most perfect breeze blowing through. It is on a part of the beach that is very quiet (just before the natural reserve) and the overall vibe is so peaceful. We loved our time at Olas and will absolutely be back to try the rooftop yoga and enjoy some more peace and quiet :D.

That place is the best kept secret in Tulum. Secluded and serene, with the picture perfect palms and gold sand beach front. Nano, the keeper, is also the cook and Olas good spirit, that will make sure you'll forgive about the rest of the world and enjoy and relax there. We strongly recommend it if you are looking for authentic, quiet, beatiful place! There's no TV's there for a reason…

I stayed 3 nights at Olas and it was perfect. I had a partial ocean view and loved being able to listen to waves overnight. This is the perfect spot if you are looking for quiet. Most people are closer to the main hotel zone so it was great enjoying fewer people on the beach right in front of the property. If you're comfortable walking, its easy to get to any of the restaurants — even the nicer ones. The room was classic Tulum and had nothing more or less than I needed. Check in was easy and I paid the balance upon arrival. Breakfast was a nice communal way to meet other guests and get tips on restaurants. Highly recommend this place.

We stayed at Olas for 5 days last week and had a wonderful visit! It was our first time in Tulum so I didn’t have a lot of context for what the beach and area looked like or what the vibe was, but I was really happy I chose Olas because of the location! It’s nestled at the end of the busy hotel zone road, and while all the hotels are relatively small, the road becomes quite the bustling scene at night, loud music from restaurants and beach clubs and taxis everywhere. Olas was far enough from the chaos to make us feel like we were in the jungle alone but not far enough that we couldn’t walk to restaurants. It was about a 20-30 minute walk to some of the good restaurants and it’s really dark so I recommend a flashlight or headlamp! The room we stayed in (junior suite) was perfect! We could see and hear the ocean from our room and the temperature was perfect at night. The bed and pillows were so comfy. The breakfast in the morning was one of the highlights from our trip! So refreshing and delicious every day and a joy to get to meet other guests and get to know the chef (Nano). We had a wonderful time at Olas and would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet, romantic beach getaway.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing weekend at Olas! Its unique location gave us a relaxing gateway in Tulum and access to a very scenic beach, far from the crowds. At the same time, the popular bars and restaurants were around 20-30 minutes walking distance. The hotel personnel were also very friendly and welcoming. Totally recommend!
