Great place to stay convenient to everything! Playa Norte within steps and so was great food and shopping! Oh and the drinks around there are ice cold.

The hotel is nice and very basic, but ok since we only needed a place to crash! one thing I didn't like was the online pics when I booked my trip. The online pictures are very deceiving. The hotel is on the beach but I was unable to get right on the beach. I had to walk through main lobby then on the street then to the beach. It was a 5 min walk if that but when I booked the trip thought it was right outside my door. No continental breakfast on site. I had to walk to a hotel down the street for breakfast which was orange juice, coffee and toast. That was it! overall this place is nice! the staff is very nice and helpful! I had heard if you book a room in the 20s here they are right on the beach part.

Terrible attention of the staff, rude and rude! The lady manager or owner of the place is rude, despot, greedy, insults everyone. Very bad experience.
DO NOT rent golf carts in this place, if you spend 1 min already want not to charge the full time and only in cash if you are going to pay by card charge 19% commission. It's a robbery, they have zero attention and I appreciate the tourist they only think about how to squeeze them and take more money from them.

After having to change hotels due to some maintenance issues we ended up here for our honeymoon. The staff was SO nice! The views are beautiful & the rooms are affordable. You can rent golf carts WAY cheaper from here then near the pier & they always check them over for gas levels and keep them all very well maintained. We absolutely loved it here and plan to come back for our one year anniversary already!

Have been staying there for years and never had a bad day. The same staff has been there forever and has always been very accommodating. This hotel captures the charm of Isla Mujeres in years past.

Terrible service. Reserved a room for 3 and was given 2 single beds. When trying to explain to the receptionist she refused to help, told me to wait til the next day and refused to give me her name. Stay clear. They simply don’t treat guests properly.

Right next to the beach. Grounds is very pretty with lots of greenery. Great distance from restuarants and shops. The pool is small but clean and the hammocks around it is awesome for lounging! There is Wi-Fi at the pool area too. We stayed in a Cabana room next to the pool, we were able to get Wi-Fi in our room from the pool area. The rooms were overall clean and you feel very safe. I would definitely go back here. Oh and the breakfast you get is actually at the Buhus across the street. It's very basic. A cup of juice, a cup of coffee and 2 pieces of toast.

Good place to rest and enjoy the paradisiacal beaches of Isla women. They give you breakfast at the owl's restaurant. I recommend renting a cart and going to get to know the whole island.

We loved the location on the pristine north beach.   Each day it was just steps away to the beach and water.   We stayed in the towers section on the second floor, with a little bit of a view of the ocean from our balcony.   If we returned we would probably choose a first floor room for ease of coming and going to the beach (though privacy may be sacrificed).   Don't expect luxury from this hotel — maybe closer to motel standards in north america!   Our room was adequte with comfortable beds.   Toast, juice and coffee breakfast were included.   Pool and hammocks around the pool looked beautiful… though we spent all our time at the beach.   Filtered water was available to refill water bottles.   Quite a number of table and chairs set up throughout the property — nice place to eat a meal on a rainy day.   Gardens around the pool were BEAUTIFUL — obviously a lot of TLC put into these.   Beach loungers and umbrellas were available for use just steps away for 90 pesos per item — a great deal since you can bring your own beverages and food. Tons of shade was available all along this stretch as the property was lined with palm trees — so we opted to just lay out a blanket on the beach most days.   This part of the beach had less beach chairs and umbrellas set up… a little less dense crowds during our stay compared to other parts of the beach. A quick walk to shops and a number of really good restaurants nearby.   Two that stood out for us were Rubens and Chachacha Gourmet Garden.

The service was horrible. The showers had no door and the water would flood in the restroom extending to the room. Ants in the restroom and rats in the exterior of the halls and outside by the pool.

Very convenient for beach access — you can walk back to your room directly from the beach. Knocked off a star because there were small ants all around the room. Otherwise beautiful and clean.

The Castle room is nice, nothing fancy but comfortable. It has a large bed very very comfortable and a spacious and cool balcony, the bathroom equal very spacious, although they could improve the shower, it has a safe and a fridge. The breakfasted parace very little (I have not yet tried) but they say K coffee juice and toast. The room does not have Wi-Fi only in dining room and pool and beach hammocks are paid (60 pesos) I think this is bad! For the price I feel good and the room castle very well.
Recommended.

Just came back from a 10 day trip to Isla. Been to the island several times, 1st time staying here. I will definitely return to this hotel. Stayed in a castle room across the street, ground floor, room It was just me and my husband. We like to stay out late and sleep in while on vacation. We were able to do that here. Everyone was very nice. Our room was perfect! Spacious, and clean. We sat on our balcony every day and just relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean. We rented a golf cart one day. Was able to go right to the lobby and do that. Reasonable price. We will return next spring and I plan on returning here. I found my favorite hotel on the island.

