Good location for the price but nothing special.

A hostel very well located, with very good attention and a fair price. The special dinners they prepare are very rich and very good reason to live with the rest of the guests. I would definitely return to this hostel.

This place was awesome. It has a great vibe, it's pretty well located, people from all ages and a great bar until midnight. The room wasn't entirely clean, suspicious stains on the bed sheets and hair all over the floor. It's a good place to stay overnight if your main trip is elsewhere but you're spending the night. Breakfast was great and the staff is extremely friendly.

Excellent hubicacion, good treatment and atmosphere! Just lack, a little maintenance on the toilets.

Great place, great location, walking you get everywhere, the beach 2 blocks, clubs, restaurants… The place was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would always go back to Hostal Mx.

The facilities are clean, enjoyable. Great location. It has a really nice interior garden with chairs, tables and hammocks. The staff at the reception desk are really nice and helpful. The mexican ones. The argentinian were only nice to foreigner guests, specially from their own country. I did not feel welcome in that hostel, let alone the bar. I almost had to beg for a decent attention from the argentinian bar tender. Would I stay there again? No.

Excellent location, on 5th Avenue. The rooms are comfortable. A little cleaning in the bathrooms. And also missing more bathrooms to share. Breakfast is lazy and it's poorly organized. They'd have to improve that. Very good popular dinners.

Great location Ideal for those who come out during the day to explore the wonders of the Mayan Riviera and then seek a time of rest between friendly people and cordial treatment. Every day you will find meetings at night, to enjoy a beer and talk about your experience or ask for a reference. It all ends at midnight, just time to get ready for the next day.

The best hostel in the entire Riviera not only Playa del Carmen. Everything is great the rooms that work the wave they have. The attention. The nights with their own bar! Everything Super great!

Facilities are average and rooms are packed. Loud always too.

Excellent location Good atmosphere. Acceptable facilities. My only complaint is the noise from the back bars but I guess it is implicit in the location. Place to throw away but not to rest.

The hostel is nice and very well decorated but the rooms have bad smell like rotten pipe and to rest is not advisable the music to all that gives until the 4 am.

Definitely the best place to stay in Playa del Carmen. Good atmosphere, very nice place and excellent service.

Nice common area, though too close to the rooms, from the bed you hear the people in the garden. Kind treatment of people. The hostel as a loose infrastructure. We did not work the lock, showers of cold water and the day it rained it flooded the room.
It is a hostel to go with friends to enjoy beach and party. Good location, two minutes walk from Coco Bongo and Fifth Avenue.

Perfect location, but quite noisy if you have a room to the courtyard. Rooms are simple but clean. The atmosphere is very good.
Wi-Fi very unreliable and rather bad.

Very good place to come alone, as a couple and even with a small family, they cater to luxury, always with a smile and trying to give the best solutions to their customers, only the breakfast is a little simple, nothing more the rest excellent.

The location is the best, right in the middle of the main street in Playa del Carmen, La Quinta Avenida. Close to the most popular night clubs, such as CocoBongo, Mandala and others. The rate is pretty convenient. You can share rooms or get a private one with your own bathroom. The accommodations are basic, but its all good. Clean and friendly environment. Your stay includes breakfast but is not really good. However, right next the hostel is located "100 % Natural", a nice restaurant with a very nice and healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner options, good thing is the Hostal offers a discount voucher to dine there. All good. Hostal MX is not a fancy place but well worth it. I could stay there again.

Room is generally clean, releativley quiet. Can use some new bedsheet and towel.

It's a very nice hostel and in a great location. It's right downtown in Playa del Carmen. The staff are very nice and helpful.

Amazing staff. Fun vibe. Clean sheets. Cheaper walk in rate. Not for sleeping at night. Quiet around lunchtime, music blasts and everyone is up at night. Dark, sad dorms.

Stay in February 2016. The beautiful day, a tropical garden in the middle of the city, night a nightclub with no curfew. I did not sleep for a week, music to the bottom until 3, 4 or even 5 am. One night exceeded I asked the reception to turn down the music, with a bothered air it does not answer me possible the boss is there by throwing a look at a table … It was 3 am … The room was not as clean and beautiful as in photo. Welcome to the detestable reception. The kitchen is a real mess, if the housekeepers do not tidy up nobody does not tidy up or clean up his business … A real disappointment.

This hostel has the best location on fifth avenue! Very good beds and the bar has a great atmosphere :)
