They are very kind the gentlemen who attend and are also very patient, my husband at all times pedia things and were never rude, always with excellent attitude, the rooms are very large, all overlook the sea, the food is very rich and the cherry of the cake, is that they let you take your pet, that is amazing because there are almost no places that accept puppies, I highly recommend it and safely return on my next holiday with them.

Very grateful for the great service and the Carolina, is more than noteworthy, we stayed a couple of days and the pass excellently; the food is something delicious all the time, mainly the apple pie which we loved. If you're going to Mahaual, do not forget to visit the hotel Maya Luna!

It is a place where you find absolute tranquility, all the staff very friendly and attentive to whatever you need, the food is very rich, the people is very near, you have the beach all to yourself, the rooms are very clean and the beds are super comfortable, if you have children, you have nothing to worry about, as any place of beach with vegetation must be prevented from mosquitoes. A place that definitely you're going to want to come back.

My husband and I with our 2 dogs visited between May 10th — 14th for our Wedding Anniverary. It was quiet, due to low season and the owners & staff made us feel very welcome. Both my husband & our critters enjoyed the wonderful sunrise; the beach & the food was exceptionally great. The rooms were spacious along with the wonderful breeze coming from the ocean at night, definately made for a restful sleep. I loved the rooftop for meditation & yoga. Our critters loved swimming ; and we all felt relaxed. I enjoyed the use of the kayak. This will definately be a destination for us again. Thank you Maya Luna owners & staff for your warm hospitality.

Really delicious, the pastas and of course the cherry on the cake THE PINEAPPLE WITH SEAFOOD, truly amazing the unique and unmatched taste. Its beach with the sand the most beautiful and clean of the area. Thank you for your attentions to the hostess Expensive, Buba and the excellent staff.

The owners two Dutch very cool. The place, a dream… Beautiful and 3 meters from the sea are the tables… And the shrimp curry and margaritas a pleasure for the palate…

For more than a week I stayed with Carolien and Jan in their hotel-restaurant Maya Luna in Mahahual. Fantastic! There're four separate bungalows for rent on the beach and there is also a slightly larger apartment above the restaurant available. All with private facilities, (hot) shower, toilet, comfortable beds and a private terrace with seating and a hammock. Besides, all bungalows have their own roof terrace with parasol and garden furniture as well. The view over the bay from this roof terrace is indescribably beautifull. On the hotel grounds there is also the diving school of Luis. With him you are in good hands if you want to go diving, snorkeling or sailing … Maya Luna is an ideal place to completely relax and enjoy nature and the delicious cuisine of the restaurant. Sleeping with the sound of the sea and the wind blowing through the palmtrees, who would not like that? … Dear Carolien and Jan, thank you for an unforgettable stay, muchas gracias por todo! I'll be back soon!

Beautiful hotel, a few cabins away from the center of mahaual, for the one who wants privacy.

Beautiful location, nice cabanas, not the friendliest hostess, but all else was winderful.

We arrived at Maya moon biking and sandals without any difficulty, the road is not paved but it is quiet… each of us has their own perception of course… Lovely place, we took a kayak ride among the pelicans that fished, then a swim with snorkel with the exciting encounter with a huge black breed (Manta)! Clear and crystalline water, I did not notice waste or dumps as reported in another post also because the climatic conditions that I have were optimal! Thank you:-) I will definitely stay here again!

The stuffed pineapple was delicious and very reasonably priced but be careful getting there as the road from the cruise port is VERY bumpy and the taxis don't like it. We didn't swim in the water as it was't the expected bluey turquoise.

A good place if you are looking to rest. It's a bit removed from the center and the road is sheer dirt, but it's worth it. The rooms have a terrace and a hammock outside the room. When I went there was no one else and it was great. In the photo I show the breakfast that is included in the price of the room. Direct sea view, luxury! I would definitely come back.
Another fact: As in many places, accept card but not AMEX.

It is place is very nice the rooms are new, the owners are very friendly, the sea view is amazing, downside is very removed from the tourist area, if you carry a car is good choice, or they can send you taxis.

Exceptional tranquil place right on the beach. The staff are friendly and the rooms are perfect and clean. Book a bungalow. They have private roof terraces. The food is great too. Free use of the kayaks Will come again. Loved it. Was going to stay for one night. Decided to stay for three.

I really miss the lovely days at Maya Luna — me and my family were there a few days in June this year. Delicious food, nice rooms and so relaxing. Thank you very much for everything!

Don't tell anybody about this place (thankfully the road is not very good = keeps the non aventurous, non ecologically minded, non interested people away)! It was quiet, (you hear the ocean from the bedroom window — yes, you're that close to the sea), meals in the evening were very tasty. The hosts are super friendly and provide you with kayaks to go out all by yourself. The place is animal friendly. You can swim out to the reef and snorkel all day but that's not even necessary because we saw all kinds of fish come up real close to the beach. Enjoy it while you can : who knows how long this place will be the hidden treasure that it is!

We arrived at the Mayan Hotel Luna via a dirt road full of potholes which made us fear for the car suspensions. Once we arrived we found out that Wi-Fi was not available (for technical reasons, not dependent on the hotel). The staff was friendly but the beach is a disaster: in front of the property is covered with seaweed and the sides is swamped with garbage. This is not directly the fault of the hotel, they are not dumping the garbage on the beach, but offering a fairly expensive service to the area they could clean up. Honestly we did not feel like bathing in the middle of the landfill. Unfortunately as written at the beginning the structure is very isolated from the rest of mahahual so once you are practically forced to stay there.
The property, which consists of four or five beach bungalows would have potential, but without a usable beach loses value.

Great place to rest and stay in touch with nature.

Bungalows right on the beach, four kilometres from mass tourism, very good cuisine, almost paradisiacal tranquillity in a family atmosphere. All wild and natural, but you don't have to do without flowing water, electricity, internet, good food and cold drinks. Thank you for the wonderful time, we absolutely want to come back!

We are staying here now and loving the place and hospitality of Jan & Carolien. A feeling of being on a remote beach but close enough to Mahahual, and even Bacalar, for some variety. We came for snorkeling opportunities and found them with ease, and much more. Not least of which is absolute peacefulness and quiet under blazing stars with only the sound of surf to fall asleep by. Thank you to our hosts.

I've never been to this hotel but soon ire to chetumal and hence me I will go to this hotel which has a panoramic view to the great sea.