The beds were really hard. And my husband and I don't fit in a double well. But the patio was great to hang our wet swim suits up. The resort is right on the best beach, but they charge you to use umbrellas and chairs. There are good trees, but you need to be out early to secure your shade. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here years ago. Our friends are there now. It was great then and they've kept it up well. One of the best locations. Right on Playa Norte.

The location is the only good thing about the place, as far as the hotel does not have Wi-Fi in the rooms, it has TV of the year 95, at night no hot water comes out, the pool is small. They have almost no service with the price of the accommodation. The hotel is in front of the beach and has no umbrellas or seats for your customers they charge you 200: (

The best part is that the hotel is located right by a really nice beach and close by downtown. However, price/quality/service is a bit over rated. The hotel pool and garden is nice and all is clean but that's about it. The rooms are spacious but old. The TV was probably older than me and there was no internet connection except in one common area. I didn't have hot water. The service is average. It took us nearly half an hour to check in, in order to pay they take your card away so you don't see what's happening with it and baggage storage is rudimentary, they don't give you a ticket and leave the bags behind reception but at everyone's sight. They say it's fine no one steals and that they remember each guest's bags… Breakfast is at a restaurant at the beach but very poor as they only provide toasts with butter and jam and American coffee or tea and a juice which definitely is not fresh. Honestly, too expensive for what you get.

Be careful to book this hotel! I made the booking for 2 adults and 2 children but when it is time for breakfast we just get breakfast for 3 and they have not gott explanation just they want us to pay for 4 adults to get 4 breakfast 18usd/person. 36usd for two small kids if you want to eat the bad breakfast with two toast and coffe and one glas of juice. The staff is unpolite and no one can take a desition.

If you want to be robbed and treated without respect — stay here.
Staying here was the worst experience of a "hotel" I have ever had in my life, no doubt.
1. To arrive, we got a roomy mini and ugly with 2 beds — the price of which being $139 USD plus $18 for an "extra person" — it made us very expensive for what it was. They offered to change us to a larger cabana with 3 beds, little better, being that this room had an additional cost of $65 per night. Being high season there was little availability on the island so we stayed.
2. Then, $2, 000 MXN were stolen from a hidden place in my suitcase, showing that someone was checking my stuff. When I went to report it, they said they were going to investigate but they never asked me for apologies, nothing. I asked who had access to the room and they told me only the waitress. 10 minutes later the waitress touched our door — she was sent to confront me, all frightened, to tell me it wasn't her. What was I going to say?!
3. At the time of check-out, the amount they wanted to charge us did not make sense, and the room rate we were given did not appear in writing anywhere. The employees CHELY and CLARA were very very rude, indicating that I was the stupid for not understanding because I had to pay this figure so high. Supposedly we had to pay for a bigger room, with 3 beds, and on top a charge for the third person.

Decent room. Clean bathroom. Nice garden grounds. Nice pool. Right on the beach. Great restaurants close by.

Beautiful flowers and plants in the courtyard around the pool. Simple rooms but your usually not in there. Always hot water for the shower. Had a 2nd floor room and loved every minute of the view! Just steps from beach and a quick golf cart ride to everything else. Loved looking for the little lizards in the conch shells on the pathway. Only down fall to stop it from being 5 stars is there is only Wi-Fi by the pool. Will definitely be back next time we visit Isla!

The best part as the hotel is close to the beach.

Awesome location, steps to Playa Norta couple of blocks for the main shopping and fooderies, beautiful court yard with a small splash pool for the kids. Very clean and great staff. Highly recommended.

Love Cabanas, where we always stay, many beautiful attributes, best is large stretch of beach, right outside your room, also close access to downtown. Owners could be more on top of details for client comfort… washcloths would be great, small tables on top balconies for rooms above restaurant, one microwave in hallway for all rooms to access (for reheating all delicious leftovers) would be so useful. Also maintenance in some rooms needs to be addressed, all about details in the service industry. We will go back!

Lousy service. The waiters don't even realize you're here. They give preference to the "blondes" * discrimination * took a long time to serve and when they did was wrong my order.
An hour after I arrived tell me Q just 20 minutes ago that they had put the correct order.
The waiter gives me pretexts instead of giving me solutions. And he still tells me: Well, if you want to wait, if you don't. No way.
They have no idea what quality or customer service is.

Before I begin my post I should preface with the fact that I am a cheap traveler. I do not spend a lot of money on fancy accommodations. I look for CLEAN and affordable — not the most updated rooms. If you like to travel like that, then this is the place! Rooms are so well priced, especially if you snag a deal online! They are small, cute, clean, the AC works amazing and they feel like you're immersed in the culture. Other people have said you can hear noise in the morning w the cleaning crew, and this is correct. However, I was up early every morning and it didn't bother me. The beach is literally outside your doorstep. The first time I stayed here, I went completely alone, stayed for a week and on the second floor. I never had any issues with the locals or the tourist. It was very safe. The hotel is located at the north beach and is about is about a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry. So if you want to save some cash, skip the taxi and walk there. You can stop and get a drink or bite to eat before check in. The staff is also very nice. I've never had any issues. However, I'm a firm believer that if you are nice to begin with, others will be nice back. Just use common sense when in other country. All the rooms come with a safe, which came in very handy. Honestly, I love staying here and this will always be my first choice. It's in a quite location and near the water.

