We spent only 2 nights at La Betulia, but I wished we could stay more. We arrived late on a stormy night and were friendly welcomed. The building — a classic mexican patio house surrounded by trees — is elegant and relaxing. Rooms are frugal but cozy, with purified water refilled daily. Breakfast is superb for the food (fresh fruits, pastries and a mexican-style dish) and for the conversation. The host let us feel at home and provided great suggestions and services for activities in Oaxaca and surrounding areas.

La Betulia is awesome! Tucked away behind large gates the courtyard is sun filled & relaxing. My room was spacious & my bed comfortable, & really comfy pillows too. Most important I reckon. Daniel is a great Manager & does his best to sort out your needs as quickly as he can. Now. The food! Well I wanted to bring Rosa home with me, her food is delicious. Oaxaca is a food destination & thanks to Carlos & the Day of the Dead Tour I got to eat some fantastic food in a variety of Restaurants. But Rosa's food is every bit as good. The staff are happy & friendly. A great destination & I would just like to thank Daniel & everyone at La Betulia for a great stay. I'm going to come back. You absolutely must-stay at La Betulia! Here’s why: ROOMS/APARTMENT: My husband and I stayed in the apartment for one month. The apartment was beautiful, light, airy, and clean—and the rooms are too! It felt like living in a tree house. I loved the modern feel and the stone floor shower. Incredible! The entire bed and breakfast was peaceful and quiet. It’s a great place to relax. STAFF: The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Daniel helped us plan our day each morning over breakfast. He’s extremely knowledgeable about Oaxaca and has great recommendations for things to see, where to walk, best restaurants, tours, and more. The super-women who run the kitchen and clean the rooms are lovely and kind and do a fantastic job. LOCATION: La Betulia has a great location. It’s just a short 5-minute stroll to Santa Domingo and 10-minutes to the Zocolo. The neighborhood was safe, even at night. And there are tons of restaurant options (and a market) just a block away. BREAKFAST: The breakfast was delicious and unique every morning. Some of our favorite meals in all of Oaxaca were the breakfasts at La Betulia. Plus, you get a chance to chat with other guests to hear about their recommendations and travels. OVERALL: I rate La Betulia 10 out 10 and would definitely come back. It far exceeded my expectations. Fantastic quiet place to stay just a short walk from the sites. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Excellent help provided to navigate and plan your time in Oaxaca. Breakfast is a real treat.

We had an incredible experience with the help of the best hosts of La Betulia. They took care of us like I have never experienced before.
Since my first email, they did create for us the best itinerary in a short period of time to experience the most amazing moments in Oaxaca for the day of the dead. Every place that we went, every restaurant that we ate, the cooking class with the best chef from Oaxaca who was so humble.
Everything was scheduled for us to perfection, no stress on our part we just needed it to go with flow to experience everything all our senses could. The smells of the copal, flowers and food, the flavors of the most amazing Mexican food, chocolate, coffee and mezcal, the sightseeing of such a beautiful city and every building full of history, but he most spectacular celebration of life, the happiness of the people waiting to celebrate life with their love ones.
I will recommend to visit Oaxaca make sure to book with La Betulia they really care about you having the best time and experience and make it unforgettable.

A wonderful place: clean, cozy, friendly, and relaxing. The staff is amazing and are attentive to your every need. The breakfasts are made from scratch and are delicious.

La Betulia is an excellent choice to stay in Oaxaca. It is in a quiet area, very close to Santo Domingo, which allows you to walk to all the tourist sites and the most beautiful areas of the city centre. Decoration is amazing and the rooms are very spacious and bright. In addition, the service is excellent, with a very good attitude on the part of all employees. Don't miss the breakfast in the restaurant.
