Babel Hostal Hostel

This hostel was fun, lots of people and things to do around the city.

Price is ok. Pool is like a big bathtub. Construction and painting was going on. The many volunteers are their own group and set the mood for the whole place.

I was joining some friends for dinner and a drink from the bar which was great value and pretty tasty. They had a live bar which was great for the people who wanted to dance and socialise however I spoke to a few guests who wanted to sleep with the band playing just outside their door. I understand there's a lack of space so a comprimise must be made but if you are someone who likes an early night bring some ear plugs for the weekends. They commented that the rooms are of average cleanliness but nothing to write home about but for the price you pay it is good value and a great location in the town of tulum.

Fun hostel. Good bbq night. Comfortable beds, if you need them. Some showers have hot water. I advise against using the laundry service as they over charge and nothing can be done about it. (3kgs for 150 pesos)

Been there. Incredible place to stay. Nice energy. Good people As an Argentinian I loved been there! Recommendable.

Very good compromise to stay in Tulum if you have a small budget for accommodation ($ 10-12/night) The Youth hostel offers bicycles for hire, very good atmosphere, rooms and showers are clean and washed daily.
The +: The bar at low prices, the swimming pool, laundry service les —: breakfast. And the quality of the activities (for excursions it was preferred to call on the agency MexicoKanTours which is more professional than the one with which they work. )

Definitely more of a "party hostel" vibe. It was very crowded on the night we stayed and there was live music that went very late. They were doing Empanada night which meant the kitchen wasn't available for use. Great for a younger crowd that wants to mingle.

Very good hostel, amazing atmosphere, and all luxury would definitely return, the pool and the amazing roast!

One of the best places to stay in Tulum. They have a small pool, a bar where they sell good drinks and 4 beers for $100. The rooms are large enough and comfortable. The staff is very attentive and in the evenings there is good music. And the lodging is not expensive.

Relatively centrally located party (! ) Hostel with pretty loud music until the night, staff is mixed, at least planned (there was a room confusion and we had to move again despite prior confirmation that everything ok is finally again — for that there were free bikes). Warm shower in the dorm unfortunately misrepresentation. Wi-Fi almost unusable (except lobby), breakfast only from 8. Cheap All u can eat parties and bar by the lobby.
However, we leave with mixed feelings.

Place with very good vibes and a lot of youth. Ideal to meet people to do activities. Good events, very well located!

If you want to rest, this is not the hostel for it. Music every day and night. From 8 in the morning all the way til next day 1am. You just have that small window of opportunity to sleep less than 8 hrs. Even ear plugs are useless.

Nice hostel! Smaller than the Che Tulum. I prefer this one. However still music until around 00:30 am. After that you won't hear anything. Pizzas at the pizza night were the best I ever had! (And I've been to Italy twice! )

Have to agree with other reviews, the actual hostel was great and had a good atmosphere but the majority of time the staff really didn't know what was going on. Would urge the owners to try and hire some locals who really care about the hostel as their job and sharing the best of Tulum with visitors!

It's a good place, water seemed to be and issue and Wi-Fi was shotty they said it was maintenance. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Great hostel. Nice atmosphere as it's small enough that you end up knowing most people there. Air con always on in the dorms is a lifesaver in the Tulum heat. BBQ and food nights are awesome! All you can eat for a decent price. The only negative is that they charge $100 for a day bike hire and the bikes are falling apart.

Pretty sweet spot with a small pool and bar, open kitchen and basic breakfast. Aircon is only on set hours which makes the rooms unbearable when its not on amd the shower pressure isnt that good. Wifi is strong and staff are nice. Good location one block from the main street in tulum pueblo.

Another option to the stuffy hotels. An atmosphere of distention. Excellent service and the best cocktail in the Caribbean.

Great cheap drinks, awesome pool and hangout area, bartender was on point! Foosball table is free, good source of fun.

Family, quiet, cosy, fun, economical, practical … it has everything. It was a few amazing days!