The place has a beautiful out door space but the interior is bad out dated and the grandeners were staring at my sister.

Unbeatable location, simple rooms, decent price. 10 mins walking distance from the ferry. There can be noise in the morning from the maids in the hall and the trash pickup outside. AC worked great. Lock box was useful for passports and cash. Easy golf cart rental from the hotel lobby. We kept beers in our mini fridge and would walk right from the beach to get a refill, faster service than the beach bars.

Great place. Very cute small hotel. I will choose it over a big and modern place. Very cozy and 1 minute in walking to a Playa Norte, which is the most amazing beach ever. The stuff is really great. Our stay was awesome. The AC was working very well, and the rooms where cleaned every day. There is a safe box here free to use but there is no iron in the room. But u can ask for it at the front desk. Our check out was at 12 noon, but we left our bags till 2pm. Which was very convenient for us. Love this place a lot, will be back soon.

The rooms aren't the nicest but the location is amazing and the price is right. There's no Wi-Fi in the rooms, just outside in the pool area. Speaking of which, the outside area is beautiful! I'd stay here again if the price is right. Breakfast consists of coffee, orange juice, and a couple pieces of today across the street.

We stayed three nights last month. The place was GREAT! We had a second floor room overlooking the pool. 1 minute walk to the beach and their restaurant/bar (Buho's) We paid $114 plus tax. The room was basic but clean and had a fridge. It was a great value. Cart rentals right at the front desk.

Just spent 11 nights here, ground floor closest to the beach. Awesome. All of the staff is very friendly, especially our housekeeper Silvia. I will stay here the next I am in Isla!

Are rooms where nice the property was beautiful the pool was small but with plenty of hammocks to relax in the ocean being just out side the door was great the staff friendly and helpful. This hotel was great for the way we travel a nice bed to sleep in great AC and I think it had a TV but I did not use it I spent my time in there sleeping or sitting on the balcony waiting to head out. There is no Wi-Fi in you're room some might not like this but the beach restaurant dose have it and a simple breakfast and coffee is free. They have water coolers on every level to fill your bottles or camel pack with, shopping and dining are just blocks away and the port a short walk.

The only thing I liked about it was that it was close to the beach, Playa Norte, other than that it was dirty and not cozy at all. Our shower curtain was covered in mold and our bed protector had nasty yellow stains.

Simple, no frills in an excellent location. The bed was really noisy last time I was there, but everything was clean and the air conditioning worked.

Only here for a drink by sunset… nice!

Excellent place and good price. Most beautiful beach of isla mujeres. The only thing that añadiria is a coffee maker in the rooms.

Care to book this "hotel" all photos and descriptions are misleading. Rooms old, damp, suffocating smell, very dirty, with spider webs and spiders in the bath and under the bed, red ants, lizards and rats running through common balconies; Beach showing the beach is public, continental breakfast there, get it in a bar opposite the place and consists of a coffee or tea almost cold, and 2 toasts with a little butter or jam, attention leaves a lot to be desired. We honeymoon to that horrible place 27 of December 2014 and the second night had to leave because we clutched not more. Within that rate, which is looking into prices of the island, there are far better hotels and even more cheap. The only thing that would have to do with this hotel is closing it.
For english speakers: DON´T GO! That place is a nightmare.

Lousy service and facilities. It is a pity that so beautiful location is so wasted. Staff is inefficient (cleaned the room until we told them, and were not even able to call a taxi), rooms are in poor condition (poor ventilation, poor lighting, almost none with view to the sea, the bed is old and uncomfortable, and the restaurant does not work (I've seen best breakfasts in hostels even! ). )

I stayed here in July 1992, and really liked it. I was getting my scuba certification. 21 years later, I walked past it with my new girlfriend, and knew she would get mad if I told her what I did there as a younger man. I can say now at age 63, that this little hotel on the beach could be the portal to fine lifetime secrets on a small Caribbean island. I remember nothing about the room itself, but only about the fine memories it hosts for me still.

My wife and I check into the hotel last weekend and the room smelled really bad. The Room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator or hand rails. I asked for another room, second room had yellowish stain (PEE-Stain) on the bed (sheets and blanket), which was obvious by the smell. I have taken pictures of it. I left and the hotel refused to refund. I don’t recommend this hotel and would ever consider staying here.

Great bargain for this location. Clean rooms, good bar with unbeatable view of one of the world's most beautiful and swimmable beaches.
